Do you know any super successful people
who are normal? Cuz I don't.
I actually was having this discussion
with a business consultant and he was
talking to me about his clients who are
like high-end
uh usually entrepreneurs but CEOs,
people who are very successful, at least
uh financially successful. And he says,
"Um, you know, but a lot a lot of them
have like really messed up lives." And I
said, "What do you mean a lot of them
have messed up lives? I'm sure they all
have messed up lives." And he's like,
"Well, why would you even say that?" I
said, "Not my expertise, your expertise
and the clientele you're talking about.
There's no there's no one that's normal
among them." And I said, "Think think of
one that's normal." And he said, "You
know what? You're you're right." I said,
"Yeah, I know I'm right." He said, "How
did you know?" I said because anybody
who's successful to that degree
either a if they were normal which
doesn't happen but even in theory if
they were normal but living that
intensity of a life that's required for
success on that level has made them not
normal or B which is really what happens
they were never normal to begin with
which is why they pursued
such uh an intense
way of
of I mean I'm going to give away the
spoiler but um finding comfort, finding
solace. Okay, so I guess I should
explain what I mean when I say these
people are not normal and maybe even I
include myself among them but that would
be arrogant because I'm talking about
people who are super super high
achievers. So who am I to say I'm a
super high achiever? people who are
super high achievers and I'm saying
they're not normal. I'm not saying it's
a bad thing. I'm just saying it is what
it is. And normally the situation is
talking about highly sensitive people. I
don't know what that term means to you.
I know different people use it to mean
different things. When I use that term,
I'm talking about souls that struggle
with embodiment. Souls that come to this
world and never quite feel settled in
their body. And so they're disturbed by
everything of this world like sensorial
stuff and they pick up on emotional
energy and they're very sensitive to
that and um you just uh people who are
like like an antenna so to speak and
never quite settled, never quite
relaxed, can't find their their
serenity, their peace. So, and and and
rightfully so because they're so
sensitive and they're feeling so much
and they're processing so much. So,
obviously they're a little bit
irritable. Well, these people, two
things are true. One is they're
irritable, so they need some type of
distraction. A lot of them choose
self-medicating through drugs and
alcohol. Um, a lot of them choose
distraction through being a workaholic,
having like a special interest and then
excelling at that and becoming the
world's greatest at that. By the way,
those two forms of distraction are not
mutually exclusive. You could have
somebody who's who's executing on a
level of excellence and self-medicating
at the exact same time. In fact, very
often is the case. And it bewilders
everybody like how can he accomplish so
much and be a drunk? Well, it's the same
cause for both of those things. So, it's
not shouldn't be such a mystery to you.
Um but at any rate, so that's one thing
is they're they're they're distracting
themselves with um with work and with
the passionate commitment to this vision
or whatever it is. So that's one thing
this self soothing through distraction.
And the other thing is if someone is
that this sensitive, they do see things
that other people don't see. And when
you see stuff, you know, information
has value. Information is money. Now you
can buy information or you can be the
person who sees things that other people
don't see. People who
well anyone who knows how to invest well
whether it's real estate or stocks,
startups, that's seeing what other
people don't see. Uh or even people who
can like come into a company and they
can see how it's functioning and
understand where the problem is and how
to fix it. That's seeing what other
people don't see. or people who
understand markets who understand what
the public is going to
suddenly realize that how could we have
ever lived without this that's called
seeing what other people don't see. So a
sensitive person a they need a lot of
self-distraction
work is a great way to do that having a
vision that you're passionate about is a
great way to do that. So that's that's
one thing, self-distraction. B, they see
what other people don't see. You put
that together, what do you have?
Visionary entrepreneur, right? But
that's not a normal person. That's not
Don't say, "Oh, it's such a shame. He's
so driven, so successful, so creative,
so innovative, but he's a nut." No,
that's that all goes together. That's
all one thing. Don't be so confused
about that. Now, I don't want to leave
you with uh with a hopeless feeling. If
you're watching this and you're
identifying with this, by the way, if
you're watching this and you're
identifying with this, go to
soulwords.org/donate.
I'm 49% joking. 51% serious. Give
whatever you're comfortable giving or
don't give at all. That's not the point
here. If you want to give, certainly
give and every dime that you give will
go toward bringing information like this
to more people. But this is YouTube.
This is free. This is for anyone who
wants it. So, no pressure. I I was, like
I said, I was 49%
uh joking. 51% serious. If you like
identifying with this, you you know,
this resonates with you where you're
extremely successful in certain areas of
life, specifically financially, but like
really struggling in personal
relationships. So, a I want you to know
you're not alone. Pretty typical. People
don't talk about it. They don't
advertise it. There's a lot of shame
that surrounds it. So, people don't like
to talk about it. Um, but B, the thing I
want you to know is this. We were all
sent to this world for a mission. We
were all sent here to accomplish
something. And we were sent here to I'm
going to over oversimplify for a moment.
To accomplish two sorts of goals.
One sort of goal to accomplish is to do
something massive with our skills. the
areas that were already blessed. If you
are blessed in a certain way, then you
have to do something awesome with that
and you probably already are. But then
the other area of accomplishment in life
is to take the things that you're awful
at, the things that are your handicap
that are that are disproportionately
difficult for you. And I stress the word
disproportionately because there are
certain things that are difficult for
everybody, but then there are things
that are disproportionately difficult
for you. Like why is it that difficult
for you? And those are the areas that
we're supposed to take little baby steps
in if you struggle with your private
life while having a public life that
other people envy. So today, instead of
doing another thing that strangers can
admire you for, I want you to take 5
minutes to make a meaningful connection
to someone close to you, preferably
um your spouse or your children or your
parents or a sibling, but a close
relative, and reach out and and reach
out knowing that you're not going to do
it awesomely.
You're not going to hit a grand slam
home run. And that's okay. Not
everything you do has to be awesome. Not
everything you do do you have to be the
world's best. There are things you do
that you are awesome and the world's
best. That's that's great. But do this
thing that's hard for you and do it with
humility. The humility of saying it's
okay to not do it well. Or like they
say, anything worth doing is worth doing
poorly.
It's counterintuitive.
If it's worth doing, it's worth doing
well. No, no, no. If it's worth doing,
it's worth doing doing poorly. If it's
worth doing, then it's worth doing it.
Even if you'll do it poorly.
Counterintuitive, I know. Difficult, but
um so so important.
