We're dealing with such incredible, such drastic, such sad and such petrifying times. And we need to ask ourselves, as a Jew, as somebody who's connected to Eretz Yisroel, as somebody who feels the pain of Klal Yisroel, What can we do? Of course, Tefillah is amazing. Of course, Tehillim, that runs through our veins, because that's who we are. We speak to Hashem, we cry to Hashem, we demand of Hashem, we beg Hashem for everything. But there's something so much more. The Gemara in Shabbat tells us that the Parsha of ויהי בנסוע הארון is its own Sefer. That means that, the Gemara explains, there are actually seven Sefarim of the Torah. There’s Bereishis, there's Shemos, there's Vayikra, there's the beginning of Bamidbar, up until ויהי בנסוע הארון, and then there's the end of Bamidbar, and then Devarim. What is in those tiny 85 letters? The חיד”א tells us something incredible. He tells us that ויהי בנסוע הארון is actually the Book of Galut. It's actually the book where all of our trials and tribulations that Klal Yisroel goes throughout all the years of exile, they're written in that tiny little book. And when Moshiach comes, that book is going to explode and it's going to become so much bigger. It's going to be overflowing with pages and pages. So much of what we've gone through will be spilling out. And you and I are going to be written in that book. And what's it going to say about us? It's going to say that in the times of desperation, in the times when things were so difficult, in the times when we looked to Shomayim and we said, What can I do to help? If we did something, if we accepted upon ourselves something incredible in that moment, it will be written for eternity what it is that we did. And what could we do? Our generation suffers so much from the one, from the biggest, from the most difficult of all challenges, Shmirat HaEinayim, to keep our eyes guarded, covered. You know, the news right now is going to be demanding of us so much. Watch, look, to know. And at that moment, with our concern, with our brotherly love and connection, the Satan is jumping out and trying to throw images, trying to throw ideas, trying to grab our eyes and trying to break us from within, to not allow for us to accept what it is that we need to accept, to write inside our book at this moment. What can you write? What can I write? What we can put down is I'm going to hold back. I'm going to keep my eyes guarded. Instead of looking towards those things that the Satan is trying to dangle in front of me, and thereby, make the Galut Book so much longer, I'm going to change by looking away and closing the Book of Galut, and finally bringing the end of that book, and bringing the Geulah בקרוב ממש, Amen.
