Hakadosh Baruch Hu gave us eyes to look and a brain to think. It's going together. When we see something, we are thinking about that. We have a big, big mission in our life to keep our thinking with Kedushah, with holiness. To think pure, to think about Torah, about Mitzvot, about good deeds. When, God forbid, we don't keep our eyes, we see things that we don't have to see, we think about that. So our Machshavah, our thinking, becomes impure. And then when we learn Torah, we cannot reach a high level. We don't have enough Divine assistance. Because of that, Our sages always teach us to take care of the thinking. Like the Pasuk said, And you shall not stray after your heart and after your eyes. After the eye, the thinking came. So if we keep our eyes, we can keep the Kedushah, the holiness of our Machshavah, our brain, our thinking. And I want to repeat what I said last year. I heard for my father, somebody asked him, How come the rabbi remembers so many Gemarot, Rishonim, Achronim, all the Torah? How can you remember so much? He said the Pasuk, And you shall not stray after your heart and after your eyes. Immediately after that, the Pasuk said, In order that you may remember. If we want to remember our Torah, if we want to remember the Shas, the Poskim, if our thinking is pure, Torah, Kedushah, we will remember. And you shall not stray so that you may remember. If we keep our eyes, we will be able to do that. Amen, may it be His will. Wishing you a good and blessed year.
