Many people are confused by this. They're shopping
online, they see a product has a hechsher,
they zoom in, it has the OU, and when they get
it ,it does not have the OU. Why can that be? Why
does it no longer have a hechsher? The reason is
there are sometimes that a company makes products
in multiple plants. Some plants have a hechsher,
some do not. The OU monitors that very carefully.
We send mashgichim to the plants. We keep track
of which items are made in which plant. And the
ones who are made in the other plant do not have
a hechsher, and they don't advertise as having a
hechsher. But sometimes the one making the web
page will just pick the picture randomly, and
