mintzberg he was the shiva of yeshiva he lived 1943 to 2018 and he wrote a 23 volume satisfaction parasha and the holidays called ben melech and then he talks about shabbos he brings a very spoke about going into the room with hashem shabbas were disconnecting from the hustle and bustle from the chaos the to do's and tasks of the week we are entering into this cocoon this place to be together and to be with ourselves and to be with hashem the hodos it is good we thank you we sing to hashem but captures when he asks the character i shabbas how does he do it he characterized sound of the wind the the wrap of the thunder nature is filled with the sounds that are songs to hashem each human being has a unique and distinct voice and whether we're speaking or singing we are contributing hashem's approach um the heavens are telling the story of the glory of hashem in the handiwork lift your eyes to the heavens and see who created all of this you walk by in boca and you see the butterflies and the flies and the bees but you also see the iguanas and the lizards and the alligators and the crocodiles and everyone is contributing their unique instrument their voice to create this song this harmony this symphony they came from hazal bryce of the parikshire connectivity the whole idea of parakshira is invoking the image that every participant in creation everything that was created in itself turns and sings something unique to god so you can walk around the lake and down the block you can walk through life and through every conversation we have and see and interpret and absorb everyone and everything is contributing to this incredible harmony of hashem never allah each creation is singing its unique praise to god because every creation is unique in its composure it is unique in its contribution when you put it all together and when you combine it and that's why the bigger you are the more you know the more sophisticated and advanced you live the more you're singing to hashem because you can hear not one note and you're not hearing one monochrome instrument you're hearing several instruments you're hearing an entire orchestra when you look around the world and you see everything singing to hashem then you are not just hearing one instrument but you're hearing an entire elaborate orchestra so why is this on chamas why not sunday or monday why not wednesday or thursday why not another day of the week why not another holiday on our calendar should be the day that we hear the symphony and we see the orchestra that is the world that is praising and honoring and calling out to hashem why is it shabbos so listen to what he answers he says manchester united are clear because their instruments missing if their instruments missing you can't hear it's not the fully developed piece the way it's meant to be heard but yamashima comes at the end of all of creation sunday monday tuesday wednesday thursday friday everything the heavens and the earth the land and the sea the birds and the animals and the insects and the fish and ultimately finally the human beings now each instrument now every member of the orchestra has arrived it's only on shabbos when every member of the orchestra has arrived now we heal the orchestra in its full glory now we can look at the world we live in and appreciate its complexity and its beauty and now we get closer to our creator so shabbas he says is a time of go for that walk remember during corona when we were locked down and shut in and distant from one another so we went for walks on shabbos the only time we saw people was from six feet away behind masks and we pledged and we promised this is amazing i'm out for a walk with my loved ones with my family i feel connected i see others i'm listening to the birds chirping and the leaves rustling and i'm i'm interacting and connecting with nature and with going for a walk and that is shabbos and we promised when we pledged we would never stop but many of us have well it's time to go back out so um there's nothing buzzing in your pocket there's nothing ringing in your ear there's no device that you're talking to or scrolling on so you can't see what's going on shabbos shabbos at the end of a week of creativity and creation shabbos when we disconnect from the world now we can connect and hear the harmony now we can hear and see the orchestra so you shabbos lift your eyes what a world you've created look at my family around this table look at my friends around the shul look at the iguanas and the fish and the lizards and the butterflies listen to the leaves that are rustling listen to the zemiros we're singing for you and the beautiful harmonies that the people i'm with listen to it all and lift our eyes and see hashem that is part of preparing for and experiencing shabbos we turn friday into arab shabbos play that song already don't prepare in silence whether you're setting the table or you're still cooking in the kitchen whether you're getting everyone dressed and ready turn on that music have an arab shabbos playlist let the music play because it will lift and it will move us entirely until next time be happy
