Pesach is not just a story of the past—it’s a living experience. We begin with “Avadim Hayinu”—we were slaves. Not they were… we were. Because Pesach teaches us that the past is not history—it’s identity. The same strength, faith, and redemption that our ancestors experienced lives within us today. But it doesn’t stop there. Every year, we are told to see ourselves as if we personally left Egypt. Why? Because each of us has our own “Mitzrayim”—limitations, challenges, fears—and Pesach gives us the power to break free in the present. And then comes the future. We conclude the Seder with “L’shanah Haba’ah B’Yerushalayim”—Next year in Jerusalem. Pesach plants within us a vision of redemption, a belief that the world is moving toward something greater. Pesach connects it all: A past that shapes us, A present that challenges us, And a future that calls us forward. Wishing you a meaningful, uplifting, and truly liberating Pesach. #TorahMinute #Pesach #Freedom #Passover #JewishWoodbridge #RabbiBakshi
