Do You Have a Pulse? | Rabbi Shlomo Landau

Just a short while back, Vayimaen released a video, like it does every single day, but this video, entitled We Have a Pulse, perhaps garnered more responses than any video in the history of Vayimaen. It was the story of Ari Dachs, a young father, who gets a call that his little baby is in cardiac arrest. It was the story of the grandfather, Shimon Dachs, a Hatzalah member himself, standing on the side, not knowing what to do. But most importantly, it was a moment that Ari Dachs stole away from the action and had a genuine, real, raw conversation with the Ribono shel Olam. He begged and he pleaded that Hashem save his little baby, and in exchange, he offered his eyes, a life that would be upgraded with Shmiras Ha’einayim and Kedushah, a life without social media, deleting Instagram, deleting TikTok. And miraculously, his son comes back to life and continues to defy all medical prognosis, as he develops, Baruch Hashem, into a sweet little baby. But in the history of Vayimaen, perhaps, we never got such a response. Hundreds of people watched the video and committed to delete Instagram, to delete TikTok, to go off of social media, and many of them did it as a Zchus for this little boy, Yehoshua Levi ben Ahuva Malka Chana. And I want to tell you what's so remarkable about that, because if you look at the statistics of inspirational videos, TED talks and the like, the research shows that between 0% and 4% of people that watch an inspirational video actually do something. And with the margin of error, it's actually 0%. But those statistics don't apply for ממלכת כהנים וגוי קדוש. As Bnei Yisroel, we see inspiration, we see an opportunity, we jump on the bandwagon and we upgrade our life, as a Zchus for someone else, or even as a Zchus for ourselves. So if you are watching the sequel to We Have a Pulse, do something. Don't be the 96%. Be Klal Yisroel, who's above statistics. Be ממלכת כהנים. Be גוי קדוש. Perhaps we can delete an app, perhaps we can upgrade our level, perhaps we can install a filter, perhaps we could stop watching YouTube. All of us know somebody out there that needs a Refuah, that needs a Yeshuah, that needs something upgraded in their life. And the same way that Ari's moment had an incredible, incredible impact, we, too, can latch into that power and impact our lives in the most monumental way.
