Urgent Message From Police Chief Rob Lawson LPD

good afternoon everybody I'm Chief Lawson from the Lakewood Police Department and i' just like to give you an advisory uh about the impending snowstorm which at this point is forecasted to be a blizzard with accumulations of up to 18 Ines of snow and it may get progressively worse similar to the last big snowfall we had uh I've talked to uh the director of Public Works John Franklin he has advised me that the plowing will start Friday uh evening when the snow reaches 3 in or so uh prior to that uh they'll be sing the streets for a couple hours and we're asking everybody if at all possible please keep your vehicles off the streets in in uh driveways or parking lots this will enable Public Works to uh do a much better job getting the snow removed from our streets also uh with the Advent of moai shabas please do not go out and drive unless it's an absolute emergency uh the last significant snowstorm we had we had many many many people um going out and driving and getting stuck in the snow and walking away from the vehicles again that result in us having to tow quite a few vehicles and issue summonses um so it's much easier and safer for you to please stay at home if at all possible I'd like to wish everybody a a good shabas and a safe weekend thank you very much
