When do you need to say Birchat HaTorah?

Which kind of learning requires Birkot HaTorah? Any kind of learning that I do? What if I'm going to What if I want to think about learning? What if I want [music] to read a safer? What if I want to listen to a shiur? What topics and what types of learning require Birkot HaTorah before I do that learning? The Shulchan Aruch says, "Tzarich livarech bein l'mikra, bein l'mishna, bein l'gemara, bein l'midrash." [music] Says you should, whether it's whether it's actual psukim or it's mishna or it's gemara or it's medrish, all of these all of the above require Birkot HaTorah before you before you study. [music] The Aruch HaShulchan, in his commentary on the Shulchan Aruch, asks, "Okay, that's very nice, but where's the limit?" There's cuz there's a lot of other things besides that. [music] He says, "Well, maybe it's only topics that are specifically connected to psukim in the Torah. Mishna and gemara are always they're expounding upon the psukim. Maybe it's only things that are connected to psukim, but but but Kabbalah, which is made built in a totally esoteric different type of learning, maybe it doesn't need." And he goes back and forth, and [music] he basically he's not sure where you draw the line.
