Two summers ago I was in Israel with a good friend of mine doing volunteer work with the soldiers there. During the day we spent time strolling around with backpacks, giving out drinks and sweets and exchanging short smiles and conversation. At night we spent time serving hot, dark coffee and cracking jokes to keep the sleepy awake. With those who had energy, we sat for hours sharing thoughts, getting personal and dabbling in the depths of life. I was exhausted, but felt filled with incredible energy and light. One night, I was on the couch, just writing about how I felt. How being filled with positivity and good energy didn’t allow any darkness to invade my atmosphere. And so, heavy walls came about.
