What type of oil should I use for lighting the menorah?

What types of oils are okay for using for  the Chanukah menorah? Really almost every   oil today is fine to use. There are some  examples of oils that are mentioned. I   don't think they're common. They give off a  bad smell or they're dangerous or different   things. So those ones one should not use, but  otherwise one can use almost any oil. However,   there's a mitzvah min hamovchor, there's  a hiddur mitzvah, meaning if one wants to   do the mitzvah in the optimal way, one uses  olive oil, because the mitzvah was done with   olive oil, and therefore there's an extra  remembrance of the mitzvah when one uses   olive oil. But if one doesn't have olive oil,  and one wants to use wax candles, for instance,   or one wants to use a different type of  oil, they are fine for the mitzvah as well.
