Hashem Believes in You | Rabbi Nachum Binder

I want to share a beautiful Vort that a friend of mine shared with me. The Torah HaKedosha, in describing Yosef HaTzaddik’s battle with the Yetzer Hara, the Torah says, Yosef HaTzaddik refused. He refused to give in to the Yetzer Hara. There's another time in the Torah where the Torah uses the word וימאן in regards to Yosef HaTzaddik. When the brothers came to Yakov Avinu and told Yakov Avinu that Yosef HaTzaddik was no longer with us, that he had been brutally murdered, Yakov Avinu refused to be comforted. He held on to a belief that maybe Yosef HaTzaddik was alive. And my friend shared with me that maybe Yosef HaTzaddik’s strength of וימאן was because his father believed in him, because his father was וימאן להתנחם, he held on to that slight glimmer of hope that maybe my Yosef will come back. That gave a strength to Yosef HaTzaddik, that in the darkest temptation, in the darkest Galus of Mitzrayim, he was able to hold on to his connection with his father. מורי ורבותי, we all have a father that's וימאן להתנחם. The Ribono shel Olam never did and never will give up on any one of us. He believes in us 100% that we can and we will overcome every Yetzer Hara that comes our way, that ultimately we will emerge victorious in this tremendous battle that the Yetzer Hara is waging with us. If we realize that the Ribono shel Olam believes in us, that will give us the strength to believe in ourselves. And when we have that strength to believe in ourselves, we will all be zoche to that וימאן. We will all be able to refuse and overcome the Yetzer Hara, to reach higher goals and continue growing. And with Klal Yisroel’s growth, the Ribono shel Olam will see us and be proud of us. And ultimately, in that zechus, we will be zoche to ביאת משיח צדקנו במהרה בימינו, אמן.
