A Mitzvah to Remember | Rabbi David Yosef

It is written in the Torah, To keep our eyes pure, it's not so simple. In our generation, it became a very, very difficult test, because outside, in the street, it's very bad. When we go, we have to look our way, but also we can see something bad, immodest. And now there is a cell phone, computers, internet, all of that caused to people in our time a big, big test. And we have to pass the test. Somebody came to my father and told him: Rabbi, I see you, you learn a lot of Torah, and you remember what you learned. Can you give me the secret, how could you remember everything, like you remember? My father said: Yes, I will tell you. The pasuk said, You want to remember? Keep your eyes, not to look at bad things. There was a rabbi, people used to go to him to get a Bracha. His name was Rabbi Elazar Abuhatzeira, עליו השלום, זכר צדיק לברכה I asked my father, maybe 30 years ago, if I have to go to him to get a Bracha. My father told me, Go to him. Because this rabbi, he protects his eyes. He covers his face all the time. He looks only at Kedushah, only good things. And because of that, his Bracha will be fulfilled. It's not an extra Mitzvah. It's not that if you do it, it's לפנים משורת הדין, it's more than you need. It's mandatory. You cannot be here, God-fearing, without this, to protect your eyes, not to look at bad things, immodest. So it's a big test, but it's possible. If we want, it's possible. And B’ezrat Hashem, everyone will do that, like my father said, He will remember his Torah, he will grow up with Torah and fear of God. I want to bless the organization, Vayimaen, Good name, Yosef HaTzaddik, Vayimaen. B’ezrat Hashem, you will be successful that many people, you will convince them to keep this Mitzvah.
