What Makes You Jewish?

Proud Jewish doctor, I find it fascinating that ultra-Orthodox state they were attacked cuz God felt they were not respecting all aspects of Judaism. Fascinating to me. It may be fascinating, but it's the truth simply because that's what the Torah says. The only thing that makes you Jewish is the fact that God gave Am Yisrael the Torah at Mount Sinai. Before that, there wasn't Judaism. There wasn't an organized Judaism. We got the Torah. If the Chinese got the Torah at Mount Sinai, they would be the Jews. If the Arabs got the Torah at Mount Sinai, they would be the Jews. But no, we got the Torah. That's what created Judaism. The moment that we got the Torah at Mount Sinai, that's where Judaism began. Now, as far as the reason why we're still here 3,334 years later is because our grandparents, great-grandparents, all the way to Moshe Rabbeinu, observed this Torah. Anyone that left the Torah, intermarried with the gentiles, stopped being Jewish. So, all of the liberals, all of the lefties, all of the people that were not following the Torah, they quickly went into the other nations. And there's no memory of them whatsoever, which means that even if you proud Jewish doctor, are not religious, are not observant of Shabbat, certainly your father or grandfather, but certainly not more than your great-grandfather, were religious, were Torah observant, were following the Torah. Because if they weren't, you wouldn't be Jewish today. Which means that you are the weak part of the chain if you're not Torah observant. Now, if you understand that, that means that realize that for the last 3,334 years, what made you Jewish is the very same Torah that we're discussing here for the last hour, and we've made several thousand lectures about discussing different parts of the Torah. And inside this Torah there are multiple places in the Torah where Hakadosh Baruch Hu specifically says what will happen if we follow his Torah and what will happen if we violate his Torah. For a quick reference, you can go to Parashat Ki Tavo or Parashat Bechukotai. And Hakadosh Baruch Hu tells us exactly what will happen when we follow the Torah or when we violate the Torah. There's also in many other places in the Torah, but those specifically discuss things that are not only scary, but they're also things that happened to us, all of which happened to us during the Holocaust, including the gas chambers, including the names of the different leaders, of Hitler and Himmler and all the other reshaim out there. Now, I have many lectures about this topic to show how to find these things in the Torah. The point being is that even if you don't want to go into the mystical and the and the the other parts of the Torah that are beyond the simple translation, even if you look at the simple translation, you'll see Hakadosh Baruch Hu specifically telling us this is what will happen if we violate the Torah. And one of the things that happens when we violate the Torah, when we disrespect the Torah, is a heavy punishment in this world, needless to say, in the next world. So, it's not the Orthodox Jews feel this way. It's God said it. And if you don't believe that God said it, then what makes you Jewish? You say that you're a proud Jew. If you're proud Jewish, that means you believe in the Torah. If you don't believe in the Torah, what makes you Jewish? Then you say, "No, my mom was Jewish." Yeah, but the only thing that says that because your mom was Jewish, you're Jewish, is the same Torah. So, if you don't believe in the Torah, that means you're not Jewish because the only statement on planet Earth that agrees with you being Jewish because your mother is Jewish, is the Torah. If you go to the government of England, if you go to the government of Kuwait, if you go to the government of any other country in the world, they care less about your mother or your father or your uncle or whoever. In their belief system, this doesn't This is nonsense. But according to the Torah, your mom being Jewish, that's what makes you Jewish. If you don't believe in the Torah, then what makes you Jewish? Needless to say, proud. What made your grandfather Jewish? What caused him to keep Shabbat? So, these are the questions you have to ask yourself right now before you call yourself a proud Jew and mock or disrespect the words of the Jewish community that is following the Torah, that is not making statements out of their own They're not picking it out of a hat. It's statements that are literally written in the Torah that a 5-year-old kid understand. If you send your kids to Yeshiva at first grade, which is usually around 6 years old, at first grade, they'll learn this. So, perhaps before mocking, before thinking that you know more, go check what Torah says, and you'll see very quickly that this is the truth. I have a whole entire series about the times before the Holocaust. It's written about one of the leaders of the time of Elchanan Wasserman. That was the talmid of the Chofetz Chaim. And El- Elchanan Wasserman himself got murdered in the Holocaust, Shem yakum damo. But he writes everything of what happened before. And you'll see many things that the sages said will happen. All of it happened. Why? Because the sages weren't saying things out of their own opinion. They were saying things that were already found in the Torah for the last several thousand years. Which means that once you understand what Torah says, there's no surprises. They're simply a reality. Try it. It'll help you become a much better doctor. >> The Chofetz Chaim, almost 100 years old, was crying and telling people, "I see black clouds over Europe. The streets will be full of blood if people don't do teshuvah." He begged people, "Please, take me house to house so so I can talk to people about doing teshuvah." 100 years old. What he saw, this was 9 years before the Holocaust. >> [music] >> He already told all of his talmidim, Elchanan Wasserman included, on Rosh Hashanah, he says, "I see black clouds. Bad things are going to happen if people don't do teshuvah."
