Fleeing the Wedding Fiasco | Rabbi David Pinto

Shalom the story I want to tell you today is one of the best story that I saw how Hashem you give a reward to people who do the best to keep their eyes clean. It's not easy. Don't think I have a white beard. Don't think I am a tzaddik. I am a man like everybody, but I do my best. There is no limit how much you do your best. You cannot say you are perfect. We live in a world that there is no perfection. Impossible. But when Hashem he see that you do the best, so Hashem will help you. I was supposing to be mesader kiddushin. I made a condition with the family that I want to sneak out. I don't want to go to be mesader kiddushin and to see bad pictures, to see things that I should not that I cannot see. You know, unfortunately, especially in that place was a place very well known that there is no sne'ot. Of course, the parents they said that way it's going to be religious wedding. You can come and he promised me a big amount of money. But the issue was a big amount. So, I did all the trip from France to that place, 14 hours flying. Then I had to go to the place where the wedding was supposing to be. When I arrived there, it was terrible. Terrible, terrible. I ran away. I ran away. Of course, the father of the chatan he came, he told me, "Rabbi David, I'm sorry, but please there is only you who can do the chuppah. Don't everybody everybody came for." Said, "No, I can't stay. Not for the money you want to give me. I will destroy my spiritual life. No, I won't." There was another rabbi there that did the chuppah. When I went back to the hotel, I said to myself, "David, you lost a big amount of money, but you won your olam haba." My friend, in that night, somebody that he was invited to that wedding, when he saw what happened, he came to my room. He told me, "You did a big kiddush Hashem. What you did, I'm going to double you what the ba'al habayit was supposing I know he was supposing to give you X money, I want to give you twice the money." So, I won. I won the money and I won my eyes. So, my friend, do like me, you will win.
