people don't care what you know until they know that you care I said if your child doesn't feel emotionally safe with you why do you think they would be interested in your values I once heard a father say when my child grows up and inevitably gets into trouble which I know she will she'll get into trouble at some point I can't control that but what I can control is I don't want her response to be oh no my dad's going to kill me I want her response to be oh no I better call my dad
