When I was younger, I used to go to
camp.
And my camp used to like to take us to
baseball games.
And I remember the first time I went to
a baseball game,
thousands of people on the bleachers
gathering together.
Maybe 30,000, 40,000, who knows.
So many people gathered,
took a day off of work to come together,
and I said to myself, "If so many people
are gathered together right here, right
now, it must be it's for a bigger
purpose."
Why did they all come here? Why did they
all take a day off of work? What are we
about to witness? What are we about to
experience? And I was waiting for that
moment when they're going to get up in
front of everybody, the people down
there, and the and the and the field,
and they're going to get before the mic,
and they're going to announce the
purpose of life. That's what I was
waiting for.
I thought everyone gathered for
something much deeper.
And I'm waiting for the moment. And all
of a sudden, they have a guy come up,
and he's standing at the triangle,
the home run,
and he's standing over there, and he
takes the mic, and he starts singing the
Star-Spangled Banner. And you see
everyone takes off their cap, and they
put it right over here. They look
I'm thinking this is a very emotional
moment. It's a very serious moment. And
everyone looks very stern. You see
everyone's face is very serious, and
they look down, and I'm waiting, okay,
they we have to get into the mood right
now. We're going to have to get
everybody emotional. He's going to
announce the purpose of life.
And then, after that, they say the
Pledge of Allegiance or whatever else
they say.
And finally,
you see a guy gets up before the mic,
and everyone's waiting. And I'm waiting.
And he says the purpose of life in two
words. You know what he said? He says,
"Play ball!" That's all he said.
"Play ball!" And then from the audience,
you hear somebody scream back, "Popcorn!
Hot dogs! Burgers!" And I said, "That's
the purpose of life?
Playing ball? Hot dogs? Beer? Get drunk?
Revel? Have fun?" This is what the
purpose of life is to these people. They
all gathered here for this mission.
And as I grew up, I started to wonder,
"Really?
This is what people devote their life
to?
You had an opportunity to gather so many
people. Mind you, to gather 50,000,
30,000, 20,000 people, You even 10,000
people, is not an easy task. It's very
difficult. To gather so many people in
an audience, in a stadium, and bring
them all together, you had the
opportunity to reveal to them something
so meaningful, something deep, something
that's going to change their life,
that's going to mold them forever. And
instead, you told them play ball?
This is what it is? That's what That's
all you had to say?
And then I realized, you know why it's
not publicized in every billboard, why
the world doesn't talk about go to the
next world, remember there's a life
after this world, you have to perform
its vote. You know why? Here's the
answer.
As I grew up, I realized the answer is
because we live in the world of Shaker.
This world is called Alam al-Shaker.
It's deceitful. It's a world of lies.
And in the world of Shaker, you're not
going to hear the truth.
The Shaker is very allergic, very
allergic to the Emmet.
But our mission in this world
is to try to find the Emmet amongst
amidst all the Shaker.
The word Emmet is truth.
How do you spell Emmet? Anyone know?
Emmet is spelled Aleph, Mem, Tav.
From the moment that you come out of
your mother's stomach
until you leave this world, you have to
find your purpose in this world, and you
have to live up to it.
This is why the first two letters of
Emmet is Aleph, Mem. You know what
Aleph, Mem spells? Em, that's your
mother. From the moment you come out of
your mother's womb
What's the last two letters of Emmet?
Mem, Tav, that's death.
Till the moment you leave this world
from the Em to the Met, Emmet
you have to figure out what is the
Emmet.
That is why Emmet is spelled the way it
is. That's why it's pronounced the way
it is, to remind you, Em, Met.
You have to figure out what is that
purpose.
