let's just jump right in and see rabbi

relatively quiet week um today thank you
for handing it over to me but really

lesson and
everybody will participate on one level
another whether they're
looking at the text as we go along or
they're putting in comments or questions
um now tonight's topic today's topic
is the 24th way the 24th of the 48 waves
and it's called a moon trusting
wise men now i have to tell you i mean
just thinking about people who've come
out of
christianity or other you know doctrines
of
men shall i say how do you trans
form or you know go from
you know a a doctrine of men
you know what i mean like a man-made
religion
that's really what these other religions
are
into the you know vast opening
of wisdom of the torah and of course
and i have to tell you you know just to
look at someone else's
translation is is a problem in itself
so you're you know if you felt duped you
felt robbed you felt um
cheated lied to in the doctor of man a
man made religion and now you're gonna
come back
you're gonna come back to the truth come
back to the torah
you will still require and this is
really what it comes down to somebody

tradition there's a chain

questions and of course you can
challenge your

judaism is that you're encouraged to ask
questions

is trusting the wise trusting a wise man
or trusting the wise men plural have to
do with
the the way to acquire wisdom
so as i already began to mention we have

i'm going to say you only even live once
the truth is we don't know you may have
other opportunities in the reincarnation
but we don't rely on that we're not
trusting on that

superficially the uh the verse uses the
word children twice
and it's spelled
with the validation your sons your
children your your
sons however hazal the rabbis explain
that it's not just the fact that it's
written twice
but there is a way to pronounce it for a
drusha
and when we use a drush we're talking
about to expound on the verse
that we're supposed to read it as

meaning your builders so even though
we're talking about your children shall
be disciples of the lord
and your children's peace shall increase

explains do not read it as
your sons but rather read it as bonaire

that torah scholars are builders

they build the world they actually build
the world and bring
peace to it now i think this is very

this idea that
it's so important the rambam in the laws
of kings and their wars where he
discusses
in depth a lot of the a lot of the laws
relating to banik you know the seven
laws
but not only that he mentions whether a
non-jew
i don't want to get into the depth of it
if he should
oh torah now that doesn't mean learning
of course he should learn
the question is isik is much more than
just learning
whether they should keep shabbat the
same way a jew does

don't want to get into that the main
point i want to mention
is that in in chapter 10
law number 9 it says regarding that
regarding whether they should learn
torah or involve themselves in turn to
what extent
or uh keep shabbat or observe shabbat on
whatever level
the main point is that they are not
allowed
in we should not encourage them or allow
them even
to invent to invent
a new religion or to make
mitzvahs up on their own
very very important but rather they
should either be a gareth ceddick which
means a
total 100 percent convert to judaism
and therefore they would accept all the

movement they understand that the torah

the basis for everything in their life

why should we trust these people we're
talking about the wise men of
the jewish nation so let's just talk
about wisdom itself
wisdom is mankind's most precious
commodity
right wisdom i think rabbi kaufman
mentioned like if he didn't have a name
right his rebbe was a little bit uh
let's say perturbed uh get it right i
mean you know how much money you have in
your pocket
that's obviously something that is
meaningful to you well this should be
i should say either just as or more
meaningful than money
so wisdom enables you to construct a
life
based on values and meaning it gives you
access to torah's
indispensable gps for navigating your
way through life's
vicitudes and trickiest journeys with it
you understand how to attain
true happiness and self-esteem how to
create
a and nurture a vibrant loving marriage
which i encourage
how to raise resilient confident
children
with torah values here in the safer it
says jewish values
i'm not sure if there's any difference
but i i'd rather just stress
torah values in a tumultuous confusing
world which we are all living in
right this is very important so sure is
of course the the pursuit for wisdom
should not be casual
and i'm saying this even for a year

discussion about wisdom should be more

proverbs chapter two verse four and five
yeah if you seek it like silver and hunt
for
it like treasures then you will
understand the fear of the lord
and you will find the knowledge of god
so in in hebrew it says
it's not just if you should search
out wisdom like it's a very valuable
commodity
like silver but it's hidden as the next
right and hunt it like treasures so the

something that's hidden
um
is to cover it over like something that
was sealed away and hidden
but it's not inaccessible right it's
there
so there's work involved you know some
people think
i'm just whether it's jew or non-jew
that wisdom just comes so easily
um i can just tell you look i mean
there is you know being street smart and
there's being academic smart and i don't
think
either one comes so easily if anything
will come easily
it's probably the academic part for some
people
right some people but uh we need to be
overall smart right we have to
learn sometimes from other people's
mistakes i mean it's a wise thing right
who's a wise man in judaism someone who
learns from all men
also the idea of humility is a key part
i know you discussed that in your last
your last class as well okay so
let's go back into the text
now if you're seriously seeking wisdom
you have to look for a talmud
now i'll try to translate it
it means a student of the wise
just to already imagine that that the
people we look up to
the people we go to for the answers
with our questions the people that we go
to to learn how to even learn
are called them are they themselves are
called students
of the wise i mean
it means that they're constantly
learning as well
that they're that they're not sitting
there thinking they're the
the top tier right once they're the top
tier and they reach this level let's
just say
that they are actually called students
of the wise
so you you if you think you don't have
nothing else to learn
you're far from being a teacher right as

torah is wider than the you know the
borders of this universe i mean this is

so um i guess you have to be pretty full
of yourself
to think you have everything done
so if we're going to look for somebody

teach you about the complexities of life

relationship with this person
now one of the most important things i

in most areas you know whether it's jews

want to learn from somebody you do what

being serious about wisdom also entails
implementing the wisdom you
learn and appreciating its value so
here's an example right imagine you
received like a tip
somebody i don't know if inside training
what they call it but
you assume this person is like a an
expert in the stock market
and they tell you that you know buy this
stock it's going to go up
and yes it went up exactly what he said
he said it's going to go up 20
went up 20 and then the next day
no it didn't go it went up 45 whoa
you're like all over this guy you're
ready for the next the next hot tip you
know
and it happens again it happens again it
happens again
and then one day this is going to go up
200 percent
some stock and guess what it only went
up 50
are you gonna be disappointed this guy
has been giving you
tips always for your benefit and maybe
it didn't benefit you
exactly the way he described but
you know we're only human beings right
again if it's
valuable information it's coming from
the torah in this case
so it's going to benefit maybe you
didn't apply it in the exact right way
maybe he
didn't know all your intricacies
of your personality in your life or the
relationships you have and he gave you
advice
it would be it would be probably the
best advice he could give you based on
the torah
based on his knowledge based on his own
you know experience and understanding
and it should benefit you and you may
not see it

choose
a wise person and follow their advice
remember it's only advice right
if it's advice you're asking for if it's
a logic determination you you follow
that if they have
a tradition going all the way back and
i'm gonna discuss
the tradition that the rambam brings
i mean it was the most amazing thing to
me because i was very
i was a stickler let's say i was very
particular about
this idea of a an oral torah if it's
really true
that we said you know we witness it says
in the turn you saw what god
did and you heard what god said and it's
been passed down from generation to
generation
even my own parents and grandparents
told me
that we were at mount sinai right they
just didn't have all the information
because they were already secular
but they had enough information that
they did convey to me that we were
from this um interesting people called
the jews
and um so when the rambam brought down
and i'll tell you where he does okay you
want to do it now
this is very important to know if you go

the introduction the rambam's
introduction to his mishnah
i just want to read it quickly to you
just very very few paragraphs
for the two short paragraphs basically
he mentions that moses our teacher
personally
transcribed the entire torah before he
died he gave a torah scroll to each
tribe and placed another scroll in the
ark
of testimony it says in deuteronomy 31
26 take this torah scroll place it
beside the ark and it'll be a testimony
it mentions the mitzvah i want to talk
about this verse as well
actually it's deuteronomy chapter 13
verse 1.
um okay there's a whole bunch of verses
i want to talk about
so the mitzvah that god
that moses himself told us you know what
let's do it now
it's um go to chapter exodus chapter 24
verse 12.
exodus 24 yeah first 12.
verse 12 reads and the lord said to
moses
come up to me to the mountain and remain
there and i will give you
the stone tablets the law and the
commandments which i have written to
instruct them
now i just want to break this verse down
the omar hashem el moshe god says to
moses
come up to me
to the mountain the yesham you know
what's going to happen there

so that means he's going to give us
these stone tablets

elders

many people have left
what we call the doctrine of man it's so
interesting because we all know in
judaism
that you have the sanhedrin the court
and they're not infallible
right you still have to follow them in
other words the torah itself proscribes
you follow the majority of the saint
hendren
sanhedrin can make a mistake but the
torah tells you if you go against the
sanhedrin you're going to be put to
death
you say but i'm right and they're all
wrong doesn't matter you have to follow
them
let me give you a verse to explain this
let's find it
sorry i'm a little bit uh misconculated
and here it is yeah i believe here
in deuteronomy chapter 17
verses 10 and 11.
okay so how would somebody who believes
okay i only do what the torah tells me
well guess what if you're in doubt right
this is the whole case
if you're in doubt you go up to the
highest court and the court will
determine what you do and then you have
to follow that
now you follow i mean like oh i just do
what i
my heart tells me or i just do what i
read myself
but if there's any doubt this is what

for thousands of years when we had first

you had to go up you went to a let's say
a friendly
uh neighborly court a local court
and if they told you what to do you had
to do it but if they were in doubt then
it would go to a higher court like
i guess the same way if there's appeals
or doubts
then it's able to go sometimes the
higher court says no we're not going to
hear it
they already determined and there's
nothing to talk about don't waste our
time
right so obviously if the higher court
hears it there's some doubt there's some
i can appeal there's something appealing
about your uh
claim right that could be overturned

because do not divert from the word they
tell you either right
or left i know people have a hard time

dialogue

in the end you still have to follow what

i mean this person who then goes out and
teaches
opposite of what the sanhedrin says the
torah itself says this person should be
put to death

momish a rebellious elder
okay now this could be many reasons you
could say well it's good for
society so they made it you know if the
sanhedrin really made a mistake
the torah itself prescribes a corbin a
certain
offering and confession that they have
to make
so again there is an opening if you
really feel you're right you continue
to have a dialogue in order to prove but
in the end in public use
in public you still have to do what they
prescribe the torah itself says it
now is this considered a doctrine of man
or is this god's doctrine
i conclude this means this is god's word
you're following god's word and you're
not thought
just as a proof of this if you go back
to
numbers 15 31
if someone scorns the word of god go
ahead read it if you want
i mean just a mess on the in hebrew
actually scorning whether it's the
talmud
what do you mean scoring god's word who
are you squirting you're scoring the
teachers you're screwing the
the word that they have decided what
what is
the correct way so again it's very
important to have
what is we're talking about some
level of trust in
okay let's go back into our own um
this idea is okay you trust them it
doesn't mean you blindly accept whatever
they say listen carefully to them
and consider what they say with humility
and honesty
because they know far more than you do
but do not accept their word
unconditionally the torah wants
us to think believe in the rabbis give
them the benefit of the doubt
but don't put your mind in deep freeze
be critical
if you see contradictions if you have
questions
ask but be sure to give them a full
hearing
a fair hearing give way to
even if yeah even if it goes against
your views
resolve what you don't understand about
what they said
and then live by the wisdom they taught
you
now judaism does not believe that
religious leaders are infallible
every human being can make a mistake
even moses
made mistakes i mean right only god is
perfect and he doesn't make any mistakes
although the sages are not infallible
they're still the best source of truth
we have
therefore they have a far greater
understanding of torah than we do
than we do so listen to what they say
the same way you would listen to a
renowned doc a renowned doctor
who has carefully studied your case and
is offering his expert opinion

um interesting when this is from the
gemara
when testing a buyer robin and abaya
argued a lot and
rabbah tested abaya rubble would often
intentionally impart something incorrect
or illogic
illogical to ensure that his student did
not just accept
what he was thought without critically

a good rebbe sharpens his students wits
and checks to see they're not mindlessly

mean to believe him so here's another

wants to illustrate this example
imagine i tell you that you will win 10
000 shekel if you buy a 10 shekel
lottery ticket
at a certain uh kiosk you say
rabbi i'm going to buy just one ticket
so i can say
to you after i lose uh so much for your
wonderful advice so you go to this
kiosk you buy the ticket and the day
after
the lottery you look in the newspaper
and sure enough you won the ten thousand
shekels
so you call me up thank me and just say
rabbi maybe you have another tip so he
tells you go to another place
and this is basically the same idea as
we said before with the stocks right you
keep winning keep winning and then one
time he tells you to win 200 000 shekel
and you only want fifty thousand shackle
i mean come on you're not going to stop
taking advice from this guy of course
you are right
same idea as long as you have weighed
out
that the information that whatever is
being transmitted to you
has been correct has sat well in your
soul
has benefited for relationships
otherwise
choose another rebbe so treat wisdom the
same way you hear a piece of wisdom from
a rabbi
and you put the wisdom into practice
even if you do not understand every
aspect of it
you see it works in the end you benefit
tremendously from it
naturally you go back for more advice so
obviously the relationship deepens and
his track records continues to build
and so does your willingness to commit
invest and trust in the wise
man's wisdom you would not be willing to
go to england
you would not be willing to go to
england after receiving one valuable
piece of wisdom but once you trust
in other words if he told you all this
stuff and then he tells you to spend
thousands of dollars on a plane ticket
you might not be willing to do that but
once you have so much
uh track record uh so perhaps you
the investment of your your you're
willing you have the confidence to
invest more
maybe you would be willing to travel
around the world if he
so said so right the key is to
appreciate the value of the wisdom
you're receiving remember it's more
precious than silver and gold
consider just how valuable it is to know
the secret to happiness
the definition of good the path to
genuine self-respect
gauge the impact this wisdom will have
on your life
and respond accordingly by taking the
rabbi's advice and wisdom very seriously
this is what it means to believe the
wise man this is
very simple so far now
i wanted to i told you i wanted to go
into that gamora
and i already mentioned we
was one of the first verses we we spoke
about in exodus chapter 24
verse 12 that the whole oral torah was
already given over
when i say the whole author i'm talking
about the fundamental principles of the
oral chart was given over
to moshe c9 so you have to do your own
investigation
to believe that or not
um due to running me
we did that already okay
chapter 17 verse 11. i believe we did

midrash

deviate from their instructions

regarding accepting when they tell you
right is left and left is right i once
heard the following
explanation right left are matters of
perspective
depending on which a person a person is
facing
this is how he will perceive which
direction is right which is left
the idea here is that since the
perspective
of a torah sage is one coming from a
vantage point
of having internalized much torah wisdom
it behooves the student to accept that
his own sense of right and left
are an incorrect vantage point
here's another example sometimes there's
a tremendous amount of siata de shemaya
assistance from heaven even when the
rabbi may be
wrong may be wrong we give them the
benefit of doubt
there was a story about um a very
well-known story about
rabbi yochezko landau he's the famous
author of the no de be huda
and the townspeople he lived they
accepted his ruling to extend pesach by
one day
now if you extend pesach one by one day
which the rabbi determined according to
the calendar was necessary
apparently he made a mistake what was
the big deal
to eat matzah and not bread for another
day
it turned out that all the non-jews in
that town
died of eating poisoned bread the
following day
meaning the day that it was really not
pesach but all the jews were told by
this rabbi
he had some kind of a mistake apparently
and we don't even know it doesn't really
matter maybe he didn't make a mistake
but the jews all followed their rabbi
they kept passover
one extra day i'll just read the exact
statement when the townspeople accepted
his ruling to extend pesach by
a day due to the supposed mistake in the
calendar that he discovered
it saved their lives because they
avoided eating poisoned bread
a plot that only the rabbi was privy to
okay so it means that he actually knew
it
and then he told them to keep an extra
day okay
much interesting
um
okay i want to go into this um idea
of the gemara the actual gemara that
talks about these verses
of how a wise person
brings peace to the world because that
is what we ultimately want
isn't it of course yes all looking for
peace
so we say this at the end of prayers
three times a day
shouldn't say oftentimes at least at the
end of chakras i don't know about the
other customs
let me just find it in the end of the
game
it's the very last page in german
now i have to find it
we say this and then we say kaddish
afterwards i'm just saying hebrew real
quick and then we'll talk about it
i think i read that verse in the
beginning in isaiah 54
13. rebbe alegre
torah scholars increase peace in the
world
as it is said all of your children

shall be taught of the lord and great
shall be
the peace of your children meaning if
all the children of israel are taught of
the lord
there will be peace for all so the they
just say i'll take reign
don't read it with the validation of
so torah scholars are those who build
peace for their generation
as it says now i have a whole bunch of
verses now it's interesting why the
gemara needs to bring
all these verses but it's quite
enlightening so in psalms 119
verse 165 those who love your torah
have great peace there's no stumbling
block for them
you love torah the torah wants you to
listen to the sages
don't worry nothing's going for 65 rabbi
165.
165 reads there is abundant
of abundant peace to those who love your
torah
and they have no obstacle
i mean it's an amazing idea here don't
worry everything's going to be good
right in hebrew shalom
shalom wrath a great amount of peace
will come to those who love you torah
name make mixture there won't be any
stemming block for him
the next verse and
it's in psalms 122 verse 7.
and then we're going to read 8-9 but
just read seven right now
psalm 122
verse seven verse seven uh may there be
peace in your walls tranquility in your
palaces
and then read the next two verses the
next two verse eight says for the sake
of my brethren
and my companions i shall now speak of
peace
in you for the sake of the house of the
lord our god
i shall beg for goodness for you
okay and then verse nine you're ready
yeah nine for the sake of the house of
the lord
our god oh goodness for you
yes you could read another personally
just readings in hebrew because they're
so beautiful
besides we actually sing this so nicely
and i'm not a great singer

people work on their character

also brings peace among people

psalms 29 verse 11

verse 11 reads the lord shall grant
strength to his people the lord shall
bless his people with peace

now i wanted to go to this one piece
this is the benjoyada
on that piece of gemara and i thought
it'd be a little bit enlightening to go
through it
um i hope it won't take too much time
and i'll try my best
and when it says that
these sages marbin increase
peace in the world so and the typical le
benio yada this is the benishai
he mentions that it seems to me with the
help of hashem to explain

says

from my colleagues and i even i learned

of the torah which is called peace
it makes sense that they are increasing
peace in the world by
teaching torah and it's like just real
simple right it's not that it's not this
is not
uh you know high level chemistry or
or a science this is just simple
if you just you know ask hashem to open
your mind
right water in the desert yeah
it's ways what we're talking about
wisdom or tomato torah
it's ways or ways of pleasantness and
all of its paths are shalom
the torah itself is called shalom
so now that we know the tutor itself is
called charlemagne as we just read in
that verse
so the tom and they they're called tommy

they're specifically called right
students
and they're the ones that are marbeem
torah they increase torah which is
called shalom
in this world
and we already said that i learned more
from
my students than anybody else
and we saw the drasha that explains
don't
read it as your sons
but rather bonaire as your builders
so any place that the torah meaning the
the oral tradition tells us don't read
it this way but read it that way
it doesn't mean we do away with one
and only go with the other it means that
there's two ways to look at it

so when it says increases peace of your
builders
that's the coming that means the rabbis
the teachers
they increase their torah which is
called peace the meaning they're
increasing peace in the world
and then through your children
you know your children your students or
your children
it's not in other words you don't have
an obligation only to teach your own
children
physical biological children everyone
you teach you have an obligation to
teach
as many people as possible they're also
called your children
right um just to go back into the idea
that
in terms of keeper of the aim or keep
honoring your parents or honoring your
rebbe
so i know this is a hard pill to swallow
for many people because we do have a
mitzvah
to honor your parents it's written
clearly right in the ten commandments
and wherever
so you have this idea that if you found
an object
you see it floating down the river you
can only save
it's your father's lost object and your
rebbe's lost object
or god forbid your own father or your
own rebbe were drowning
and you can only save one of them who do
you save
so you probably not you logic might
dictate okay you have to save your own
father first
no the answer is you have to save your
rebbe first because your father gave you
life in the physical existence
but the rebbe gave you life in the world
to come and therefore you owe him a lot
more
let's say honor i know it might be a
hard pill to swallow yeah go
ahead uh we got a question online from
ben noah in new jersey um
he's asking he says does it matter if
the rabbi is conservative
he says i have no orthodox rabbi in his
area
and i asked i said i replied i said well
is he a talmud
and um i didn't get any reply but you
know it's a question
of you know are you learning from them
or not
i'm not making any judgment i don't know
who he i don't know who he is i don't
know what they call
why he's called a conservative rabbi um
let's just say in general someone is uh

but when you come in with some humility
and you're willing to learn from someone

create peace which is not the case
if each person looks themselves as the

of his friend
and there's no question there's going to
be all kinds of mock locus and arguments
but rather each one comes well well
let's say say what's going to happen
when you come with an argument
everyone's going to come and argue with
everyone else and
you're not even going to learn torah
anymore for the right reasons you're
only going to be battling it out with
the ego
and that's why we mentioned that
see themselves constantly as
tal me deem as students
remember we said these are the builders
even though they actually are great
sages
and they are bringing they're actually
increasing increasing
peace in the world um and you're not
going to find
a real mock locus be in front of them
you know they're not going to be
involved
in a real argument in my locus
because but mela of course they're
learning torah for the right reasons
and they're not going to increase sorry
and through them there will be an
increase of
shether shepherd when the jew makes a
blessing on
food he and everybody can make blessings
on food
you're recognizing where it's coming
from and increasing the shepherd that's
coming down from heaven
so
when through let's just say like this
through these sages it's going to
increase the chef in the world
and they're building the

happens is if you have any doubts about

a teacher a scholar who's already humble

steal you or whoever it is that you're
relying on as a mentor
they're not going to steer you wrong
you'll build um i don't know what you
want to call it's a portfolio
of things they told you that worked out
for the best
and you'll just continue to increase and
hopefully their advice will continue to
bring chef into the world
and that will bring true peace
ultimately to the individual
first to the neighbor to neighborhood to
the city

uh um of how the light of torah

the rabbis and you got to be connected
you got to have your ears open

second-guessing them that's not being a
good student not at all

and research what they say

from a skeptical standpoint i find that
that just doesn't make a good
teacher-student relationship for sure
you want to be a good student make sure

four years almost now for me and i've
been at this broadcasting nearly three
years straight
uh for for the noahide world center um
it was july it was july three years ago
uh
back in 2018 when i first put my first
post out
on social media for the noahide world
center to be doing a series
and um yeah i've pretty much gone
non-stop for three years
it's just a joy and uh yeah so rabbi
goldberg asked rabbi uri shirki of the
founder of the know-how world center if
i could start a class myself and he said
sure go for it
so i get to start broadcasting i'm going
to start a class on the book of job
on on monday and uh it's not my material
of course like you your class said today
make sure you're
giving your ear to a talmud i've got
some beautiful material that
is created by a rabbi yichak schwartz
who is a
leading rav in his community uh just
north of uh jerusalem in
uh uh i think it's called
gav just just about five kilometers
about
gideon yeah just just right
five kilometers northwest of jerusalem
and
he's uh he's the russia shiva of his uh
uh
of orco scheim uh
and i look forward to meeting him in
person
on one of these broadcasts he's kind of
excited we're sharing his material
i first read his course on the book of
job
over 20 years ago he copyrighted the
material 25 years ago
and he was a rabbi in seattle down in
in washington state just below me and um
you know it's nice to
to you know i'm glad he's i tried to get
his permission on top of
having my rabbis okay to do a class and
and my rabbi asking his rabbi i also
asked the rabbi whose material i'm going
to be sharing
and uh you know try to give honor where
it's due and i think that
like you said today it's it's it's it's
all the order that keeps that peace
flowing right
and i really hope that this class is
successful listen
i i hope so too just keep in mind that
uh this is one of the
statements that i heard from one of my
rebellion i'm not going to say
that it's across the board like this but
this is what i believe is true
what is the how do you know what tom
hawking right this person asked about
the conservative rabbi
and basically you answered them right he
said tom mcconklin what's the tom
mcculken
somebody who will tell you the truth i
don't know
yeah one of the things we learned in
rabbi school is to
learn how to say i don't know i will
check into it and get back to you
right you could say i have an educated
guess
but i have to check it out you know it's
better to check it out than to put out
things that are
even and even misleading or possibly
misleading
first of all certain humility and second
of all making sure you really know what
you're talking about
by getting back saying give me a few
minutes or a few days or a few hours
whatever it is
uh to check out a better response
uh follow through with it yeah oh no
follow through for sure but i'm saying
like
there are people that just i don't know
what the word is they talk out of their
tokens
it's not a nice phrase to say but
they're they're
you know i don't know what it is i don't
know if it's ego
and they don't want to show they want us
you know
the fame the stories of famous rabbis
and people came and asked them
simple questions and they made sure the
person
felt that it was an important question
and the rabbi said let me
give me a second we took a book off the
shelf
went through it very simple everybody
knows the answer
but he wanted to make sure the person
felt respected
oh you just said oh yeah that's so
simple
you know everybody knows that yeah yeah
you don't wanna
you want the person to feel like they
can come to you that you respect them
and that their words are valuable and
their their questions are valuable
and uh there are we're talking about
rabbis whose time is extremely valuable
and yet they took
seconds to stroke their beard
hesitate make sure they're you know
gonna give the right answer
and uh even take the books off the shelf
just to show them that this is
this is it's not the first time it was
asked
someone actually had to write about it
anyway
so that's just my my my words of advice
starting it off just be real yeah
stay real right yeah
