Torah Minute by Rabbi Bakshi: Make Every Day Count
The mitzvah of Sefirat HaOmer, which we read in Parashat Emor, teaches us to count each day from Passover to Shavuot. At first glance, it seems puzzling—time moves forward on its own, whether we count it or not. So what is the purpose of counting something that happens regardless of us? The deeper message is that counting is not about tracking time—it’s about giving time value. By counting each day with a blessing, we create awareness and remind ourselves that every day is given with intention and purpose. It encourages us to pause and reflect on what we are doing with the time we’ve been given. This daily practice transforms ordinary time into meaningful time. Instead of simply letting days pass, we begin to live with growth, purpose, and action—filling each day with Torah and mitzvot. In the end, we don’t just count the days—we make each day count. #TorahMinute #Parsha #Emor #SefiratHaOmer #count #JewishWisdom #MeaningfulLiving #Purpose #Mitzvah #Growth #ShabbatShalom #RabbiBakshi #jewishwoodbridge #chabad #torah
