Torah Minute by Rabbi Bakshi: Don’t Just Do. Inspire Others!

In Parashat Vayishlach, Yaakov sends messengers to prepare for peace with Esav. The word Vayishlach—“he sent”—teaches that our mission in this world isn’t only personal. We are here to bring Hashem’s light into the world. There are two parts to this mission: doing mitzvot ourselves, and helping others do them too. Inspiring another Jew to add even one mitzvah is exactly what Hashem desires from us. Last week, Yaakov made the world holy through his own actions. This week, he includes others.
