Rebuilding the Beis HaMikdash | Rabbi Noach Isaac Oelbaum

R’ Tzadok HaCohen of Lublin brings down the Gemara in Brachos דף ח. From the day the Beis HaMikdash became destroyed, HaKadosh Baruch Hu does not have anything else in the world, only the ד’ אמות של הלכה, the place where Yidden are learning Torah. Explains R’ Tzadok, the תכלית of the Beis HaMikdash was to make and bring down the Shechinah down into this world. Since we don't have the Beis HaMikdash, so the only other place where we have השראת השכינה to substitute the Beis HaMikdash is the ד’ אמות של הלכה. In any area, in any Beis Medrash, in any Makom where people are learning Torah that is a place that is a מקום השראת השכינה, and therefore it's able to substitute the Beis HaMikdash. Comes R’ Tzadok HaCohen and says something amazing in the name of his Rebbe. His Rebbe said, The ד’ אמות של הלכה does not necessarily mean always דווקא a place where people are learning Torah, but equally so, said his Rebbe, that if a Yid goes on the street, and he happens to see something which is inappropriate and he closes his eyes, not to look, that becomes a Makom of השראת השכינה, and therefore it is equal to the ד’ אמות של הלכה. Which basically means to say is, Rabosai, When a person is zoche to guard his eyes, it means he has just built the Beis HaMikdash. Because the same way that the Beis HaMikdash was the Makom of השראת השכינה, ד’ אמות של הלכה which includes a person, who is עומד בניסיון and he guards his eyes, he’s also equally being Mekadesh his Makom, and it becomes a מקום השראת השכינה, which virtually means he has now built the Beis HaMikdash. It's an amazing thought. When we take a look at the pasuk וימאן that a Yid is supposed to refuse, remember that there is a Shalsheles on top of וימאן. What is the meaning of that Shalsheles? Rabosai, Shalsheles is a chain. A chain is made up of little pieces, and that is, Rabosai, what makes the entire chain. Realize Vayimaen also works little by little. Don't expect to overcome all of your Nisyonos all at once. Remember, it works like a chain, little by little, take one step at a time and B’ezras Hashem, with Siyata D’Shmaya, you'll be able to achieve success. חזק ואמץ and with Siyata D’Shmaya, you will find success and succeed, B’ezras Hashem.
