The Shidduch Crisis | Rabbi Nachum Binder

Some of the greatest heroes that Klal Yisroel has to show for itself are our older singles. These Bochurim and Bnos Yisroel, who are struggling in the Parsha of Shidduchim, where besides the emotional turmoil and, yes, the pain that comes with watching their friends and even their younger peers starting to build their own homes, with that comes tremendous Nisyonos in personal growth. The Mashgiach, R’ Matisyahu זכר צדיק וקדוש לברכה once said, that if one sees a Bochur who's already in the Parsha of Shidduchim for two years and is still working on their personal growth, that Bochur is worthy of giving Brachos and one should go to such a Bochur and ask him for a Bracha. I want to share with you a story of one such hero, let us call him Yossi, who shared this story with us, at Vayimaen. Yossi tells us that he was struggling in the Parsha of Shidduchim, and things were just not going the way that he thought that they were supposed to go. It was over two years already, and the struggles kept on getting stronger, and with that, all areas of personal growth became an issue. And on Rosh Chodesh Tammuz of this year, Yossi was watching the Vayimaen video, where the speaker related a story of a father who used his Kabbalah in Shmiras Einayim to bring about the Yeshuah for his own child. And the speaker finished off by saying, Let us cry, let us beg, let us plead to the Ribono shel Olam, that our Shmiras Einayim should bring about our Yeshuah. With tears streaming down my face, I knew what I had to do. And at that moment I made a very strong Kabbalah, a 40-day Kabbalah in a certain area of Shmiras Einayim. And then, I went out just another time on a first date. And Yossi tells us that less than 40 days later, I was Baruch Hashem zoche to become a Choson. We can't know what brought about the Yeshuah, but I strongly feel, says Yossi, that it was this Kabbalah in Shmiras Einayim that brought about my Yeshuah. Morai V’Rabosai, not all of us are going through a personal Shidduch crisis, but we all know someone who is. And we're trying and we're thinking: What can I do for them? What can I do to help them with a Yeshuah? Let us use our Shmiras Einayim, and make some type of Kabbalah as a zchus for Shidduchim for those in need. We're in the days of Elul, approaching the days of Rosh HaShanah, when the Ribono shel Olam will pasken all Shidduchim. Let us use our Shmiras Einayim that we should be zoche that the Ribono shel Olam will pasken our friends, our neighbors, our acquaintances, our relatives, and all those in need and all of Klal Yisroel, that we should be zoche to עוד ישמע בערי יהודה ובחוצות ירושלים
