shabbat shalom I want to mention a few words about Tu today is Thursday night Friday this year's tuba I'm going into Shabbat and Shabbat in in chapter 6 verse 4 and verse 5 this is the Mantra of the Jewish people is here o Israel Hashem Our God Hashem is one and you shall love Hashem your God with all your heart with all your soul with all your possessions I thought love was an emotion I didn't know or I don't understand how an emotion can be so controlled if you have a command to love and it's not just here to love God but to love your fellow Jew to love all of creation to love the convert where do we get off understanding how can we understand that love being in Emotion is a command how can there be a command to love so I want to quote my Rosa no Weinberg Z show his soul should be blessed he explained that just like we see by abrah ainu and many of course him explained this that through seeing Abraham came to understand that God loved the world and he saw all theid all the kindness that Hashem had given him from the time that he was born until the moment that he realized there is one God in this world and he came to love God and through seeing the person's virtues now you do have control over what you think about so if you ignore the person's negative traits or you exaggerate or you focus in on the persons the other individuals uh positive virtues then surely you will come to appreciate that person or those people so this is the secret of how to come to love that you can control who you love by focusing on the positive as it says you shall judge my people favorably righteously you shall judge my people you shall judge your people righteously meaning in the on the side of righteousness we have to look at everybody even those people who we have a really difficult challenging time seeing the good we can actually focus and control our minds and think of the positive and know that there are virtues there's things that are virtuous about the person and if you can do this with your wife which you should and with God which you should and with all of creation you will come to love on demand as they say and it's now we can understand that you could be commanded to love it's not that foreign many people have struggled with this idea and I think that it's very simple it's not an easy thing to do it's a simple concept the question is now all the work that we do as uh re AKA mentioned that this is the CL Tor is the greatest principle of the Torah and greatest may not mean only that it's the prime but it might mean that it's the hardest but it's the most rewarding and it's not only going to benefit you and the other person it's going to benefit the whole world by you judging the other people favorably God judges him favorably and in return judges you favorably it's a it's a win-win win so on this tuba of I pray that we truly truly try to understand the depth of how to bring about love on command and that's through truly seeing the good in everyone around us and with that shabbat shalom
