Torah Minute by Rabbi Bakshi: Be Holy — On G‑d’s Terms, not ours! #parsha #torahminute #chabad
The Torah teaches us that holiness isn’t just about doing what feels good or seems right. It’s about doing what G‑d commanded us. We see this concept in both Achrei Mos and Kedoshim. In Achrei Mos, we learn the consequences of acting on our own terms through the tragic story of Aaron’s sons, who perished for offering a sacrifice in a way G‑d did not command. Their intention was spiritual, but they deviated from divine instructions. And in Kedoshim, we are told, "You shall be holy." This commandment gives us over 50 mitzvot, focusing on how to build good character and relationships, all rooted in G‑d’s will, not just our own desires. If we act only based on what we think is nice or meaningful, we might eventually bend the rules or justify the wrong thing. But when we do it because G‑d said so, we’re grounded in truth, walking the right path. True holiness means doing good not just because we feel like it, but because G‑d instructed us to. #holiness #mitzvot #spirituality #achrei #kedoshim
