Emunah in Yourself | Rabbi Avraham Schorr

The word וימאן can be put together by changing the order of the letters to ויאמן, in Lashon of Emunah, of belief. Others explain that it means belief in HaKadosh Baruch Hu. I think there's another explanation that's important for everybody to know. It's a belief in what the person is. Believing in yourself, believing in your Kochos HaNefesh. Believing that you have the ability to overcome, believing that you are strong enough to overcome. When a person doesn’t know his strength, then the person doesn't say no. When a person believes in himself and believes that he has the ability to overcome, then he can be וימאן. A person has to believe in himself. A person has a חלק אלוה ממעל, he has a Neshama HaKedoshah. A Neshama HaKedoshah is something that's just like כביכול HaKadosh Baruch Hu. A Ko’ach to do everything that is good, to be able to overcome everything that is bad. That is the ויאמן that a person has to have, Emunah in himself. When a person has Emunah in himself, He realizes that he has the ability to overcome. He has to have Emunah that he has a Neshama HaKedoshah, Emunah that if he will do the wrong thing, he will make a mark on his Neshama, a fleck on his Neshama. Believing in oneself, believing that a person has Kochos, believing that a person has Kedushah gives the person the ability to say no, gives the person the ability to be וימאן. We have to strengthen our Emunah in oneself. Believing in the person's Kochos, believing in the person's Kedushah, believing in the person that he has the ability to overcome every hardship and then we will be able to say וימאן. When the person thinks that I'm anyway going to fall through, he doesn't start to say no, but a person who believes in himself that he'll be able to go all the way till the end, he'll be able to overcome, he’ll be able to fight the battle and overcome. Then he has the Ko’ach to be וימאן, and to say no and to withhold himself from every ראייה, from every מחשבה, and do the Ratzon of HaKadosh Baruch Hu.
