We've all learned Chumash, maybe even
thought we understood, but now, with his
trademark depth and clarity and his
signature up-tempo Daf Yomi style, Reb
Sruly Bornstein uncovers the layers
beneath the words, revealing a world of
meaning, relevance, and beauty in every
line. Where the derech halimud of the
base medrash meets pashut shat, discover
the shiur that's redefining how people
learn Chumash. Reb Sruly Bornstein's
Chumash Shiur. Find it on the Lakewood
Daf Yomi app or wherever this shiur is
being heard. Today's dots is Vochin daf
kuf tes zayin, and we will begin about
20 lines from the top of daf kuf tes
zayin amud aleph, the two dots. So, the
Gemara is discussing the halachas of
bamos.
So, the Gemara brought a braisa that
said that back in the day when korbanos
were brought on ba- bamos before Matan
Torah, it was tahor on the way to make
it. So, even though these korbanos were
not being brought in the Beis Hamikdash,
but at the same time they had to conform
to a certain guidelines. There was a
Shulchan Aruch that how a korban was
brought on a bama. One of the halachos
was that only a korban that was tahor,
only a beheima tahora was allowed to be
brought on a bama, but a beheima teme'a
was not. Pashut shat is a beheima tahora
is a kosher animal. A beheima teme'a is
a non-kosher animal. Frank the Gemara,
the obvious question, "Yeah, the beheima
was tahor by his shechita." We're
discussing the shaat ha-dchak bamos,
which is before Matan Torah, before the
hakamas Hamishkan. At that point, there
was no such thing as tahor and teme'a.
There was no such thing as kosher and
non-kosher. The whole idea of kosher is
a novelty that came about b'sheim Rav
Chaim Soloveitchik. "Amru Rabbanan b'ein
son,
may ois son she-asidan we tahor." That's
the girsa of the Maharsha. And now we
have me. At that point, technically,
there was no concept of kosher and
non-kosher. But, there were those in the
know, and there were people that were
aware that one day there would be a
concept of kosher and non-kosher. And
the idea that you were only allowed to
bring a beheima tahora was what will one
day be a kosher animal that you're
allowed to bring on a bama, but what
will one be a non-kosher animal that
you're not allowed to bring on a bomber?
Frankly, the Gamara but we know how they
are. They had to ding know what was
what. So, after you mark through of
Hizda, I'm going to Hizda or Hizda says
that when Noach was told to bring
animals into the table, he was told that
from the non-kosher animals take two and
from the kosher animals take seven. And
the same question, how did Noach know
what was kosher and what was non-kosher?
Said Rav Hizda, have you ever seen a
table? Noach took all the animals and he
brought them to the table and he told
the animals to go with kosher table
called the side. If the animal took more
than two pairs, be a Jewish return. It
was obvious that it was tart. Ain't that
a table called the side? But if the
table only took two, it didn't take
more, it didn't take seven, be a Jewish
shame to me. So, Noach knew how did
Noach know? Have you ever seen a table?
So, there was a messiah. There was a
messiah what would one day be a kosher
animal and what would one day be a
non-kosher? Rav Avahu Amameya, he said a
little bit differently. I'm going to
quote the possuk says
zachar u nekeva. Avahu Amameya, Noach
didn't take all the animals, bring them
to the table and then the table, like
the Urim and Thummim, would somehow tell
the animals, you to the right, you to
the left, right? Exactly who's going to
survive, who's not going to survive. He
didn't know what's a kosher animal and
what's not a kosher animal. Rav Avahu
said the whole thing happened up in
mass. The animals got up by themselves.
They went to the table. Some went two,
some went seven. If it was a kosher
animals, but the point is is that there
was already a revelation of some sorts
of what was kosher, what was non-kosher.
Thus, it was possible to have a law
that on a bomber, even before Matan
Torah, tohorim and temeim. What is
tohorim mean? Kosher. What is temeim
mean? Non-kosher. You're only allowed to
bring a kosher animal on a on a bomber.
How did they know? It's related to the
story of Noach and the table. Says the
Gamara, Amram Avahu called korban olos.
All korban olos that were brought on
bomos, again, this is before Matan
Torah, were olos. Says the Gamara, olos
in [ __ ] and Levi. Seems pretty clear
that only an ola, as opposed to even a
korban [ __ ] Frankly, one has to ask,
how is that possible? Because the possuk
says vayizbechu zevachim [ __ ] and
the context over there is mountain
and by mountain the Yidden in addition
to everything else that went on brought
carbons and the positive says they
brought carbon noise Shalom. Now those
carbon noise that the Yidden brought to
mountain
even though it was after mountain it was
on a bomb because the mission wasn't
going to be built until after the
event happened a little while later you
commission was
Nissan of the following year. So at that
point these carbons have been brought on
a bomb. And they're bringing the carbon
Shalom. So how can you tell me that on
the bomb you need to bring the carbon
they can't bring a carbon Shalom. It's a
positive in the Torah that is the
walking Shalom and
clearly we're talking about bomb noise
because it's before the mission says the
way you have to say it's
a call carbon
this one the animals were allowed to be
either this one frankly the matter of
time you have to
say that says I will Shalom
came meaning the price of that says I
call carbon this you can add a word
always this one. Thus you have no cash
from the fact that the Yidden brought on
bomb noise the shots mountain carbon
noise Shalom. The problem is another
price. That price of says always have a
noise Shalom. If it says have a noise
Shalom then there's no way to edit this
price. So you can't say and Shalom the
price of says before you have a noise
Shalom. Always in Shalom noise says come
on I'm going to carbon Shalom
you have to say
the price of Shalom what the matter is
saying is you have to say there's a
between a Yid that brought a carbon on a
bomb noise and a Ben that brought a
carbon on a bomb noise. When we say
actually who come on mission when the
carbon noise will be brought on bomb
noise it was always in our Shalom noise.
That's referring to Ben
but then again a Yid that brought a
carbon on a bomb noise such as the
Yidden the shots mountain
who brought carbon noise and the
positive says clearly that is the
walking Shalom and
they could bring even a Shalom. So what
carbon noise were brought on a bomb
noise it depends. Are you Jewish or are
you not Jewish? If you're a Yid it's
always in Shalom. The
Yidden the shots mountain
when we say always in a bomb life that's
referring to the
big
but the truth is that whether or not
we're allowed to bring carbon
which we're saying now they cannot is
really the subject of a
different kind of one says
that we're allowed to bring
one said no
what's what's the
matter with that person that a man was
allowed to bring it's presumably related
to a mccarran in the title somewhere
what exactly is the mccarran except the
passage says right in the beginning of
the heaven heavy gun who made the
sign of a woman
so
kind of brought a carbon have a broad
carbon I shall accept the carbon of
heaven he did accept the carbon of kind
kind was jealous kind of all
the rest of history a little bit of
right about that in a few minutes but
for now the passage says that have a
broad carbon what was the carbon that he
brought it was
it was a
it was from the best the choices of his
sheep who make
and of the fats says the
is
they could
it can't be that it was a
because we learned in this
now we're 115 blood in and we know that
in
was
which means all the
was burnt on the
so if the guy was allowed to bring
either an or a
so which carbon was carbon was it an
or was it a
it had to be a it couldn't have been an
because it says
if it was an he wouldn't have just been
the
he would have been
the entire animal thus says the
it must be that it was a carbon so the
man who says that even if he's allowed
to bring a carbon the rise from heaven
heaven brought a carbon it says clearly
that what was he
he held there couldn't have been an
oiler cuz if it was an oiler he would
have been magrid the entire oiler and
hevel was definitely a ben noah. Even
the mishnah melech in parshas drachm
drus aleph that discusses whether the
others were
yisraelim or bene noah.
I don't think he ever cleared the shaila
whether hevel was a ben noah or not.
Hevel was a ben noah and still you see
that he brought a korban shlamim thus
this is the source that the mande amar
says that a ben noah can bring not only
an oiler even a korban shlamim. My time
with the mande amar what does the mande
amar say that a ben noah can bring a
korban not bring a korban shlamim except
it's also learned down from a pasuk. A
pasuk in shir hashirim it says uritzofon
uvou semon. So what does that pasuk
mean? Says the gemara tisnaher umashema
betzofon. Let the uma whose korbanos are
brought betzofon move. The todai uma
shema betzofon let the uma that brings
korbanos in tzofon and dorim enter.
Who's moving? The uma yisraelim are
moving. Who's entering? The yidden. So
the uma yisraelim in this pasuk is very
cryptic. The pasuk in shir hashirim are
referred to as an uma shekol masav all
their korbanos are betzofon. What does
that mean? Cuz they can only be good
korbanos and an oiler is betzofon.
The klal yisrael is referred to as an
uma shema betzofon u bedorim. The reason
is cuz they're not limited to a korban
oiler. They can also be good korban
shlamim. But the bottom line is that you
see from here that a ben noah is
considered an uma shema betzofon. That's
the mande amar that holds that bene noah
when they brought korbanos on a bama
they were only let to bring a korban
oiler. Thank the gemara umarnami
michalveyim. The mande amar that says
that a ben noah is not allowed to bring
a korban shlamim i by hevel it says he
brought michalveyim. Doesn't it sound
like it was a shlamim? Says the gemara
no. You know what it means? Mishamnem.
Chalveyim over there doesn't mean the
fats the chelev the part of the korban
shlamim the one of them is there. It
means the choicest part. Took the best
part of the animal and that's what he
was magrid but we don't mean chelev in
the korban shlamim sense. Umarnami the
mande amar that says that a Bnei Noach
could bring a carbon shlamim. I the
possuk accept olos and zevachim. Isn't
olos and zevachim isn't the drash of
that possuk like the Gemara said, let
the nation shackle myself with zevachim
move away. The Gemara says that's what
it means. Who bikibutz galios with
ourselves bring to kibutz galios with
all the nations of the world? The
nations from zevachim, from doros, and
all the yidden that are living
everywhere scattered around, they're all
going to come together and they're going
to come up to Eretz Yisrael bishas
kibutz galios. Anyway, it's not
referring to an umah shemaysav b'tzafon
thus it has absolutely nothing to do
with Eretz Yisrael. The faith Gemara
v'kaseiv, but there's another possuk
that says v'yeimei Mashiach gam atah
titein b'yadeinu zevachim v'olos v'sinu
l'Hashem Elokeinu. So that's when Moshe
Rabbeinu is having his give and take
with Paroh. He's telling Paroh, let my
people go. Paroh says no, he says yeah.
And then finally Moshe says, now we
don't want you to let us go, but I want
you to give us cattle. Gam atah titein
b'yadeinu zevachim v'olos v'sinu
l'Hashem Elokeinu. So that we should be
able to bring carbonos. Now he asked for
zevachim and olos. Again, 115 lines.
Zevachim usually means shlamim. So you
see clearly that what? That Moshe
Rabbeinu was going to bring a carbon
shlamim. I thought the Bnei Noach
they're bringing these carbonos on
bamos. See see isn't this a meforesh
raya? It's a possuk in the Torah. How
could there be a machlokes tanaim about
something that's meforesh in a possuk?
So the Gemara says it's true, they
wanted zevachim, but over here it was
zevachim l'achilah v'olos l'hakravah.
Zevachim in the context of katzin
usually refers to as a shlamim, but over
here they didn't mean in the context.
They meant it let's have zevachim
l'achilah so that we can enjoy our food,
olos which are kulei kulo that's going
to be 100% l'hakravah. Great the Gemara
another kasha. But isn't the possuk say
v'yikach Yisrael cheil Moshe
olos u'zevachim? Isn't there a possuk
that says that Yisrael took olos
u'zevachim? Olos again is an olah
u'zevachim refers to as a shlamim. So
the Gemara says it's true, Yisrael
brought a carbon shlamim, but I will not
come out and tell you that this happened
after Ma'amad Har Sinai. This after
Ma'amad Har Sinai. This isn't Yisrael
the Bnei Noach before Ma'amad Torah.
This is all happening after Matan Torah.
That's but the Gemara says that's all
possible. Did Yisro come before Matan
after Matan Torah?
This has nothing to do with our
discussion. If you hold Yisro came
before Matan Torah, it's a raya that
even before Matan Torah on Bomois the
Bnei Noach were able to bring not only
Olos but even Shlomim. So the Gemara
says you have no choice but to say
l'manda am I Yisro came Matan Torah
that according to my number of holes
that Yisro came before Matan Torah. So
if Shlomim came Bnei Noach and
he's going to hold that
a Ben Noach was allowed to bring a
Korban Shlamim. Meaning the machlokes is
whether a Ben Noach can only bring an
Olah or he could even bring a Shlamim is
totally in the machlokes is whether
Yisro came before Matan Torah came after
Matan Torah. At first glance the two
machlokesin have absolutely positive
nothing to do with each other. One is a
shaila, when did Yisro come? One is a
shaila, could a Ben Noach on a Bomois
bring a a Shlamim or is he limited? Is
he only allowed to bring a Korban Olah?
But says the Gemara, the truth is the
two machlokesin have no choice but to be
totally because Yisro brought Shlomim.
And if Yisro came before Matan Torah
then you have a raya that a Ben Noach is
allowed to bring a Korban Shlamim except
so the truth is the Gemara is going to
digress now and the Gemara is going to
discuss Yisro. So we're going to go from
a discussion of Bnei Noach
bringing Korbanos on Bomois. Is it only
Olos or is it Olos with Shlomim? It has
to do with Yisro. That's the Gemara is
going to have now a half a Gemara, a
classic Gemara with regards to Yisro.
Before we go by there, so we didn't have
that much of an opportunity to speak out
Divrei Drosh and Divrei Agada throughout
this week. So at the end of this week
tucked away there's a little bit of
Agada and this is one Gemara right here.
The Gemara mentioned the story of Kayin
and Abel. And essentially the
had to understand the positive that
describes Abel's carbon. The positive
says that Abel behaved humble and
so you know who make out there. So we
know that Abel's carbon was signed. It
was a it was a
it was sheep. And then it says
what am I supposed to call him what a
carbon slob. And just like a slob and
only the
is is carbon and that's the emphasis
over here. You probably sign in the
what he was bringing was a carbon slob.
But the man says no carbon means he took
the fattiest part of the carbon. You
will take a look at Targum Unkelos
that's what Unkelos says. I who he also
brought a carbon Abel me back here on a
who me sham in hoy. He took from the
fat. He took from the fatty part of the
carbon. That was exactly what he that's
exactly what he brought. It's
interesting Rashi says that it was
precisely the fact that Abel took me
there according to the sacrifice. He
took the fatty part of the animal that
his carbon was answered. And Cain
however when he brought his carbon he
didn't take the choicest part and it's
for that reason that Cain's carbon was
not accepted. So again we're familiar
with these but it's good to see the
again. Positive says that Adam and Eve
gave birth to two sons Cain and Abel.
By you Cain me pre Adam in
Cain took me pre Adam and he brought a
holy
the Abel heavy who
Abel did the same thing. Abel also
brought a carbon. This carbon was
it wasn't me pre Adam but rather it was
me pre Adam who make out there like we
just saw. By you some Abel
accepted
the carbon of Abel but Cain was but did
not accept the carbon did not accept the
carbon of Cain. By you the Cain
Cain was very disappointed he was angry
by you
but by you some Abel Cain comes to Cain
the The of the story is Cain ends up
killing Abel.
Hashem comes to Cain and he says
Cain ends up getting cursed. Either way,
Cain and Abel both bring carbonos.
Cain's carbon was me pre Adam. Abel's
carbon was me pre tzoin. Abel's carbon
was accepted, Cain's wasn't. Cain got
jealous, he ends up killing Abel. Very
nice story. The problem is what's
missing is Why did Hashem accept the
carbon of Abel and why did Hashem not
accept the carbon of Cain? Posuk shani
in the posuk it's not clear. And the
emes is you would think at first glance
that it's probably related to the fact
that Cain's was me pre Adam. And Abel's
was tzoin. And maybe tzoin, a sheep is
more chashuv than fruit. Right? That's
probably what posuk shani is. But the
emes is that if you read the posuk
beforehand it's there seems to be a
little insight as to why Cain brought me
pre Adam and Abel brought me pre tzoin.
So what did Abel do for a living? He was
a ro'eh tzoin. What did Cain do for a
living? He was an oved Adam. So posuk
shani Abel was a ro'eh tzoin. So what
was he going to give a Kodesh Borchu?
His trumos and ma'asros was going to be
tzoin. Cain is an oved Adam. So when it
came time for him to give a gift to
Hashem, what's his trumos and ma'asros?
It was going to be me pre Adam. So what
did Cain do wrong? It's what he does for
a living. What what do you want him to
do? He should bring tzoin? He doesn't
have tzoin. This is what he is. He's
he's an oved Adam. So he took from what
he does, his hard earned money, and he
brought a carbon to Kodesh Borchu. Abel
took me pre tzoin. That's what he did
for a living. He was a ro'eh tzoin. Emes
is Rashi asks the kashe. And Rashi says
you have to say that just like the Torah
says that when Abel brought his carbon,
he took me chelb ve chein. And like the
Targum Tanchuma says, what does it mean
umisham in ho'in? He took from the best
part of his tzoin. He didn't just take
tzoin. He took from the best part of his
tzoin. When Cain took his carbon says
Rashi me pre Adam min hagorua. He took
the worst peros that he had. Yesh Kodesh
me emes says Rashi, zera Pishton oil."
It was Pishton. That's what it was. So,
he didn't take Michal Bayit. Hevel took
Michal Bayit. It's for that reason that
his carbon was accepted. Kayin did not
take Michal Bayit. It's for that reason
that his carbon was not accepted. It's
interesting Rabbeinu Bachya says on this
pasuk right here that we just had a
Gemara. The Gemara discussed Hevel's
carbon. Was it a carbon shlamim or was
it a carbon olah? Then it says, if you
read the pasuk, pasuk seems to have a
third carbon. The pasuk says
Vayehi miketz hayomim vayavei Kayin
mipri ha'adamah mincha la'Hashem.
VeHevel hevi gam hu mibcharot tzonu
umimechalveihen. Vayisha Hashem el Hevel
ve'el minchato. Ve'el Kayin ve'el
minchato. It's three times in the Torah.
So, it sounds like it wasn't a it wasn't
a shlamim. It was really a carbon
mincha. Interesting. But anyway,
Rabbeinu Bachya says something actually.
He says that there's a Midrash that says
that Hevel and Kayin were 50 days old
when this happened. So, you want to know
how long Hevel lived? He lived 50 days.
50 days he was on planet Earth, and then
Kayin went ahead and killed him. Says
the Kli Says Rabbeinu Bachya that he
thinks there's a remez noira in this
idea. It's not just random. It's a fun
fact that Hevel was 50 How old was
Hevel? 50 days old. Okay, interesting.
In a time when people lived a thousand
years, 50 days is not a lot of time. But
he lived 50 days, right? That's what he
But it's interesting. Says Rabbeinu
Bachya that it could be that this is the
reason that every year when there was a
Beis Hamikdash, the Yehudim on Shavuos,
on Yom Ha'Atzmaut, they would bring a
shtei lechem. The shtei lechem was a
carbon mincha. They would bring it 50
days after Pesach. Sefirat HaOmer Yamin
and then they would go We count 49 days,
and on the 50 days with 50 day, which is
Shavuos, we bring a carbon mincha. You
know why we bring a carbon mincha on the
50th day? It's a remez to the Yom
HaChamishim of Kayin and Hevel's lives
where they two brought a carbon mincha.
So, connected to the mincha of Kayin and
Hevel, we go ahead and we bring a carbon
mincha. Then Rabbeinu Bachya says,
"Wait, that's that's above my pay
grade." Where he says that this was a
cipher Hevel, that Hevel was rewarded.
Hevel brings a carbon. Hashem accepted
his carbon, and 5 seconds later, what
was Hevel's carbon that he was
butchered? He was killed. Stating that,
says the Rabbeinu Bachya, "Your reward
was that
would always bring a carbon mincha
on shvuos. And the reason we do it is
not to commemorate Kayin's carbon
mincha. It's more to commemorate Hevel's
mincha. Either way, I ain't saying
Rabbeinu Bachya says in the flum, but
Hevel and Kayin were 50 days old. Their
carbon was referred to. Even though the
Gemara says
but says the Gemara it was really a
mincha. That's what the Torah refers to
it. It was a mincha. Connected that his
mincha and then we too, we bring a
mincha to Hashem. That's what the
is. It's essentially a carbon mincha.
The Chasam Sofer
on this possuk, where the possuk talks
about how
the Hashem Hevel minchaso the minchaso
but Kayin
lo yisha. Says the Chasam Sofer,
"The reason why Kayin This is the
beginning. This is literally the
beginning of the sefer Torah. Hashem is
teaching us a lesson on how this world
works. Says the Chasam Sofer that the
story of Kayin and Hevel is a very, very
valuable lesson. He says, "Why?" Because
at first glance, it sounds like the good
guy lost and the bad guy
persevered. Hevel was the good guy. He
brought the right carbon. Hashem
accepted Hevel's carbon. Kayin was
willing to bring a carbon to Hashem, but
he took min hagrua. He took zero
percent. What ends up happening? Hevel
dies, doesn't make it past day 50, and
Kayin lived. He showed great kindness.
That's what ended up happening to Kayin.
So at first glance, it sounds like that
the bad person, the one that did the
rusha, was the one who was a rusha the
time life. And it was a time of
So says the Chasam Sofer, "I'm going to
tell you the rest of the story. The rest
of the story is is that the world got
completely wiped out at the time of the
mabul. And who survived the mabul?
Noach. Noach wasn't a descendant of
Hevel. Noach he a descendant of Cain.
No, he was a descendant of Adam
Harishon's third son, his son Sheis. So,
the emphasis says that it sounds like
that even though at first glance it
looked like Cain was going to be zocheh
to see doros yesharim um mevurach, he
was having nachas from his own
offspring, but the truth is that if you
knew the whole picture, you would know
that Cain wasn't going to see so much
nachas because Cain's nachas was going
to have an expiration date. It was going
to go up until the mabul. But then at
the time of the mabul, Kodesh Boruch Hu
says, "Nichamti, I have charatah." He
wipes out all of mankind. All the only
person he saves is Noach. And Noach is
Sheis. But what does this have to do
with Hevel? Says the Chasam Sofer that
Hevel was nisgalgel in Sheis. That Adam
Harishon was 130 years old when he gave
birth to Hevel. And the neshama he gave
birth to Sheis, and the neshama of Sheis
was really the neshama of Hevel. So,
that means that Hevel's neshama, which
at first glance looked like got nothing,
it ends up coming back, it's
reincarnated, it's reincarnated in
Sheis. Noach comes from Sheis, he
doesn't come from Cain. So, everything,
the whole shesh hemshech ends up coming
but ends up coming from Hevel. Doesn't
come from Cain. But says the Chasam
Sofer it's really it's really even more
than that because the truth is that this
neshama that was originally Hevel's,
then was Sheis, would be reincarnated a
third time. And the third reincarnation
was Noach. And Noach himself is the one
that rebuilt the yeshiva. And says the
Chasam Sofer the truth is it was really
going to be reincarnated a fourth time.
And the fourth thing was going to be
Moshiach. So, this one neshama starts
off as Hevel, it's Hevel, it's Sheis,
it's Noach, it's Moshiach. The Chasam
Sofer says it's oisiyos neshama of our
big great zoisiyos neshama. So, the
bottom line is at first glance you read
the story it looks like Hevel, the good
guy, gets butchered after 50 days, and
Cain sees doros yesharim um mevurach.
And it was just the opposite. Cain ends
up losing everything. Hevel ends up
gaining the neshama of Sheis, and he's
Noach, and he's Moshiach. So, this
neshama kedosha of Hevel ends up being a
an unbelievable contributor to Klal of
Israel as opposed to Cain that comes and
goes and is part of that generation that
was completely wiped off the face of the
earth that Hashem says he regretted he
ever created. Either way, a little bit
of the rest of the story. Just one other
and that is I saw the says something
beautiful. The says the
means but what's
the word he also what's the word
word here? What is right in the
beginning of the you have an extra word
here. What is it? What what does it
mean? Says the says the
that the truth is you know very often
the
says the very often people give to
really they don't want to give
they give
because of peer pressure. So they see
that one person did all right I don't
have a choice I'll match you or whatever
it is. Right you have all these but the
point is is that people give not because
they want to give it's not necessarily
coming
but rather they're just copycats. They
see what the other person does and maybe
it's social pressures or whatever it
might be and the bottom is they end up
doing the same thing. So the says first
Cain brought a carbon. Then Abel brought
a carbon. You could have Abel you know
that Abel's whole carbon was just my
brother did it what am I going to I'm
not going to bring a carbon what's it
going to make me look like? So I better
do the same thing. So
that's what the Torah is coming to
emphasize. The Abel Cain brought a
carbon just like Cain brought a carbon
Abel also brought a carbon. He wasn't
copying Cain. No no no. He was bringing
the carbon in the same exact vein that
Cain was bringing the carbon hashtag
peer pressure but either way says the of
again we're discussing when
the
specifically when exactly did come? When
did arrive at the scene? Now the truth
is that if you open up a
it doesn't seem to be so ambiguous. It
seems to be pretty clear. When did
arrive on the scene? It's right in the
end right after which is
the
and
then you have
so what's the the fact is the matter of
the that says that history came after
Mont Tura. I mean, the partial history
begins with the story of Israel, and
then Mont Tura is for Shishi, I think,
right? It's later in the partial. So,
how exactly could there even be a
shalom? So, the katana is really katana.
But he's my history calling me doing
mashmo shamo above in the sky.
How does he know? He says, "What do you
mean? He says he was being a sadger."
Sharix said the seed of it says by
Yachlas Yeshua Amalie some of the
picora. And right afterwards it says by
Yishmael Israel. So, the juxtaposition
between the end of partials Bashalach
and the beginning of partials Israel
which seems very, very clear that that's
when that's when Israel came. Says the
Gamara, "Plus my daughter even not Mont
Tura shamo above." He really came after
Mont Tura. And like the Rambam speaks
out of fear shalom Tura, you have to say
ain muktam um ocher by Tura. Says the
Gamara,
"And what's the rest of the story Shiki
Shiki the Tura of Israel?" Cuz when the
Tura was given to class Israel, are you
calling holy holy 25 of my
life? The color of God went me so far in
my life. The Malachi of the column of
the sun and all the Malachi and when the
Malachi of the column heard the color of
God,
then these were the colors of our scene.
They got very, very scared. And what did
they do?
They started singing to our sham. He was
spooked. Sham as the possum says Ubecha
loy kuloy omer
this God made the Marasha. And they all
came and they gathered to the Marasha.
Omru what did they tell them? "My color
when I say shamo what's what are these
noises? This is scary. Sham and Mar
below below tell me is this going to be
a Mar? I'm going to let me tell them no
no Mar. Mar
Amalie the Israel
and all the words I mean by God she
didn't mean Mar. I said swore never to
be another Mar. Can't be a Mar. Amalie
said they were
they said Mar and they made it really
the color of God when I said
swore that he's not going to bring them
out. Did he mean only Mar
or did he mean even a Mar so they came
now with the other side of the shalom.
Maybe he told me Mar
Amalie Mar shalom.
so they're making
to suggest that judge the world with
maybe because he swore he won't bring a
lie but
he will be talking
no
one swore he's never going to destroy
mankind. They said if so
what are we hearing
come to the table
it's been hiding at
tough kook iron I would go
and get them for 974
years before
and the time has come to give it to so
it was 974 years before this
this was 26 generations later says
together it's LF door
that this is the thousand generations
from when the title was created whatever
that means until I
actually give the title but either way
it says
you want to know what these are hashem
is taking a
something that's been hidden for 974
generations and he's finally giving it
to man he's giving the call
and then
he ate and he means the title
he heard that
he got up and he said hashem
is
so these are the ones that brought are
rather familiar right usually when the
brings like I have to think it's never
heard of
but these are familiar with hashem
by hashem the hashem
hashem
say how many times on
and really this is the
pair of
them
begins
all of
them all of them covered the
and then the says all of them
all of them all of them
all of them
all of them all of them all of them all
of them all of them all of them all of
them all of them all of them all of them
all of them all of them all of them all
of them all of them all of them all of
them all of them all of them all of them
all of them all of them all of them all
of them all of them all of them all of
them all of them all of them all of them
all of them all of them all of them all
of them all of them all of them all of
them all of them all of them all of them
all of them all of them all of them all
of them all Arsinai. But listen now how
beautiful the possuk reads in light of
what the Gomorrah just said. So Kail
Kail Kail there were tremendous Kailua's
going on with Mayan Arsinai. What
happened?
The Malchios of the heard these Kailua's
and it was scared. And what did they do?
They began to sing Shira. And they ran
to Billam and they told Billam the next
words. Hashem
bit me off. Is that what's going on?
another mabul? Has Billam said no.
Hashem swore he's going to be a Malach
they'll never destroy the world again.
It's never going to happen. That a mabul
so Mayan mabul so is. So they said if so
what's going on? So he told them Hashem
Hashem is taking eyes in eyes of the
Torah. When they heard that they said
Hashem
gave brochos to the Yidden. We got
brochos from all the pagan kings but the
bottom line is that is the rest that's
cited in this possuk. That's Tehillim
perek of tes.
The Kailua's Kailua's Hashem Kailua's
Hashem Kailua's Hashem what is that
referring to? The Kailua's of
Tehillim perek of tes are referring to
the Kailua's of Mayan Arsinai. Either
way a little bit more Gomorrah and then
we'll speak out a lot of more rate.
Either way says the Gomorrah a third
cheetah
says Krias Yam Suf
that you want to know what Yisroel
heard. It wasn't Amalek. It wasn't Mayan
Arsinai. What it was was Krias Yam Suf.
That it's the possuk says Yishua perek
hey. It described the reaction that the
Malchei had when they heard about Krias
Yam Suf. So you see that the world was
was very afraid of of Krias Yam Suf.
Yisroel was included. Yisroel heard it
and he did something about it.
Yisroel didn't just hear and they heard
it and that's why he ran and he was
talking that was Megillah. Says the
Gomorrah
said the same thing to Shluchim Yeshua.
The Shluchim when Yeshua sent his
miraculous to go and conquer Eretz
Yisroel said they come to Rachav and
Rachav gives her description of the
events of Krias Yam Suf and how it took
place. And she tells the Meraglim Kisha
Manu Is Asher Hoivish Asher Is Mayosiv.
She too talks about we heard about Krias
Yam Suf and we heard about what an
unbelievable event it was. You see it
was a very big deal. Yesh I heard that.
That's why Yesh I came
Why isn't Yeshua Perek when Yeshua Ben
Nun himself wrote Sefer Yeshua and he
describes what happened. See he wrote
that we heard
that
the people didn't have a Ruach. When
Rachav gave her account of the reaction
of the people to the events of Yetzias
Mitzrayim, she added a word. She said
Why did she add the word Kamma? Since
the word Kamma should normally actually
What she was referring to was not that
they physically couldn't stand, but
rather the Kamma over there is referring
to the Kishrei Eiver of the Eiver
Kashus. And she said that they couldn't
have any Kishrei Eiver. From
where did she know? So the Gemara in the
Shaar HaNavi says that
That's how she knew. In fact, every Sar
and every Nugget in Kenaan had been
boiled. Rachav
actually
She was 10 years old when they left
Mitzrayim. The Zonsa Kol Men Shonim
Shonim Shonim And she was Mezuna for 40
years. Acham Nun Shonim At the end of
the When she turned 50, Neskayra, she
was Megaya Omri. She said
She should have Mechila Beschar Chevel
Chaloynu Pishnim. Those were the three
things that she used to do Aveiros. She
used those same three things now to save
the Meraglim.
And it's for that reason she felt Take a
look at Rashi. Rashi says she Davened to
Hashem that the Aveiros that I did with
these three things should have Mechila
with the Mitzva that I just did with the
very same three things. Either way,
before we go weiter, just two hours.
Number one, so we have Machlokes in the
Gemara about Yishmay Yisrael. What
exactly did the Yisrael hear? One man
says he heard
Another man says he heard My name I see
my I but you see my Israelite before 9
minute I see my and what do you know
about
3rd 9 minute I see my what he heard was
no chemist he heard
take a look at Rashi. So what does Rashi
say? By Israelite 1st Rashi
Mash
crease the on Muhammad
so Rashi makes a little bit of a joke.
Rashi takes two shots. Rashi takes the
3rd shot and the 1st shot crease the on
so that was the 3rd after the
Gamora
and that's the 1st shot of the Gamora so
I'm a little bit bothered
he asks it on Rashi it's not going on
the Gamora
but on Rashi. Rashi says it was crease
the on so on Muhammad so on and he says
that if Israel was impressed with crease
the on so why did he come right after
crease the on so why did he have to wait
until Muhammad so on
it was crease the on so on Muhammad so
on crease the on so so wasn't enough 1st
came crease the on so then came Muhammad
so on it sounds like it was crease the
on so but it was also Muhammad so on
and as if to say one without the other
somehow wouldn't have gotten wouldn't
have gotten Israel to come it was that
for the fact that he had heard of crease
the on so and then he had heard of
Muhammad so on again that's just the
moral of the Gamora but that's what
Rashi says it was both two things it was
because of those two things that Israel
ultimately ended up coming as I said to
Rashi I didn't say to Rashi he says in
the but I was thinking maybe you could
say as follows we must have you know we
know that
describe Amalek as I should have there
what does it mean I should have there so
Rashi says Rashi
that Amalek made the waters of Israel
cold so when they hear the left
doing the flies we just want to go to
the moral now crease the on so Rashi
everybody had heard about this all the
money everybody was spooked from the
Jews they had all heard about crease the
on so and everybody was afraid to say
hello you say as
you had a lot of
people
you got to just write it you write it
you write and father. That's what was
going on at the Christian household. And
at that point, the Jews were considered
to be 100% untouchable. Nobody was going
to start up with the Jews until Amalek
came. Amalek came, they started up with
the Jews. And they
Rashi brings in that even though Amalek
got burnt, even though Amalek got burnt,
but at the same time, they cooled off
the waters for everybody else. Meaning,
before Amalek chopped it with the
Yidden, the Yidden were considered to be
untouchable. Nobody was going to go near
them. People were afraid of them. There
was a certain year that people had in
class. I mean, the people had year of
them, nobody was going to start up with
them. Until Amalek came. Amalek showed
it's doable. And even though they lost,
even though they got burnt, literally,
in Rashi's muscle, but it doesn't
matter. At the end of the day, they
themselves
showed that the Jews could be This what
was once thought to be unfathomable,
inconceivable. How are you going to
start up with a nation for whom God just
split the sea? And God created all these
plagues in Egypt miraculously take this
nation out of its right. I hear. But
they showed it's doable. Once you see
something is doable, it makes it more
doable for the next person. So, then
could be Yisro had the same year for
Klal Yisrael. Yisro heard about Kri'as
Yam Suf. But just like the nations of
the world didn't want to start up with
the Jews, Yisro wasn't going to go
there, either. And whereas for everybody
else, it was a year of in the sense of a
year of onish, for Yisro, maybe it was a
year of onish. But the point is, there
was a year. He He was afraid. He He got
it. He understood what was going on. But
at the same time, he was afraid to come
too close. Rashi, it says
that it could be Yisro after Kri'as Yam
Suf, he was Maga'ya, but he stayed back
home. He didn't want to come to the
Jews. This gevaldig. He was afraid. They
were untouchable. What happened? Comes
Amalek. Amalek came, he cooled off the
waters. He cooled off the waters for the
enemies of the Jews. Now they were
comfortable chopping with the Yidden.
And he cooled off the waters for people
like Yisro. Now they were comfortable
coming. They were comfortable stelling,
too. Till now there was a year. Not a
year of
Not this year that's described in
Rashi's
The year that Rav Azarya was referring
to, a year of Aramis, but the bottom
line, a year nonetheless. So, you want
to know what caused this story to be
Maguire? It was
much more so
CHRISTIAN CHRISTIAN WAS WHAT DID IT, BUT
THE CHRISTIAN only would have cared cuz
he wouldn't have been afraid. It was
after Azazel Azazel came and they
actually dared now he's comfortable. Now
the Jews are so to speak touchable. Now
he can either way that's the connection.
That's Christian Azazel Azazel that's
the first thought. Second thought is is
the Torah
in
Aravah that we learn in
Torah there says it says regarding the
Torah that we learn in Torah
there says it says regarding the Torah
that we learn in Torah
there says it says regarding the Torah
that we learn in Torah there says it
says regarding the Torah that we learn
in Torah
there says it says regarding the Torah
that we learn in Torah there says it
says regarding the Torah that we learn
in Torah there says it says regarding
the
Torah that we learn in Torah there says

there says it says regarding the Torah
that we learn in Torah there says it

the Torah that we learn in Torah there
says it says regarding the Torah that we

it says regarding the
Torah that we learn in Torah there says
it says regarding the
Torah that we learn in in Torah there
says it says regarding the
Torah that we learn in Torah
there says it says regarding the
Torah that we learn in Torah and all the
sorrows the millennia of sorrows that
the Jews have had to suffer through it
all came about because of the Torah and
it's pretty obvious that the Torah what
the Torah
had to do with now all of a sudden the
Jews became vulnerable had we not lost
the Torah
and
the Torah
so I'm thinking as follows we just want
to get more the Torah says that the
Torah in the Torah
when the Torah was given to Israel the
Torah in the Torah says
the Torah that are described in the
Torah and paracord test that we say when
we put the safe of tire away in Shabbos
and Davening. You will call the choir
colors over and those colors were
referring to the colors of my mother and
what was the
reaction when they heard those colors?
They were very very
afraid.
And this guy
and they thought that maybe there's a
marble that's coming to the world and
even though I said so there's no marble
so maybe it's a marble to Finally calm
them down and I said
all it is is the tire that's doesn't
affect you. I said just bring the tire
like you have nothing to worry about.
The Jews will deal with it but this is
not your problem but the bottom line is
that that's what's going on. I SAID
BUT THEY WERE AFRAID. You see the colors
of my mother
the colors of my mother
made them very very afraid. One of the
colors that we say in the hill and
paracord test is
colors of the
obvious fish. What does it mean? The
colors of the obvious fish. Okay
it's referring again to the color of my
mother I see. And so you have
to when he spoke the words of the
obvious fish
They left his mouth
the obvious fish on fire. The next
and they went on the obvious fish. You
want to know how the obvious fish were
written? The obvious fish were
how did I say write the obvious fish?
This is all
but how did it even in the world of
I say write the obvious fish? It wasn't
with the yard of
wasn't with
you men. You know the obvious fish were
written with the pair of
I say spoke the colors. Those colors
were
the obvious fish. They were
they made
they engraved the stones.
And that's how we got the obvious fish.
The obvious fish were an embodiment of
the color of
so my mother once
said
he said that maybe that's an
epic
in the idea of a column right as a
college. What do you mean by writing as
a college? Because the mixture of the
king that was written on the roof was
the color of the college which is a
Russian talent. Either way I was
thinking
either ways I was thinking
you know what we would have had we would
have had the color of the
we would have had the color of the
college with us the daily dollars.
What's the color of the college? That's
the color we just learned. The color of
the college was fear of all the others.
It was a color that
brought fear into the hearts of all the
all the others. Had we still had the
others
we would have the color of the college
we would have the color of the
college this color
IN THE
WORLD
THIS COLOR TALKED AWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF
ALL THE CULTURE WE would have with us
every single moment of every single day.
If that's the case and color of the
others I think it's half of the
either way
You can order right there. We now return
to our regular program which is
says the color of the
college is allowed to bring a color of
the college
is allowed to bring a color of the
college says the color of the college
you know immediately how do you know
that you know he's allowed to bring a
color of the college today?
When there was a color of the college he
was allowed to bring a color of the
college he was allowed to bring a color
of the college anymore stating that a
color of the college is allowed to bring
a color of the college how do you know
that the color of the college
is allowed to bring a color of the
college
the color of the college is allowed to
bring a color of the college the color
of the college is allowed to bring a
color
that it's only allowed to bring a color
of the college that have the
color of the college but the
color of the college
says the color of the college for that
reason called the color of the college
my color of the college the color of the
college
and you can bring a color of the college
it's also for a year to help a color of
the college bring a color of the but
it's also also for us to be a color of
the college my color of the college said
if you want to guide them if you want to
sit down and and help the guy along,
that's okay. I mean, you can physically
help him, but the pass skin for him,
that's something you're allowed to do.
How do we know that? It says in the
Torah,
a maiseh of Rebbi Ephraim Eimdis Rebbi
Ephraim was the mother of Rebbi Shmuel.
She had a carbon She sent the carbon to
Rebbi
She wanted advice from Rebbi how to
bring this carbon.
So, he said a school
she wanted to bring it as a carbon.
So, Rebbi went and he told Rebbi Shmuel
Ephraim and Rebbi
Shmuel were double tray. Umi guloy, go
take two boys, Rashi says, that are the
same age. Interesting Rashi.
Take two [ __ ] cuz a [ __ ] can't bring
this carbon. Benei gil echad, that they
are the same age. Shekein noiv l'dover,
why do they have to be the same age?
Take two people that are very similar.
It's noiy, it's nice for a carbon to be
brought by two people that are the same
age. Maybe this is a a little bit of a
beer
an additional beer and why the shnei
se'irim on Yom Kippur had to be exactly
alike. Sounds like there's some hiddur
in the mitzvah. Shekein noiv l'dover,
says Rashi, for the two bachurim that
are going to bring this carbon to be
very much alike. Either way,
go to a part of the yam where you can
get fertile land. Rashi says land that
no one ever did anything with. V'shiklu
tivcha d'ti take new wood v'afiku nura
m'morasha d'ta and make fire from a new
pan v'asku na'alei l'sheim shamayim and
go bring l'sheim shamayim. Either way,
Rebbi wasn't going to bring this carbon,
but at the same time Rebbi helped Eimdis
Rebbi Shmuel bring the carbon and he
gave her a whole Shulchan Aruch of
exactly how this carbon should be
brought. So, you see that even that
number one, a [ __ ] doesn't have a right
is allowed to bring a carbon on a bama.
A yid is allowed to advise, but at the
same time you can't be hands-on. So, you
can be party on an advisory capacity,
but to actually get involved and to
bring the carbon and to chop the wood,
sounds like that's already something
that you would not allow be allowed to
do. says derech agav from
The way he described it is like
what's this price?
It has to be fresh. It has to be
that it had it used already and use it
now to bring a carbon.
So to the and they were brought every
day had
to
What do you see that? From
needed the
that was going to be used for to be
fresh but also the
he said take fresh wood. Why fresh wood?
Because you can't use recycled wood.
Can't use recycled wood as a carbon.
How could that be from
himself was
said that the
had to be fresh wood but he only said it
regarding the wood that was going to go
on the bear. But by the he's might have
wanted to buy it because one says 18 and
then
she claims all of Mishkol
the context of when the goes to
and what does he buy from
the bias? Like buys the history of it is
why didn't he buy the
The initial reason he bought it was
because there was a
David counted the Jews Russian living in
and David goes and is realized something
has to happen. So the
David and tells David that bring carbon
always and if you going to bring carbon
always that they might get the is going
to stop. Stop. So David goes he buys a
plot of land. He buys it from Arnold
also known as
Arnold. So he buys it from Arnold and
how much did he pay for it? He paid
mayo's shekel castle. He said it is
another that says by eating David
big castle commission. Okay so the
steel. One person says he paid 600
shekel. Another person says he paid 50
shekels. Says the Gemara,
what he did was he collected from each
person 50. What's 50 * 12? 600.
Together it's 600. That's how you
reconcile the 50 and the 600.
Talking about the
two purchases. First he bought
800 and the
cool and the rest he paid 600 for.
Talking about the 800
shekels. How
do we know that? How do we know that he
didn't just buy the
land? But he bought
because the person says
the person says
clearly that he didn't just buy the the
parcel of land. He bought the
the
the clear
he bought more than that. That's the all
these different they're reconciling the
50 or was it 600? Different way. But
what's what's the bottom line? What do
you see from here? What are the
mentioned is the 600.
Clearly said that it's a
that he bought the 800
and when it says he bought the 800 what
did he buy? He bought the
he took his
he took his tools and he used that as
the 800. I thought
it was the one that said that you have
to have
that just like the has to be new, fresh.
So to the 800 have to be fresh as well.
Must be there's a
between the 800
and the
So how could
have told his
who were going to help they were going
to guide
make sure you take
presumably based on
that says that just like the had to be
so to the 800 had to be as well. He
seemed to say that that's only true on
the not on the
because when
brought on the Dovid haMelech bought the
clay bucket from Arnon and he used that
to go
used as the the eitzim. Either clay
bucket were recycled, they had been used
already, it wasn't new. So you see
there's a chelek between the mizbeach
and the bamos.
Who said it wasn't new? Maybe he took
brand new clay bucket. He didn't use
clay bucket that was used. He used clay
bucket that was new. My my reigam, one
of the things that he sold them, my
rabbeinu did was the myrigam. What are
these myrigam?
Okay. My myrigam
is the carcass of the daichan dishai. So
this is some sort of tool that was used
for threshing. It had teeth like the
teeth of a goat. Either way, it's like
some wooden goat. That's the literal
translation.
How do you know that it's a possible he
needs some tichlum myrigam chodesh bal
pipiyos. So you see we referred to this
myrigam as charuts. It's able to make
holes, bal pipiyos, it has teeth. Nachum
bar Rav the brave, Rami bar Rav Dodi.
Rav was on tour with his son and he
asked the same steer. So it says
"Vayiken Dovid." Okay, it said it wasn't
50 or was it 600? So he told him
"Shesh meos v'shesh chamishim." Shesh
meos. He said the first shita the Gemara
brought. He took 50 from each shavet and
it was together that it was 600. But the
freight the Gemara "V'akati kashya na
hadodi." There's still a steer because
chasam kasef achas one pasuk says it was
kasef, silver, the other pasuk was
zahav. It's a big difference between 50
shkalim of kasef and 50 shkalim of
zahav. "Al achi komer goyvei kasef." He
took kasef but it was b'mishkal shesh
meos zahav. So it was more expensive. So
what it what it cost was 600 zahav but
when he collected it, he didn't make
people give zahav. So the currency that
were giving was kasef but as far as the
value of the kasef, it had to add up to
shesh meos zahav.
