Why Reincarnation? Rabbi Pinchas Winston (complete)

uh we're very privileged tonight to have Rabbi Winston with us who just finished after a long tedious work on translating and working on the essentials from the arals shulim and he's producing next I'm not from Toronto but I do have relatives in Toronto but uh we share uh we both got SM from the same rabbis or some of the same rabbis I should say CIT and R nor weberg I came to aor 1988 and uh brought tonight which are for sale somewhere between 36 and 55 sheo um I mean these are some of the books I think it was the end of days scenarios that I first read um but they're really really great books uh I think another sa I read a little pamphlet if only are wealthy um but anyway Survival Guide for the end of days uh The Hitchhiker guide to Armageddon don't forget that one when you're anyway just passing through the impact on reincarnation on everyday life and not just another scenario I guess that means part two um anyway they're available in the back towards the end of the in touch with you about getting that safer into your hands okay without any further Ado Rabbi I thank first of all making it possible to be here this evening nice sure very quaint I spent a lot of time working on my notes and then I completely ignore them when I have to speak this somehow just can't look down it's almost like something happens that that makes it almost forbidden to do so but uh I'm going to try to stick to them tonight and the next two sessions because it's a very complicated topic lot of discussion lot of points lot of issues a lot of things on one hand is kind of a controversial topic some people have a difficult time believing in the idea of reincarnation Gil guling other people accept it as fact that how could it be any either way right and uh for the longest time I thought also it was more of an Eastern religion type of a thing I didn't know how much of an impact it had in terms of Judaism we believed in it you know and how much we knew about it how important it was the truth is is that uh everything kind of changed for me in terms of the topic one day very nocuous way my neighbor showed up at my front door my next door neighbor uh an elderly person who I love respect for and we had discussions before in the past and he wasn't somebody who was so crazy about cabala so much and I you know interested in me it was important to me and we got you know some pretty heavy discussions and one day he shows up at my front door with his a little black book not like a little black book but a mediumsized black book just one title across the cover it you know it just says right there you know shul I had never heard of it before I had not yet seen much of the arizo L's writings at that point in time but you know he passed it to me and he said to me he said here got a South African accent he said here you know you you take this you can probably make better use of this than me he never did that before never did it after you know just passed the book to me okay you know I took a look at the cover sh have guling I realized it was about reincarnation which was not one of my priorities at that time I had other things to do certainly in the middle of my day so I took that book and I just put it on the shelf for one day to look at you know I'm sure it's going to be interesting you know Gil ghouling reincarnation what you know what what would be boring about that I didn't tou it for the first month or so I don't know exactly how much time this goes back about 15 almost 20 years probably and uh then one day you know I was I to take the bus somewhere and I thought to myself you know now's a good time to look because learning Gamora on the bus is not so easy all the time it's distracting no the bumps all you know small text you know actually going couldn't see as clearly as I once could so I thought you know this is a time to look at something that might be a little easy to read more fascinating so I take it with me and I sat down on the bus and I opened the safer and I haven't closed it since haven't just page after page after page after from the first from it you know the first line the first paragraph it was you know just insight after insight about personal rectification how to fix yourself up what's going on who we are how we function what God expects from us what we can accomplish and then eventually went the whole thing he starts to question his heart it's a very complicated story it's so complicated and so hard to understand that people have used it as the basis of the idea of s Vero bad things can reputation now they stand by the CERN they say a nice spum and you know why is it not enough why must I have to come back and and fix up what in the end so the first thing a person has to know first of all right is that everything in this world is for one thing and one thing alone there is nothing else and that is tikun whether you know it whether you don't know it you accept you don't accept it the only difference is between not knowing and knowing is that if you know it you know what you can you can work on it you can develop a program a plan to to work on you can do the research to get the information to figure how it can be done if you don't know about it it's going to happen happen automatically anyhow it's just a question how many how many yeah t of yourself or t of the world T of yourself will lead to tikun of the world ultimately it's tikun of the world that's the that's the that's the global tikun we're talking about but you start you know they say charity begins at home tiku begins at home right tiu begins with the individual himself you can't rectify the world before you Rectify yourself first that's the stage one it's t it's all about t there's nothing else in life but T it's all all for the sake of TI there's nothing else what you you're learning you're relaxing you're making shabas you know you're going for a walk a cup of coffee it doesn't make a difference you know it's all for the sake of TI so you have to ask yourself the question what's the most productive way to achieve that well what are you fixing up that you have to first understand what's broken that belongs to us that Soul has five parts five parts One Soul five parts what are the five parts from the bottom up neish R and what's about that bu the book that's the one you're used to hearing believes in reincarnation when a person leaves everything to himself in his will when a person leavs everything to himself in his will now I told that joke and someone told me there's somebody actually trying to do that legally right now he that is an Israeli businessman actually trying to set it up and with all kinds of signs when he comes back he must know something I don't know but say he can't take it with you so he's not taking it with him he's going to come back and get it mother Jack Ben said he couldn't take not one of those things they actually ask you but uh anyhow but the point is there's five levels of Soul the actual analogy that they use once upon a time we were able to rectify all five levels since the of we have not been able to rectify higher than the level it's off the table at least until the period of time called the resurrection of the Dead in the meantime we're only working and believe me that is hard enough in fact the re says that most people do not leave the the level of neish what happens if you don't Forever on the level of neish but that's where gehen comes in right there's always you know there's always a back backup plan when it comes to so you said is in fact true because a brain I spent a lot of time in the last couple years looking through the brain I bought one cut it open no just Kidd but uh I I know I just a self- knowledge in the last que well I was actually garbage my yeah but uh no but it's whether we can whether we can for the most part we don't most people don't if you're forced to remember for some reason God let you to do that Bes it but most people do not know who they were in their previous lifetime so you're studying all over again I need to be a teenager all over again God for yeah exactly well he doesn't and you have to right the only thing is is that he makes it that whatever you fixed up does not come back to get runic gate you can't undo your previous successes it's like a trust account right when you leave this world after having fixed that we'll get to this next section goding but you know whatever you fixed up in this lifetime if it's fixed up and you die having fixed that part up it goes away in sham next time you come back you can't undo it otherwise we'd be back in square one every single time making no progress or six out of History it wouldn't work out but five levels of soul and the analogy they use it's like a glass blower you never see a glass blower works you have this molten glass very very hot you can't put your mouth in it because you won't get it off after that right you to do it won't work and I noticed that the things I can do which I'm not so interested using because it's so basic they're black like black text right and the ones that are there they let me know what I can do if I pay $30 for the rest of the program right you know so what happens basically is that is that you you you pay the $30 and then when you type in some numerical key it unlocks the the program and all of a sub the gray ones become black you now have access to higher levels of computer function because you paid the $30 you paid for it right and I thought to myself wow this is before I understood how things work wow that's amazing they were able to put all that extra function in a 10 digigit number because that's all I typed in I didn't download something else it was already in my computer I just typed in 10 digits and all of a sudden boom it all be I have all these functions and then I said to myself but that can't be possible how can you do a thing like that and then I realize the genius these guys what did they do with the initial download everything goes in but it's locked the computer knows it cannot allow you to have access and it's all the I mean the writing and all the uh programming to make it work work like this and this not it was half as complicated as what you have today these guys don't how they do it these these programmers all this code to write it but the computer knows that when it sees this number it's that's you're you permission now to use his other functions so everybody sitting in this room by definition has a NE has a has a has a and
