Honoring Israel is Equivalent to Honoring Hashem Yisbarach with Rabbi Aaron Dovid Poston

This is continuation of the for the yum yim rash yum kipper. But as we know we're domining for the whole year, right? So the concepts are applicable not just on rashash shana but this is a deeper understanding for rashana but hopefully we bring these concepts into the whole year. It's based on the safer rein Freedellander. Um, and we're just continuing. We're on page 23 in the Hebrew and 24. Uh, the previous class we discussed, Hashem, grant honor to your people. Hashem, why are we asking Hashem to grant us honor? Isn't it all about praising Hashem? Isn't it all about the honor to to the almighty? So the question [clears throat] is why really are we asking for honor for ourselves if that's the case? Because those words certainly seem right the word honor actually he explains means appreciation that grant appreciation to your people. We're talking about for the non-Jews. They should appre appreciate the Jewish people. I mean, I just cannot believe the amount of ignorance that has, you know, pre spread through the whole world and in the in the um, you know, under the banner of anti-semitism, even anti-Israel, like just anti-Israel alone. I mean, if they only knew that what we're really doing, whether it's in Gaza, Lebanon, wherever it is, that we're doing everything we can to protect innocent people, to feed innocent people. Unfortunately, we're also uh feeding the enemy. But, okay, that's not for now. If only the world knew what care we take. Um, I'm not even sure huckically that's the it's it's the right thing to do, but doesn't matter. at least in the world's eyes, they're being duped. They're being lied to. Um just to think about the amount of you know um discoveries and creations that the world is using that comes from the Jewish collective brains you know whether it's it's it's in computers whether it's in science whether it's in health it's unbelievable that they have noar they have no um real you know love for the Jewish people they're being so lied to you know in the end of days they're going to be judged And they're going to say to God, "Everything we did, we built uh toll booths, we bought, we built bridges, we built stadiums, we built marketplaces, we did it all for the Jews." You know, God God doesn't say you're liars. He says, "You're fools." Because it is true ultimately everything they do is for our benefit. But they don't realize it. They really did it for themselves. And if they, you know, if they're real Bench, they really truly uh understand the God of Israel, Abraham, you know, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of Israel, and serve him properly. And that's what we're talking about here, that they're giving honor to whom? The servants of Hashem. We have a responsibility to be servants to Hashem. And that's how the paragraph begins Israel Hashem is that the there's an equation they're actually equal and that's a bold statement to make that the honoring if you honor Israel it's equivalent to honoring Hashem the creator of the universe. He says you need to understand let's clarify this prayer that we're you know embarking on on rasha is mainly its main theme its main concern is about the revelation of the heavenly kingdom that's what we're praying for. You are over and above means you have a great amount of responsibilities. And I repeat over and over again, my father told me, you want responsibilities in life, son, comes privileges, right? You want privileges. It all comes as a result of responsibilities. And these doors are not closed, right? We have people in this room, we have in the room behind me, a conversion program. People on their own have decided to become part of the Jewish people. And that's really happened ever since uh actually when we stood at Sai there were many of the Egyptians according to the clear who brings down a multila there was 1.2 million let's say twice the amount actually there's three opinions 1.2 million remember there were 600,000 of us 1.2 million of the Arab that join the Jewish people there's a second opinion 2.4 and then the third opinion is 3.6 6 million. Anyway, so he says, right, we're in the third line in the middle that when the goyam will finally realize hopefully sooner than later that the entire purpose of creation is the service of Hashem. Then automatically they will honor they will appreciate those who are servants of God. And who is that? Israel is that is the ultimate fulfillment of or the purpose of creation to what? To ultimately honor Hashem. They will ultimately honor Hashem by honoring the Jewish people. You are honoring Hashem like it's written. Just imagine what it says. If you want to look up the verses in in numbers 31 verses 1 through3. I'm just going to skip because he doesn't bring the whole verse or verses. [clears throat] Hashem El Moshe. God spoke to Moses and what did he say? not that we should take vengeance for the Jewish people from the and then that's what God said to Moses but what did Moses say that we should take vengeance for God imagine that on one hand God is saying take vengeance for the Jewish people and Moses is telling the people take vengeance for God there's an equation See that question is the why did Moses change the words of God? God originally said it's what Nickmas Ben is but Moses changed it and um he changed it from Nick from Nickmas Ben Israel to Nickmas Hashem taking vengeance for Hashem. Why did he change the words of God? Moses himself changed the words that God commanded him to say. Take vengeance for the children of Israel. And Moses changes it. Take vengeance for. And we all know the word of Moses is actually the word of God. But why did Moses change it? because of this important statement that anybody that stands against the Jewish people, it's as if they are standing against Hashem himself. Rashi there says on that Pik, "Anyone opposing Israel is reckoned as opposing Hashem's Barak in the comment down below. And he brings down in I don't think I have this right. [clears throat] Yeah. In numbers chapter 10:35. So this is when whenever we would travel the arodesesh would go forth. So whenever the ark set out, Hashem would say, "Arise, O Lord." When right, may your enemies be scattered and may those who hate you flee from before you. It's a very important verse. Rashi on that verse says, "What does it mean? those who hate those who hate Israel. For anyone who hates Israel hates the one who spoke and the world came into being. As it says in Psalms 83:3, those who hate you have raised their heads. And who are they? The next verse tells you, they who plot dev deviously against your nation. Who are those who hate Hashem? those who deviously plot against the Jewish people. Uh this is incredible. I wish that those believers in the Jewish scriptures would understand how damaging damaging it is to them in their relationship with the Lord to come against even to raise your hand even to raise your voice against the Jewish people. Otanu the road theme Aarenu and the question is why are we hated and why are we prosecuted why do they chase after us rocklain it's only because of our faith in Hashem and his Torah by the way hatred came into the world and we're not going to talk about right now really on a certain level the sale of Yseph But on a greater level at Sai the name Sai Sinai right is actually Cena hatred came into the world when we stood at Sai and accepted the Torah whatever whether you want to call it jealousy uh envy um you know even regret that they didn't say yes however it is that is what we were taught and they only hate us because of our faith in Hashem and our faith in his Torah. So what comes out that if God forbid someone tries to harm the Jewish people, they're harming the honor of heaven and one gives when one gives honor and let's say appreciation to the Jewish people who are o heem. We are the servants of God. And if you want to look at Isaiah 53, we're talking about the suffering servant. The truth be look through the 40s and the 50s where God through Isaiah speaks about his servant Israel. His servant is whom? Israelis, right? Who's carrying the uh the honor of God? The one who serve him. and they are that and they and that is by giving honor to the Jews. You're giving honor to Hashem. That's why our prayer is that the world should give honor to the Jewish people because we want them to believe in God. Now, it is true. We have to act honorable. Okay? So, we have to get with the program, right? We have the 613 mitzvah, right? We have the 13 principles of faith. We have all kinds of amuna issues that we have to deal with, but it's much more difficult when we're being persecuted or actually maybe that will help us focus. But either way, uh, the non-Jews have to get their act together. Now, the next part is toil. We say, "Glory to those who fear you." Now, again, it's not just the Jews. We're talking about the non-Jewish world. glory will go to those who fear you. So at the in the end of it mentions that when really close to the coming of the Messiah in other words the uh the footsteps as we're approaching the coming of the Messiah those who fear sin those who fear God those who fear sinu they will be despised. This will be a very difficult time. There will not be much uh value or importance placed on those who have a a healthy fear of heaven. which is the of then automatically what comes out is that those who fear sin will be despised and will be shamed or even abused which is the opposite of being praised. Right? We said glory to those who fear you as opposed to what happens through persecution after redemption comes after Msiah comes the final redemption even the non-Jews Hashem at that point everything will be so clear the knowledge of God will fill the world, right? Just like the waters cover the seabed, the knowledge of God will will be throughout the world and everyone will understand the great stature of those who fear sin or fear Hashem. Why? Because the sole purpose, the goal, the ultimate goal of man is to reach the level of awe of God, recognition and awe of God. Like it says at the end of Cohelis, the end of Ecclesiastes elim the verse basically saying right the sum of the matter. This is King Solomon, the smartest man who ever lived. The sum of the matter when all has been considered is fear God for that is the whole purpose of man. Hallelu. And then certainly when the final redemption comes and the Messiah, the gula, the the in gathering of the exiles, the the building of the temple, then the whole world will certainly um glorify those who fear you. And we'll read the next paragraph. We also ask and good hope for those who seek you. Again, this also includes the non-Jews. Russia Shunna, by the way, is not a Jewish holiday. It's a universal universe holiday. It's when the world was created. So, who are those? Those are the ones who seek Hashem and they want to come closer. They want to come close to Hashem. and they desire they want to know what God's will is for them in order they can fulfill God's will however in order to understand to grasp what Hashem really wants his true will you need a tremendous amount of assistance from heaven you need heavenly assistance. That's what we're requesting. That we're praying that those who are seeking God's wisdom and knowledge of God and closeness to God should be granted it and have good hope. In other words, a positive uh response, a positive uh request and they they should get there. I listened to a beautiful uh story about a convert from Haiti today on living. Unbelievable. He was obviously a Christian at the time and he was investigating the Hebrew scriptures and he was on Tik Tok or one of these uh social medias and he wanted to know about the Trinity. Is it real? Is it not real? And somebody said to him, somebody responded and said, "It says in the Torah that I'm the Lord your God. I'm your savior. There is none else. Hashem is one. And he became he became a Jew and his wife and he had children. Beautiful story living. Okay. Again, so the last thing we said was you need a lot of heavenly assistance. Now in order to really grasp the will of God that a certain degree of hope all you need is just a like what do we say I'm not sure if the Christians say it but we certainly say it right that this idea is that if we just want to open our hearts and our minds like the the size of that hole in the needle and Hashem will make it even bigger. So you have to just start with some hope even a little bit a certain degree and then everything works out according to the concept there's a concept brought down in migilla 6B that you got to if someone worked hard in in terms of their Torah learning in terms of their toe in in terms of their their real desire to know God and they found it, you can believe them. But if someone said they didn't work hard and they found the truth, don't believe them. Right? So it takes work. It takes work. However, the question really is to what degree, how [snorts] much do we need to work at this uh in order to understand the will, the true will of God. This is really the intent of our request. That's the smallest amount, but it's good hope. It's I grew up in Philadelphia. We have a uh actually there's this little town called New Hope. But anyway, good hope, new hopeisman. When is this? When is this time that you're looking forward to? We're want to be merit. We want to merit for that particular time. at the time of redemption that those who seek Hashem will finally reach that true perspective that God is one and they'll serve Hashem properly will be el and they will actually attain their goal completely or perfectly and that's we're all looking forward to but you can get it now you don't have to wait right you can have one foot in all and another foot in olabah right it's through the connection to the almighty he was is and will be he's beyond time and we know that haba exists right now because it's eternal if it's if it's eternal it means it exists right now and by you building up your own mitzvah your own knowledge of God your depth breadth of learning Torah you are already building your palace in the world to come anyway we'll stop here and we'll continue this next week.
