Vayimaen is all about resisting temptations. Temptations are part of our life. We're here in this world to fight those temptations and it will never cease to exist until Moshiach comes. But that's why we are the Chosen People and we have a natural immune system that the Ribono shel Olam built into our bodies and into our Neshama, so we could say no. And I want to share with you a very powerful story that happened just a few months ago. There was a Yid, we'll call him R’ Avraham, I know him personally, and he has a one-person office. He is in his office every single day and it's only him. In that office, he does business with a lot of big corporate companies, selling certain items for a very hefty profit. It was one Tuesday afternoon when he sent out a quote to a company that had asked him for a certain product, and as he was sending out that quote, he was noticing that his filter is not kicking in. As he finished that email, he called up the company and he says, I think that my filter is not working properly. Is that a fact? They checked in and said: Yes, you're right. He said: I am leaving my office right now, being that I do not want to be in the office alone with a computer without a filter. Please call me as soon as the filter is back up and running, because I'm in the middle of a transaction as we speak. The people on the other end assured him that it will be done within 5 to 10 minutes. He stepped out of the office, he went into his car and he waited. This was at 12:30 in the afternoon. At 1:00 he checks in with them. The problem was larger than they expected, and it was still not fixed. At 2:00 and at 3:00 and at 4:00 and at 5:00 they were still working on it. At 7:30 p.m., they called him, apologizing that finally the filter’s back up and running and they hoped that he won't be upset, because they took a day out of his business life. The next morning at 9:00, he walks into his office and he opens up his email and the first thing that comes up, that corporate office, has one line. We agree to the price. Just send us the stuff. And he was bewildered. So he went back to that thread of emails and he noticed that when he sent out the quote, twenty minutes later, corporate sent back a rejection. They wanted a much lower price per item. A half hour later, being that he did not respond, they upped that price. But he still did not respond. It took till 5:00 for them to say, Yes, we agree to the original price. Just send us the stuff. He resisted temptation. He had no other way of communicating with that company, and that was one of his biggest customers. But yet he knew he will not be in the office with a computer that does not have a filter that's up and running properly. It not only saved his Neshama, but Hashem showed him that you just saved a huge amount of negotiation back and forth and he admitted he would have given in to a lower price, because he could not afford to lose that customer. But Hashem wanted to give him a hug. That is the power of a Yid. That is the power of Vayimaen. Now let's not make any mistakes. Does every Vayimaen get an instant reward from Hashem? Absolutely not. But there's no question that we are saving our Neshama, we are saving our children, we are saving our future, and that is what really, really counts.
