You know, when I was approached
to make videos for Vayimaen
about Shemras Ha’einayim,
right away, it put me into the mindset
of Shemras Ha’einayim.
I started to learn a little bit,
to research,
and slowly but surely, I started finding
incredible things about Shemras Ha’einayim.
But more importantly,
I started being more careful myself
with Shemras Ha’einayim.
And I'm going to be honest,
Baruch Hashem, I don't struggle
in the larger areas of Shemras Ha’einayim,
but I'm human like everybody else
and I'm always looking around
and that's just how I was living my life.
But slowly but surely,
by watching the daily video,
by learning a little bit
more about Shemras Ha’einayim,
I started to be able
to control where I'm looking,
and I'm going to be honest,
sometimes it's a Nisayon,
but I use some of the strategies that
some of the speakers have spoken about.
I’ll look the other way and I'll say:
Ribono shel Olam, I need this.
I'm asking you for this.
Please kick back.
And the truth is that it's working
and it's working magnificently.
I just want to add one tiny little layer,
because I'm already
a few weeks into this,
and there's this thing
that's nagging at me.
It's kind of looming in the background.
Like, am I going to live
the rest of my life
having to constantly work
on my Shemras Ha’einayim
or is it going to come to me
at some point
that I'm just going
to have Shemiras Ha’einayim?
You know,
I don't know the answer to that question,
but I know that
the more I think about years ahead,
the more difficult
it becomes for me to be Shomer Einayim.
But if I just think about today.
I'm going here, I'm going there.
I want to be careful
with Shemiras Ha’einayim.
Somehow the Ribono shel Olam gives me
the Siyata D’shmaya to get through
that episode, to get through that day.
And you know what?
I'm seeing the Ribono shel Olam’s
Yad Hashem in my life
in a way that I've never seen it before.
So for those of us
that are a few weeks in,
it's day by day,
it's event by event, it's place by place.
Keep strong, keep doing it.
And B’ezer Hashem,
the Ribono shel Olam will keep giving us
all the things that we ask him for.
