United Lubavitcher Yeshiva, ULY on Ocean Parkway #1- Football in side yard during recess- RC Dalfin

Shalom, my dear friend. Behind me is the courtyard of the Lubavitchi Yeshiva on Ocean Parkway between Avenue H and I, known as United Lubavitchi Yeshiva, or ULY. I'm looking at the courtyard because this is where I used to play with my friends when we were in Yeshiva in elementary and also in the sifta, football. You can see that towards the right in the back there is this entrance to go down. It's covered with brick around it. And I remember I was the quarterback and a a friend of mine, Yossi Davis, who lives in Florida today, he was like the wide receiver. And I threw him what was called a bomb. A bomb means I threw it up in the air and Yossi was a tremendous athlete. He was able to jump high. He was strong as an ox, ken yirbu hora. And he jumped up, he caught the ball, and his head went straight into the brick over there and he had a concussion. Baruch Hashem, he was all right. But I recall that time uh today they've named Today they've named the the uh the courtyard Kesser Mordechai. I guess someone gave money to to Yeshiva and they named it Kesser Mordechai. But in my time this was our recess. We would go out and when the weather was nice in the spring and in the fall, we would play football out here. This is a a memory that we boys learning were given an outlet to play ball, to get some exercise, and then we went back to learn F 36. Like the zone.
