There's a fascinating teaching of our sages in Sifri. The pasuk says in Parshas Haazinu, Moshe Rabeinu says about Hashem, He is a God of Emunah, a God of faith, ואין עוול, without iniquity. So most commentators say אל אמונה means He's a God whom you can trust. He's faithful, He's trustworthy, He's נאמן. But the Sifri gives another interpretation and wonders: What does it mean אל אמונה? In who does He have Emunah? For Hashem, it's not hard to have Emunah in Himself. I understand, I need to have Emunah. We all have the gift of Emunah. But Hashem? He doesn't have to believe that He exists. He knows that He exists like I know that I exist. What does it mean Hashem is אל אמונה? The Sifri says something incredible. You know who Hashem has Emunah in? Hashem has Emunah in the world. He believed in the world and He created it. That requires Emunah. Because He created a world that is so vulnerable. We are all capable of so many different choices. We have so many wounds and challenges and obstacles to contend with. And yet Hashem possessed and possesses the Emunah to create us and to continuously create us, because there's something so glorious, so incredible that He sees. Our opportunity is to be able to tap into that. Can you trust yourself like God trusts you? Can you trust your world like God trusts you? Can you trust that under all the layers of darkness and challenges and struggles and pain and traumas, there is such infinite, glorious light, waiting to emerge in its full splendor? Learn to trust yourself like God trusts you.
