What’s that smell?

So, they have this like Jewish singles happy hour every week here, Friday night. And I love having the same conversation with every single person there because basically what happens is you walk in, first thing is you're greeted by that smell. Anyone who's ever been to a Jewish singles event knows like there's a smell associated with it. Like it's nobody knows exactly what the smell is. It's some sort of mix of like bo perfume and desperation just in the air. If you've been, you know exactly what I'm talking about. You start having the same conversation every single person. You go up to a guy or a girl and you're like, "Oh, hey, where you from?" Like, "Oh, do you come here a lot?" and they're like, "No, it's actually my first time here. Like, so nice." Like, "What about you?" And you're like, "Oh, yeah. It's also my first time here." Even though you and that person have had that exact same conversation like four different times at this event, there's 800 people at this thing every week. Every single one of them swears it's the first time they've been there. Like, how did everyone find the place? How did everyone know where to go? Is every everyone here is here for the first time. Then slowly like people break up into groups. It's usually just like groups of 10 guys all sitting around talking and being like, "Oh my god, there's like literally no cute girls here." And then there's just like groups of 10 girls sitting around talking and being like, "There's like literally no normal guys here." And then everyone's just like, "All right, same time next week." I think that's what happens. I don't know. It was my first time there.
