I'd like to dedicate the shar today to
this young man
Nol
uh a boy from a very very very special
family uh here in Ro She
for close to 30 years.
um
extraordinary family, ties to Kabad,
ties to the
the great Rabanim here in in Bamesham
and to the wider community, role models.
And this young man in particular was a
great role model of those boys who
joined the Ked units of of of Sahal. He
was in the net brigade and he was part
he was killed Nebach in a booby trap set
for these soldiers who were clearing
away terrorists. He was a giore but more
most importantly he was a bentora and he
had the quality of sima and that quality
can never be taken away from us despite
his tragedy. his whole Mitsus who as you
can see his smile if you can
here you go
was Mame his family and everybody around
him
said in one of his um
um
a shocking thing he said
that sometimes
he felt that Cly Israel could no longer
wait for Msiah because of the acute
suffering we are we are undergoing
even in his day back in his day what he
witnessed in Russia what he saw through
the holocaust lived through the
holocaust he saw in America and uh
through his lifetime and that doesn't
include even the era the last several
years
in particular but he said the only
response that we have that can give us
strength is three is the word
simka will be the ingredient that breaks
through this darkness and therefore
I personally I'm taking on the goal that
they put out in the Shiva in the Shiva
house the sitting Shiva that you have a
choice of mitzvah to do in his memory
while I chose the mitzvah that I think
represent him the most is try to make
somebody smile every day I don't know if
I'll be able to accomplish that uh all
the time but as much as I can And uh we
should just know that the great simra is
coming. And his passing brings us even
one step closer to the ultimate simra
which will be the re complete
reunification of Hashem with Kal is on
Harabas in the B mikdesh which is a
place of only joy. We're getting closer
and closer. And I want to dedicate
today's shir
as well. Um to all those who are still
in the clutches of of kamas that they
should be returned and those that have
perished that their body should get to
cover
and these days as we said last week
should transform into simka. Okay. So
today we have a very very important
topic and I think it's very contemporary
as well. And it's something basic that
we all need to know although it's far
from simple. I begin with a question.
And of course let me just let's give you
the context here. What is going on? What
is happening in our world right now?
Okay. As usual, our Shir's purpose
primarily is to take the limuyomi, what
Clai Israel is learning at that
particular moment in time and look at
the len look through that lens, the lens
of Torah and see what we can learn from
there, gain from there to help us
understand and comprehend the times that
we we're in and the various mitzvah that
are therefore incumbent upon us. So Kai
Israel every every single day learns a
portion of the and as I said the limit
of dafayomi has become almost uh
universal among those who treasure
Torah. So that supplements
uh in a modern era fashion the the a
daily learning program for all of Kalai
Israel. And of course there's the moium
and the that we experience in the
various times of year as we've just
entered past the gateway of the 17th of
Tamos which was yesterday
and um therefore we need to take a look
at the events that are swirling around
us. Number one issue of concern is what
will be the end in Gaza? Here's this
young man that fell in Gaza. Will we
need to be there? What is the future?
Will we cowtow to the pressures of the
world and even the pressure the immense
pressure that's coming from America
to make an accommodation with with with
uh with kamas or not? In other words,
will evil be uprooted from that cursed
place or will we still be battling it?
As we say, when we when we battle a mo
there's stages. The first stage is to
weaken a Malik. But the eradication of
Amalik, that is a far more challenging
task. So what will it be? We're all
wondering. We hear pronouncements coming
out of America, the White House. Oh, the
deal is imminent, but what deal would it
be? And will it be a benefit for Kal
Israel
or a disaster? This we we need to do him
for. I think it's interesting to note
that on the day that
uh Netanyahu Ben Netanyahu prime
minister was invited to the White House
this past week, the week before
um
Shabbas other words was yesterday
Sunday. He was there and his primary
meetings were Tuesday, Wednesday and
Thursday. Now those days are days of
great celebration in many camps of the
Jewish people. These are days in which
the Labavature Rebby was freed from
prison. The original
um the the the
days of redemption. the Babais different
ones were were uh prisoned for their
efforts to teach Torah under under the
Tsarist rule under the later under the
communist rule and that's a day of
celebration but also the 15th of Tamos.
So if Sunday is the 17th of Tamos then
Friday is the 15th of Tamos was the day
that Netanyahu came home. The 15th of
Tamos is a very interesting day because
it's a day of Daviding in honor of the
great sadic the um that is buried uh in
Batarat
whose perish we are all familiar with
and um or came to for a brief period for
just two years
But at the at the onset of a period of
time which is critical for Kong Israel
and that was in 1742
which represented the beginning
of the final day a millennial day before
Msiah must arrive 5500. Now 5750 which
is halfway through was already back in
1990. We are 35 years into another
41-year period. And for those if we if
we separate the years based on the idea
that every hour of the millennium if you
divide it into 24 hours is 41 and a3
years. We are completing the early
afternoon the first section of the early
afternoon which is uh substantial. Mina
is here. We've already kav min on the
day of Friday and and um we're passing
through a transverse of time which has
the potential to flip into incredible
simka and moade and we're really really
waiting for that. We're looking to see
if these nine days that are that are in
the future and the beginning of the
three period that we have started are
really a sign of of flipping over that
the gilina is coming and the there shall
be a complete transformation of the
sadness and darkness of this era for
celebration in Simka with what the
eradic the eradication of evil to its
core and also the the vindication of
Clai Israel in its essence. Of course,
in addition to those events, I I would
like to suggest that when Netanyahu was
in the White House uh on these days,
there were two events that happened that
prevented prevented the them from
focusing and on Gaza completely. And
that was the tragic flood, the tragic
Texas flood. Um, which occurred Bo, the
day that they were supposed to meet, the
primary day they're supposed to meet.
And then later of course the tragic
death of these young men of uh Moses bin
Davidid finest stars of the netuda
brigade religious the religious brigade
thei brigade
which showed great aus in the Jewish
people and brought so many people
together in solidarity and outpouring of
just support amuna singing. It was a
funeral that I attended which was unlike
any other that I had attended and
descriptions of the praises of this
young man and his simple faith, his
wonderful wonderful sim,
his resolve, his strength, his moral
clarity and his ability to reach and
touch others.
I I think he's like a central point
almost like a national loss but a loss
that reminds us that brings out in us
the necessary the necessary feelings
that that we can that will help us
overcome
petty differences politics and even
anti-semitism. Let me explain. There's
another major thing that in in the
context of of uh Bum and Bolock's
efforts to curse the Jewish people.
Those are not efforts from many many
generations ago. They are ongoing each
and every day of the year. In fact,
Kazal were ready to include parasum the
matu aliakov and all that into the
regular dvening, but they said well it's
going to lengthen the dabing too long.
And
in looking at the fact that the main
question of this immediate period has
been will we be able to remove evil and
terrifying threats from the Jewish
people that are coming from all sides
and continue to come from Iran Aresh
even after even after they're beating
down. Now they're talking even more
violently towards us. They've been hurt.
militarily,
physically, their ego, their pride. And
that is something that they don't easily
forego.
So, we need immense protection from
Hashem at this time, especially not to
allow evil to reestablish itself as a
threat on our borders. And Israel is
continuously battling the the creeping
arms of evil that seek to re reemerge
from their holes that they've been
beaten down to. whether it's in Lebanon,
whether it's in Syria,
um in you know, or Gaza or Iran. So,
it's a it's a major major battle time.
So, the fact that the focus was taken
away and these two events, the the the
Texas fire and the then the loss here
served to highlight something very
unique.
the the rallying point of good because
in response to these two tragedies
there's been an outpouring of aus and
muna and solidarity
that is fathomable and even if you
follow the Texas tragedy you will see
that there were it was a faith-based
camp there that was trying to teach good
morals at least good morals to the
gentile world
and apparently
uh faith-based communities are there
being the responders. In other words,
that tragedy that happened to children,
Nebah, children swept away by waves,
children in summer camp, small kids
can't even, it's unspeakable,
unspeakable horror. Uh brought out a
response of solidarity and strength and
faith. And it's noteworthy that that is
a trend in America albeit the equal and
opposite trend exists in the threat. So
as this is such a poignant point that I
want to convey is that as good good
which comes from solidarity, caring,
concern, love, rescue, help emerges in
Israel continuously and in in in places
in the non-Jewish world, the hatred, the
division and the battle of of taking
down everything that's good and holy
also exists.
The current the current um candidate for
New York mayor,
I look at him and say this is
unfortunately
the political future of of America as we
know it. Unless the tide completely
turns. This is this is a person who
presents nicely, who's handsome, who's
speaks well, he's got all the uh the
qualities of a leader, but what he
represents is pure evil. And what do you
do? What are you going to do about that?
and to present candidates that are
ethically, morally highly compromised
as his as his rivals who are the who
have done despicable things
unfortunately or at least been accused
of such such as the former uh Governor
Cuomo or even the current mayor who
seems to be a good person and and wants
wants the right things but has a little
bit of a unfortunately
checkered history in terms of his moral
uh administration of of his office. How
could you how could you put those
candidates one or the other up against a
person who's coming from what he calls a
principal position principled and pre
presenting evil in its most attractive
terms. freedom, liberation,
helping the poor,
uh, communism, taking down the rich,
letting people who are who are, uh, who
are underprivileged, experiencing all
the wealth that America has to offer,
although we know that leads to complete
ruination. So these and then in Israel
too and I'm making these comments
because this is all introduction to this
year that there's a pitched battle on
two incredibly difficult issues. One,
the power of the Supreme Court and the
attorney general which are fighting the
sitting government of Netanyahu and his
ministers
and on two major points. One, they wish
to topple Netanyahu from power for not
any particular reason other than he's in
power and they don't and they want to be
in power and they have me immense power
to dictate the political and uh how
shall I say military political control
over Israel. The Supreme Court has a
tight grip. The attorney general is just
a part of that tight grip and they have
the ability to overturn whatever a
Knesset would do. Whether it's to
approve a law which would create a a
wonderful compromise or solution that
would bring peace between the Kedi
community and the secular communities.
Not that there's a difference but uh we
help them find solutions that would work
for both or to keep the pressure on uh
to treat uh people who wish to learn as
criminals. This is untenable for a
Jewish people. We must recognize our
true spiritual nature and at the same
time be responsible for security. Those
not those are not a steer and they never
have been and there are solutions. But
the will, but the unwillingness,
the unwillingness to make peace, the
unwillingness to stop fighting for
control and allowing the will of the
people to emerge in its goodness, in its
highest sense is absolutely incredibly
difficult, as is the government's doing
quite the opposite of what it needs to
do in Gaza. feeding the enemy,
supporting the enemy, uh capitulating to
pressure, renegotiating or renegotiating
deals that to begin with are untenable.
Feeding your enemy
is something that no one in the world
could comprehend. Imagine if Mexico sent
morers into Texas and committed this
particular set of heinous crimes that
kamas did with the intent of destroying
America, right? Would you then take the
population over there and feed them and
support them? You'd make everybody leave
and you would obliterate that that area.
It's logical. And yet the greatest
injustice in the world. We are forced to
feed and provide for our enemies who
wish us only death, destruction, and
suffering. It is mind-boggling. It is
mind-boggling that we're dealing with it
this way. It's reminiscent of what Rabbi
Nakman said about how evil sustains
itself in the world that it's fed
through a back channel. It's literally a
personification of what Reinhman said in
his teachings. He said, "How is it that
Hashem is Mafares? The people in the
world who are most evil, his his
greatest um uh contestants, his greatest
crit critics, his greatest deniers.
There's a mechanism by which Hashem
doesn't provide Sheffa uh directly to
them, but he actually provides it
through a a a polluted channel, but
nevertheless, it supports them." and
Hashem is feeding our it's the same it's
the same thing. Now why? So now let's
ask ourselves why. Now, in order to to
look at this these these uh this
conundrum of of of this problem of when
and can there be
a unification around good
versus the struggle to
to dominate against the will of the
people and the will of Hashem in the
world. What what what's the break point?
How do we understand this a little bit
better that we're living through we're
living through these moments so
painfully each and every day but also
with great hope because we know we're
moving towards a positive resolution. We
know who's going to win. We know that
side of Tovo triumph
as Balak and Bum were defeated in their
attempts to uproot and curse Kali
Israel. So too so there's there's much
to look at in this past week's para to
offer us both hope, encouragement, and
insight. out. So, so I'm sorry for that
long introduction, but I wanted to give
everybody the context. This is what
we're going through. We have to
acknowledge it. We're
in a very tough spot and and yet
despite all this all this tightness and
suffering, there is mamish mamish
wonderful things that are happening.
I'll give I'll cite you one example.
This week, what happened was one of the
most strident and evil voices of
accusation against the Jewish people was
slapped with sanctions. It's absolutely
unheard of. The the power of the United
Nations, its credibility in the world
allowed it to set up systems, its
courts, its raorurs,
its presidents
in the guise of doing good to promote
some of the most venomous voices of
hatred against Israel in particular.
That's what the UN is and has become as
it says in the Mishna
in Sanhedrin
Allah. when you bring together United
Nations but for the bad it's bad for
them and it's bad for the world it's not
it's not good a United Nations is not a
good thing
is
it's better for them not to be so united
in in their causes because nothing good
will come out from it not for them and
not for the world so this woman Mrs.
Miss Albanese
she should be completely completely uh
erased and her voice completely stopped
and Adaba she like Bam should be forced
to acknowledge the good of Israel. Miss
Albanese is a representative of what
actually took place in the para was
taking place in the parha. She could
only voice curses against the Jewish
people. Her reports about the situation
in Gaza inevitably were horrible
critical voices calling for genocide.
She wrote letters wanting to condemn,
wanting to sanction. She is she was the
mccantre being paid to do that of course
very handsomely by the UN and who knows
who else. But the main one of the main
voices of Kitrug that had quote unquote
legitimacy in the world and finally
President Trump, God bless him, uh
stopped her, gave slap sanctions on her.
She can't come to America anymore. She
can't appear in the United Nations.
She's she's banned from New York. It's
wonderful. I'm sure she'll go and, you
know, in the H and spout her hatred
there, but there's plenty of places to
do that. But wow, a slap in the face. A
slap in the face, a closing of the
mouth. This is the bum experience when
Bum Boak want to be Mikatre and want to
destroy both the reputation
and and the attitude when a Mam Danif
was a candidate for the most Jewish town
in in Kutzlar. It's in New York City, a
home where there's so much Torah, so
much Kadusha, and all the branches and
all the yeshivas and Brooklyn and all
the way down to Lakewood and so on. But
in the most important and the wealthiest
and most powerful city in the world to
have a makatre at its helm
who can only speak ill of the Jewish
people is the pitched battle that's
being fought and that was what's being
fought in the para and the protagonist
in this week's para were as follows. We
know there there were three Adam, they
spell out Adam, the soul of Adam. The
battle within Adam for good and evil was
played out in three glorious
personalities that would champion the
day and will continue to champion the
day. Abraham,
okay,
uh Moshe who was a bikini and David who
was also Adam spelling out Adam. So bum
and bol
which by the way their letters together
scramble and produce the word amalik
uh are the as it says in the para raius
goal.
They are the the polar opposites that
Hashem created
to Claudius Israel which is called
races. Right?
And this is the precise
um battle that has become not subtle,
not behind the scenes, which is always
there,
but now to a to a boil, to a boiling
pink ever since October 7th when the
anger and hatred spilled open like a hot
kettle. and and and by the way has been
burning around the entire world with few
voices to condemn it but lots of
miracles from Hashem and support and we
we we are getting great support from the
chosen leader of America who Hashem one
year ago
saved him from certain death
was one year ago exactly this is the
anniversary that President Trump was
almost shot to death and Hashem
preserved his life to do things like he
did this week by shutting down the the
the bilum dicka voice of the raptor of
the United Nations to uh to be
sanctioned from even appearing there.
Unbelievable. But now the great test
will be what will happen with Gaza. Now
I can't go into what Gaza represents,
what represent. We've talked about this
in previous stream. I want to focus
today just on villain B
and take heartfelt
uh encouragement from what happened
because what did happen.
What did happen was that Bum who Hashem
created as a possible competitor to
Mosher Rabenu himself but also a
contrast to those two personalities to
Aram and also to David and of course to
Jacob Ainu who represents Israel or
Claude Israel. Let me begin.
We say inos
in the uh in the uh final chapters,
do you want to be a tal of Abrahamu
who created the pathway back towards
Hashem for the world
that Noah could not complete. Then you
have to have three particular qualities.
All right.
toba
nephesha
and ruy
toba means a good eye.
You want good for people. You look for
the good and you seek the good bum on
the contrast was exactly opposite. The
Mishna says
and if you have the other things the
opposites of these three traits you will
then be
ask the Mishna what's going to be the
end of the medium of which we are he
says they will be um richly rewarded
we're rewarded to to achieve worlds that
are much more than physical worlds
spiritual closeness with Hashem that's
unparalleled and that's coming and um
Sam and filled with wealth and good
fortune. That's our pathway. What
happens to the Tamil of Bilma Russia
including this France Albany whatever
her name is and every other voice of
Kitrug uh that that screams around the
world non-stop and has always screamed
around the world non-stop till the final
redemption
is they are
They have a yusha called ganam and they
go down to the pit. Now usually is the
afterworld. So what does it mean? That
in this world they have ganam. They have
no happiness, joy and satisfaction in
this world because they're consumed by
their hatred. All they can do is try to
knock down the kak of Israel. That's
their purpose and that's certainly not
something that's going to work out too
well because Hashem always
so it's not going to be very successful
just as bam was not going to be
successful. So they get in this world
because their designs are foiled time
and again think about Iran. Think about
its proxies. what they've experienced in
this last two years, the death and
destruction that has been reigned upon
them from Hashem using the the um the
Israel as its as its yad mak and other
other yad yadim also that came in. So
it's a losing cause. Bum is by
definition a loser. His bum bolak's
attempts to rival and up up upend the
Jewish people are doomed to failure from
the very beginning and that's what the
Mishna says that he is the exact
opposite of Aram who is doomed who is
who is destined for success no matter
what au is avaongy Abraham today we
speak about the Abraham accords is still
from since time memorial the voice of
goodness brotherhood love, joy,
acceptance of God, gratitude to Hashem,
and rejecting evil. Now, when I speak
about good and evil, I'm I'm going to
paraphrase it in the language of the
Mishna. What is evil? And of course it
goes back to ganeden but the three
primary problems of evil are spoken out
in that Mishna
which means are you looking to do good
and see good in the world in others and
yourselves is a huge point of Rabin
Nman's teachings which is
psychologically healing beyond belief
both internally and externally because
internally if you have a hatred voice
towards yourself all the time you're
going to be a crippled person you're not
going to do anything or not reach your
potential anyway. Because every time you
have a good idea, nah, nah, you're no
good. You can't do it. You don't have
what it takes. Uh, you should be guilty.
You're ashamed. You did bad things. You
get nowhere. You go nowhere. You got to
be a a bima. You gota you gota look for
the good. The only way is through
finding the good in yourself. As says,
focus on the good things you've done.
Focus on the the the joy that you have
to be a privileged member of Israel in
the era of Msiah. That's not so simple.
I have a dear friend who's very
spiritual person and um
went through a long beautiful path of
chuva and he said to me he said we
cannot begin to appreciate the fact that
the Jews who are alive in this
generation are actually the ones that
made it all the way till the end.
Imagine all the families of the Jewish
people that were assimilated and lost,
destroyed,
didn't bear fruit, didn't have
continuity, didn't have children. They
were cut off. They were cut off from the
gener from from having representatives
of their own bloodlines here in this
year of Msiah experiencing. And we
didn't. What did our families do? What
merit did they have to get us here?
Incredible. Every single Jew in the
world has incredible merit
just by being alive. Hashem has given
every Jew in their our world a chance to
make these choices to choose to align
with Hashem and the Jewish people with
empathy and with concern and with
charity and with respect for tradition
and respect for the for the for land of
Israel for the people of Israel instead
of focusing on honoring our enemies,
feeding our enemies, politically backing
our enemies and trying our best to
affiliate ourselves
with the Mamanis of the world. Yeah,
there is Jewish congressmen who even
represent from neighborhoods and
congressman assemblymen who say, "Yeah,
yeah, this guy's great. He's going to
help the poor and he's going to do all
kinds of good things." We know we know
what chaos is coming if he wins. We have
to really do for all our friends in
America, all our family that he doesn't
because it will be it is it is a
breakthrough of evil of major major it's
a major pure
because uh already already Chicago is
fallen Los Angeles fell a long time ago
but if New York falls
then uh then maybe we have to then think
about what's the destiny of America
despite the attempts to write the ship
that have been going on and the good
things that have been happening. Will it
be overwhelmed by evil in the end? We
don't know. We hope not. But um
so the the characteristics of having an
evil eye, remember Bum lost an eye. Why
did he lose an eye? Because in part of
his blessings of Cla Israel, he tried to
say, "I want to examine their Roa
Israel." Ro Israel means that literally
their reproductive uh uh acts. That's
just disgusting. And Hashem said, "What
are you looking at the conception of the
Jewish people?" What was his purpose? Of
course, he wanted to terminate the
future of the Jewish people
by by cursing our very ability to create
children from the core to put a curse
into the conception of each and every
Jew. But for that indiscretion, for that
unchased un unsanua thing un he lost an
eye and yet that's the that's the that
was the physical manifestation of ra
literally he tried to put in har in the
zer Israel into every single Jew that
would ever be born in the future. He
failed because Hashem does not low he
beat a bacov. Hashem has a good eye
towards the Jewish people. Hashem is
extremely patient, generous, and kind
with the Jewish people. For we have an
important mission to represent Hashem's
name in the world and create kush
Hashem. This young man created a massive
kush hashem just with who he was and how
he fell. That is a a story of the
greatness of the Jewish people. So,
Hashem looks
Hashem does not look with a bad eye at
the Jewish people. He tries to be he
gives the opportunity of every
we always have opportunity to pick up
dust ourselves off and do better. But
that is the counterbalance. Would you
have so number one root of evil is the
evil eye rainto?
Second one is
Ru Gavoa versus Ruinu
was humble. When parro came to take
Sarah, he said nothing. He said
he doesn't rise to battle. Yet when it
comes to protecting his nephew Lo, he
defeats the army of four of the most
powerful nations ever to walk the globe,
including
umar
Omar and and Nimrod. Unbelievable. With
a handful of people, he defeated
empires. How could this be the same
person? Because for himself, Aram was
like this. I don't want to take
anything. I don't need from Saddam one
shoelace. I don't need anything. I just
want to do good. I want to plead the
case of Saddam. Even if they are the
personification of every mida that is is
bad. I'm going to plead for them.
They're in my land. I will try to help
them. I will try to correct them. Okay.
Aram says I don't need the money. I
don't I don't want anybody to say I need
a is on the take. He's doing it for the
money. He's getting paid.
No. So
means I don't I'm not arrogant. I don't
believe that I'm entitled to the entire
world. Whatever Hashem gives me, I'm
want to be honest. I want to have
integrity. I want to bring my activities
in line with honesty and integrity.
Abram says, "No, I don't even need a
shoelace from you. That's the level of
my integrity." And then at the same time
there's the there's Bum who sought Malay
Baso.
He said to he said to Boak, "What I
really want is immense wealth. Give me
the immense wealth and I'll do for you
that favor. I'll put my bad eye on that
one tiny instant when
Hashem is angry at so to speak
and I will not curse." We had it
recently also.
Okay.
So focusing on the evil is the core of
Lashinhara and this is what is
characterized by some of the things that
are now being upended. Let's be grateful
to Hashem that number one that Albanese
has been sanctioned. Let's be thankful
that the ICC court has been sanctioned
that was speaking liel and genocide
against the Jewish people. Let's be
grateful to Hashem that the press,
especially the New York Times and
especially places like Harvard
University, intellectual,
so to speak,
um, origins, wellsp springs of hatred
for the Jewish people,
you could just laugh. I saw a headline
in New York Times, not that I'm looking
to read it, but it said, "Okay, Israel
killed x amount of people of Gaza,
including children." That's all they
have to say. They have nothing else to
say but evil. Nothing. And have ever
never uttered a kind word or the
righteousness of the Jewish cause in
Erit Israel and of Judaism in Central.
The founders of the New York Times,
including Arthur Arsberger,
and I know this from my from Balabatin,
from my shel on the Upper West Side,
paid a false chaplain in Columbia
University, one of the seats of hatred
to be present and make sure that if a
Jewish chaplain, so to speak, got paid a
salary from the New York Times founder
to see if that if any Jews seem to be
getting close to the religious community
in Manhattan, there were certain rabbis
and people are having a Ashbon kids to
make sure that they they don't bring
that Yiddish kite to Columbia
University. And I had one one
congregate, very wonderful person who
said, "I want to make Shabbatonim. I
want to do Kiru here." And this chaplain
called him aside and said, "We don't do
this here at Columbia." And then he said
to me, "What's going on? Who are you?
What are you?" He says, "Yeah, I get I'm
a quote unquote chaplain. What what
what's your job here?" Oh, you know, I'm
getting paid. I'm getting paid to make
sure that there's no Yiddish guy taking
root in Colombia. even though there's so
many wonderful wonderful wonderful from
people including many of my dear friends
and myself included who were supposed to
attend Colombia
uh but made the decision to rather go
learn in Israel. Okay.
Okay. So the New York Times
is embattled.
The the media CNN lost a lawsuit
for what I think 12 or $16 million for
doctoring the de the the words of the
former presidential candidate
Camala Camala whatever her name was to
make her look intelligent and compelling
and to defeat Trump. And he he sued
them. They're being sued. They're being
outed. Their false reports are being
uprooted. The media is in shambles.
The the the government itself, the
Democratic Party is in shambles because
of their of their collusion theories.
And and not only that, but it goes to
their connection. in the Democratic
party with the FBI agents, people like
Comey or somebody who manufactured
falsehoods, these dosier, the Russian
dosier against Trump to defeat him from
power. And that by the way includes
in Israel the the parallel of the forces
from the opposition parties who just for
for the sake of being
how shall I say destructive attack Natao
keep throwing cases at him whether it's
this gate or that gate or Qar gate or or
or
that he got cigars or that he got a
bunny rabbit. I mean, even Trump has
called him out. And there's another
friend that Israel has. It's a
triumvirate. Trump Bi and Bolsiniro who
was a who was a ofi. They're also trying
to get rid of him in the worst way in
Brazil. A horribly horribly um you know
uh attack on a person who's bringing
blessing indecency over there.
And uh Trump called that all out too and
threatened sanctions there. So see he is
speaking good. He is at least trying to
stop up the voice of evil and that's
very good. The big problem is
can he tap down his gya? Maybe the
anniversary of his bullet shooting will
be the difference. He'll remember that
it's not his job to save Kamas and to
support the rebuilding of that place.
There's one future for Gaza. complete
desolation until such time as the Jewish
community returns. Period. End of story.
It should be desolate of all population
except when the Jewish people will
return and cause it to flower and
blossom. That beautiful area will return
curse place to the place of incredible
braha. For those you remember visiting
the Gushkativities, you know what I
mean.
Okay, so that is one protagonist. Bum
versus a bum is also pitted against
Moshe. The cphere
teaches us and this is onarium
in the very end of the Torah we say
but but there was a person who was a
parallel creation to Moshe who had the
potential to go the levels that Moshe
went but actually went in the exact
opposite d direction
and
we identify bum as Who is that person
says who
moi? Let me explain. Bam and bor were
the two figures bes
we say it to seder. Lavan was a pro
protagonist against Jacob Vainu
and of course tries to prevent him from
creating the 12 tribes which are above
the curse of Bum as we shall see and um
and then he came back in the form of a
fellow named Kushan Ramsay claiming that
Israel belonged to him again the same
story love and thinks everything belongs
to him and he came to reclaim it in the
period of the shaft and that's really
bilharami so he is the opposite it
personality also of not only Jacob but
Moshe. So how is that? Let's understand.
Mosha Rabbenu
and Bum both had immense potential.
Except
as Moshe rose in greatness, Bum
descended. In fact, I'll tell us that
Bam at the end of the day, it says
Maniko
Bak tells him, listen,
you not only didn't curse the Jewish
people and get your reward, but it turns
out you even lost your ability to see
that one time which to curse. All Bum
knew to do was to bring curses for
money. And that's the combination of ra
the the rua the arrogance that desires
great wealth and of course nepes the
third element that he's compared to in
the mission contrasting to
is seeking uh illicit gratification and
pleasure and that's why kazal have this
incredible incredible perish that the
bilum the donkey of bilum
was uh and by the way I have to say the
dafyomi of this week confirms the fact
that the idea of riva or relations with
between humans and animals is the norm
among the non-Jews if they're not being
supervised left to the devices or being
taught by their leaders that this that
this is evil.
It's unbelievable. People developed
these keshers with animals. Bam and his
donkey.
They were much more than transportation
according to kazal.
So
the ultimate seeking of low
gratification
whether it's food or relations or
whether it's just a lust for wealth or
whatever it might be it's degrading.
Mosherenu goes in the opposite
direction. Bum goes. So that you might
think of them as points that started
here potential. As Moshe ascends higher
and higher, Bum goes down to the lowest
level where he's not even a ni anymore.
He can't see anything in whereas
Mosherenu was available at all times.
penny mal penny there's a lot of
articles written about what this phrase
means of the cifray what do you mean and
what was the purpose of creating bum and
the gar tells us on hedin that it was
because the again we had in dafomi just
recently is about that the nations of
the world will come for their reward for
learning Torah right
but um but will be denied will be denied
because they they they came for their
reward because they had maybe helped the
Jewish people in a backhanded manner but
certainly not the photo to Torah.
Okay. So,
and so also this votar that we just had
a couple days ago confirms the fact that
what bum was involved with was is not
uncommon and it's
uh I don't want to mention it but there
is a a very famous very degraded film
coming out that came out America a
number of years ago was very famous
which made an which which um made
reference to the fact ironically these
people were all from Texas. In this
movie, the lowest lowest
um forms of murder, adultery were
common. Just common, including
including that perversion of being with
animals. It's unbelievable. It was just
Yeah. Yeah. That's what it is.
Moam had a chance to raise the non-Jews
of the world. But what Hashem in his
infinite infinite wisdom and irony said,
"I'm going to pull some good out of this
desperate place anyway. I'm going to
pull some good out of bum. I'm going to
have him prophecy and speak the good. I
will force him to do precisely the
opposite of what he wants to do. His
curses will be transformed into brahos."
And by the way, his blessings were also
blessings laden with curses inside. And
we got time to go into that, but they
were all reversed for the good. And
Hashem will use the voices of the
non-Jews to testify to the fact that
Hashem has chosen Israel and they
deserve to praise us and praise Hashem
and they're going to be forced to do it
like it or not. Okay, that's the message
of Bill. Now I just want to conclude a
couple minutes about a little more
detail about what Bill's prophecy
represents. So let's just recap.
We have to be extremely grateful
for how on so many fronts the
eradication of evil to its core
is going on but with equal and opposite
push back for the com condemnation of
everything that is good. But the good
news is is that we're winning the war
step by step by step and quickly
this pitch battle is going on. And just
like in the end, Abum is forced to bless
the Jewish people. So to the world will
eventually and perhaps pretty soon and
it's already turning recognize the
greatness of Hashem and the greatness of
Kalisrael and support our return to
instead of fighting it to the Harbay
without fighting with every fiber of
their being. And this is a dra pash but
just very quickly Bum's donkey stopped
three times.
One was in a sada where it could go two
directions, one was in a karam where it
could only go in one direction
and one in a makamar which was no
nowhere to go. So say
mashim say that the these are called
three times but that is reminiscent of
the three holidays and sukus which
represent our abos. So the first time
was representing Arainu. The mala says
stop you cannot curse all the children
of a only two thesh and the children of
coutur later on but not straight ahead
which is fine. So bum says I can't
attack from there. Fine let me find
another weakness. Let's look look at
ysuck's children. says the malaf to the
donkey to to bum you're now in a mish of
a of a kum
karum is going to be only a wall and
then there's no other direction to go
there's only one way to curse and that
will be in the student in the children
of yak there will be uh um yakov and as
you can only go the only negative is
going to be on the as side bum says okay
well Maybe I can go and get Yakov then.
But Yakov became a Makumsar and he's
loving, right? He's Yakov's main
protagonist. So much so that love and
Jacob made a pact and they put Gal as it
says in a separation line that loan
should stay in and he should stay in
Israel and say that the wall was a was a
stone wall like the stones that divided
them called galade and that's what the
donkey crushed the regel again the foot
of of bum onto the wall and to show hey
you love one remember you can't touch uh
the children of of uh of Yitz. You're
not Yetsz and you're not as good as the
children of Yitsak. And then when he
goes to attack Yakov himself,
there's Makamar. There's nowhere to go.
He's stuck as it were. And my son
who's a wonderful young man, God bless
him, came up with a beautiful har and he
said, "Billam brought seven altars.
Rashi tells us to negate the carbonos
that are listed in say verb bracious
um by armu four by yak
one the isle and by yakov
um
two okay so that comes out to seven
seven altars and each one he brought a
par in an aisle he said look hashem
yakov brought yach
one IO. I'm going to bring you a par and
I a big bowl. Wow, much better.
But Yakov
uh he doesn't even discuss what happened
to Yakov because he can't even touch
Jacqu. So my son pointed out it says
shri by by bum. If you look in the in
the carbonus of the shaolm of
specifically about the first reg pes
it's a standard carbon it's also brought
in two bulls two not one two bulls right
one is
and seven sheep that yakov he says
that's a was the was the two
and is connected the pariet is a and
yakov against the seven sheep doesn't
try to bring sheep as a Carbon the sheep
represent the souls of the Jewish
people. The complete multitude. Every
Jew that would ever exist came out of
the flock of Lavan that Yakov protected
them and eventually they would be they
would be redeveloped into the souls of
the Jewish people in Mitam and go
through that refinement and eventually
stand in Torah can't touch Jacob. And if
you look at the bum, you will see that's
exactly what Bum's lesson is.
First of all, he says,
he doesn't talk about. He says, I tried
to get
maybe I could have gotten him a little
bit, but I can't touch
your modesty, your honesty,
right? your integrity, your your
sanctity, everything that he's not can't
touch him. Loheed and bianov, Hashem
does not look with a bad eye towards
Jewish people because the Jewish people
don't have a bad eye and hopefully never
a bad eye towards anybody anybody else.
And also he says Jacob does mitzvos
with even dirt. We can even take dirt
and cover it with the blood of a fowl.
That's shifted. He says the Jews, you
can't touch them because they bring
Hashem into the most simple things. And
we bring on the other hand tuma to the
most simple things. And bam attacks the
Jews in in afterwards by sending those
who are connected to Bal Por and a vodor
that's about going to the bathroom for
goodness sakes and making it a visor and
and and in in that way kills 24,000 Jews
mostly from the tribe of Shimon
because right after this episode he says
go bring the daughters bring the
opposite of a
let's Let's bring the Jewish men into
the Oel of Midan and Moav.
Can't go into it, but there's a very
strong connection between Moav and Push
that we're seeing played out today in
the modern day uh Gaza who live in the
land of the Pushim, but that's for
another time.
The Nva Bum therefore
constantly constantly references Yakov
because Yakov is the untouchable, pure
and holy Jewish people that are a
benefit to the world and will never
therefore be allowed to be destroyed
because the world hinges on our coming
through on our generating our
rufa and our nephesh kitsara
and and and um
are with humility, with kindness, with
not wanting pursuits of desires, but
with seeking spirituality and Torah and
help. And so the last point is so my so
my son pointed out, look at the holiday
carbon of the holidays. It's the par and
same as what Bum brought, but no in
Bum's world, only in Regel because that
represents Yakov and Yakov is
untouchable. I'll add perhaps that
there's two pim on the on the carbon of
rodish which is also called a moade and
why not just one and one equal to bum.
So I've thought perhaps there's two to
show that um no we are we are going
beyond what bum saw.
Apar generally represents the nations of
the world and the ay represents
the father of Jacob who built his
12watim. No, we're going to take it on
double and we're going to have the
responsibility of the world on our
shoulders like in sukus we bring 70 but
in we bring two two one for ourselves
and one for the rest of the world which
will eventually come around to sing our
praises. And uh and finally finally
perhaps the most important thing of all
but this will end.
Bum saw the future redemption through
Msiah.
Um
the Rambam quotes that the ver verses
that came out of Bum's mouth predict two
Msiah two messiahs.
Who were the two messiahs? Not mashia
Ben Ysef, Mashiah Bened as in more in
the Zohar Kabala circles, but rather
David and Bened as if to say is to say
that in the era of David and Schlommo,
we tasted Msiach. And we're going to
elaborate on this in great detail
perhaps closer to Shabb. We tasted
Messiah. The era of David and Schlommo
was a preview of Messiah. And that's
what it says. It says, of a star shot
forth out of Jacob. That's a reference
to David
Behudah is the eventual Melik Melik
Mashiach which will be only a descendant
of David. So bum's dual prophecy and
it's explained by the Rambam in
goes through the text of bum which we
cannot do more today but how he saw
shortterm the messianic era of David
Schlommo but even all the way to the end
of time to our era the era mashem where
we return to Israel and we're in the
throws of the the unfortunately the
birth pangs of Msiah but everybody knows
knows that a birth pen will lead to a
massive masletov. So don't be concerned
as much by all these voices against us.
They eventually will turn in our favor
and they're a necessary step that we
will survive just as we survived the
attempts of bum as we began and entered
our way towards Israel. Have a good
week. We should and thank you for for
listening
>> rabbi.
>> Yeah.
>> Yeah. The only thing that troubled me
from the you said the bra the clothes
were reverts to brahas
>> and I remember learning that they did
not endure only one managed to uh to
to maintain it.
>> That's not true. That's not true. Bum's
words are part of Torah. In fact,
parha's bum. This section of the Torah
was given to Mosher Rabenu word for
word. He wasn't even present. Nobody
nobody was present when this was
written. It was Bum's contribution. In
fact, when you write a safer Torah, you
say that you know the to it has a
different status than the rest of Torah
because it was contributed from the
nations of the world. They too will make
their contribution and the blessings
will be nay. We don't have time to talk
about it now, but you can connect with
me a afterwards and you can show me what
source you're referring to. But this is
Torah. It's eternal.
And uh and wanted to show that even from
the depths of depravity, which is what
bum represents,
utter evil will also be joining in the
good. Blessed love, which is a very very
encouraging thing. All these people will
eventually turn around and uh join our
voices. they will learn the error of
their ways and and um love of the Jewish
people and love of Israel will come as
long as we do it as long as we have
internally the kawak to love each other
and to love Israel to love to mitzos and
not compete with each other and have a
bad eye on each other and and and detest
you know the the growth of Torah and
spirituality the amrael is heading in
that direction those who are trying to
prevent it are are losing and will
continue to lose hashem just like Iran
just like
just like Nasala just they'll suffer the
same thing. Okay. Got to stop here. All
the best. Call me if you wish. Okay.
Bye-bye. Thank you.
