What Everyone Gets Wrong About Shavuot

Isn't it strange? Think about every Jewish holiday, there's something unique and specific mitzvah. Pesach we just had, you got the matzah. Sukkot you got the lulav and the esrog and the sukkah. And for Hanukkah you got the menorah. Purim of course you got the megillah and you got the whole stuff going on with the the seudah and you got the costumes, it's very unique. Every holiday you have specific things [music] for that holiday except for Shavuot. Oh wait, Shavuot you might tell me, cheesecake. Let's go cheesecake. That's nice. Stay up all night, nice costume. [music] Specific mitzvah? What is it? There doesn't seem to be any. Heard many years going an incredible answer to this. This is the holiday celebrating the fact that Hashem gave us the Torah. And therefore we should not think that the [music] Torah is about one specific mitzvah. Let's not get confused that it's all about this or that, rather it's about a life of Torah. It's about a life of serving Hashem. It's about the way we sleep. It's about the way we eat. It's about the way that [music] we are with our families. It's about the way that we go for a walk. And it's about the way we go to shul. And it's about the way we learn. And it's about the way WE DO JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING. That is a life of Torah and therefore the holiday to celebrate receiving Torah is about a life of living Torah that [music] it should permeate every single thing about what we do. May we all be so blessed and take a message FROM DROPS OF LIGHT, 10 YEARS of using technology, of using WhatsApp to share inspiration. What an incredible thing. May we all be so blessed to take whatever we can to be able to share words of Torah. Help us all live a life of Torah. Thank you to R' Noach Paley.
