More than $10 Million | Rabbi Yaakov Mizrahi

One of the greatest Mitzvot that we could do is called החזקת תורה, supporting Torah, Yissachar and Zevulun. And imagine someone had a job offer that their Ma’aser, their 10% they'd be able to distribute, he'd be able to give $10 million to Tzedakah. You know what $10 million is? Could you imagine the amount of Torah he could support? Imagine there's a Yeshiva with a few thousand Bachurim. And every day, all those Bachurim are learning a few hours of Torah, many hours of Torah. And with his donation, he'd be able to support the Yeshiva for one full year. All the Torah and all the Mitzvot and all the Berachot and all the Tefillot and everything beyond that the Bachurim are going to be doing is going to be בזכות his $10 million donation. Wow! What a privilege. What a Zechut. However, there's only one catch to the job. Where he's going to be working, is not a place that a Jewish person should be. His eyes are going to be in the wrong place and there might be wrong things and he might expose himself to wrong things that he should not be looking at. He'll be making a lot of money and he'll be able to give a lot of Tzedakah, but it will come at the expense of watching his eyes. What is the Halachah? The Halachah is... Leave the job. Watch your eyes. But my $10 million! What about the Torah? I could support so much Torah! But what about your eyes? Greater, in a way, than supporting Torah, which is of the greatest, but it should never come at the expense of our Kedushah, at the expense of our eyes. Sometimes a person thinks that in order to do good, they have to do things actively. But David HaMelech says, Stay away from bad, Not to forget that us staying away from bad is actually of the greatest things that we could really do in this world, especially in our generation. When someone has a test and they watch their eyes and they look away, they have to be thinking: Wow, this is unbelievable. This is priceless. Because we have no idea how great in Shomayim they value our Shemirat Einayim.
