Shana Tovah U'metukah! But, why Apple?
On Rosh Hashanah, we dip the apple in honey and wish for a good and sweet year. But why apple, when there are so many other sweet fruits? Our sages teach that the apple is unique—its fruit begins to grow even before its flower fully blossoms. This teaches a profound lesson about the Jewish people. Like the apple, we often act first—driven by faith and devotion—before we fully understand or feel complete. We take the step to do Hashem’s will, and the understanding and beauty come afterward. Hashem sees this eagerness in us during the High Holidays. Even before we are perfect, He blesses us with a sweet year because of our desire and initiative to come close. May we hear the shofar, dip the apple in honey, and embrace a year filled with blessing, sweetness, and light for us and all of mankind. #TorahMinute #Parsha #Hashem #Chabad #JewishWoodbridge #RabbiBakshi #Apple #Honey #ShanahTova #highholidays #roshhashana
