Why do I feel so uncomfortable [music]
in my own skin, especially in social
settings and around people?
>> [music]
>> We just feel awkward. And one of the
answers, at least for many of us, is
that in a deep [music] place, we don't
like ourselves. We don't accept
ourselves. Internal sense of
self-contempt, self-hate, self-loathing,
self-shame. We're afraid that other
people are picking up on that also.
[music] We're projecting on them. If I
hate myself, and I know myself better
than everybody else, you must hate me.
You must think I'm weird. You must think
I'm crazy. So, of course, it creates
tremendous anxiety. [music] Every
morning, when we wake up, there's a very
special prayer that we say, "God, the
soul that you have imbued in me is
perfectly infinite and pure, taharah."
When we can really meditate and
integrate into our nervous system our
inherent, unconditional, infinite value
that remains [music] non-negotiable.
Even if I don't believe in myself, God
still believes in me. This helps us
create more awareness to be able not to
fall into the trap of self-loathing and
self-consciousness.
