>> I heard a ma ma yerida unbelievable
story recently from a a rav that I'm
very close to.
He told me that a Yid came over to him
and say and told him I'm leaving out
some details
that I need to tell you a story. I need
to tell you something.
He says, "My son-in-law was involved in
a very very tragic framing that someone
in the government tried to halt and to
uh stop his business from processing,
he's a manufacturing business, and tried
to stop him because they got a they he
he didn't like him. He says it was
completely false and it was obvious to
everyone, even the lawyers involved,
that this was a false case, but not
nonetheless, it created him great
tza'aris."
The [snorts] lawyer told him that you
want to get out of this issue, you
should know you're going to fight it,
it's going to drag on in court, you're
going to lose a lot of money. Just plead
guilty and hopefully it will just get
you uh some sort of penalty instead of
jail time.
So, he said, "Okay." And he had to pay a
very very large sum of money.

>> Meanwhile, his business wasn't running
and he had to find some sort of cash in
order to pay this penalty.
He owned an apartment in Eretz Yisrael
that while things were going well, he
started building the apartment that he
never used. He said, "I have to sell it
now in order to pay the uh the in order
to pay the penalty." So, he tried to
find a proper agent to sell the
apartment. And finally, Baruch Hashem,
they found someone pretty fast, but at
the last moment, he backed out and said,
"I don't want to buy it."
So, he said he told the agent, "Listen,
I I really need this money now."
He says, "I Let let me call the guy
directly. Ask him what's going on."
So, he called him up and he says, "I
heard you wanted to buy my apartment,
then you backed out. What happened?" So,
he said, "To tell you the truth, I I
heard that the building that's happening
the the the builders are difficult to
deal with. I wasn't interested. But he
said, "Tell me why you so desperate for
cash?"
So he said,
"Listen, this is my story. I am involved
in a large business. This is the This
and this is the business that I do. And
I live here. And I was pulled into a
court case that I'm innocent of, but
nonetheless I have to pay a penalty. And
this is what I have to pay. So therefore
I want to sell my apartment." So he
said, "This fellow,
is this your company?" He said, "Yes."
He said, "Okay, don't worry about it.
I'm not buying your your apartment." He
said, "What? You're not You are You were
acting so nice. Why aren't you buying my
apartment?" So he said, "I'm not buying
my apartment. Let me finish.
But I'm giving you the entire money for
your penalty
as a present."
Said, "What?"
He said, "You know what my name is?"
Says, "Yes."
Says, "Do you recognize the last name?"
He said, start thinking. He said, "Are
you related to this and this person?" He
said, "Yes. That's my brother."
This fellow
hired
sick children. Children who had were
mentally
uh delayed.
And of course he didn't need them as
workers, but he tried to give them
chizuk putting labels on different items
that he manufactured.
And even though it may have slowed down
his business, he knew who's the bala saw
there. So he understood that he has to
give back to the community with his
business. And even though it didn't make
sense for him to do it, he could have
hired a workers who would be able to do
that in a second or even even perhaps
have machines do it. He wanted to give
chizuk to these Yidden
who are delayed and to give them a job.
And that's what he did.
And this fellow now in Eretz Yisrael who
wanted to buy his apartment said, "You
were mechazek my brother when he needed
it. I'm going to be mechazek you."
And he gave him the money to pay the
penalty and to put him back on his feet.
As Yidden, we might not do things that
make sense in our businesses.
We might be mechazek people and
therefore lose out, quote unquote. We
might give tzedakah and therefore lose
out, quote unquote. But Ne'eman ba'al
tzedakah leshalem sacharah.
The Ribbono shel Olam pays back in this
world. Beyom ite dein sacharah.
We have different way of calculating how
business what runs when we realize who
our true boss is.
