A runway at Heathrow was briefly closed due to due to a grass fire delaying flights. Grass fire on the grass. Smoke was seen rising into the sky from a passenger terminal. The blaze was a grass area fire which led the runway to be temporarily closed. According to a Heathrow runway's account, the fire broke out on Thursday, forcing the London airport to pause flights while emergency crews put it out. Several flights ended up delayed or cancelled because of the shutdown. Now, in other news, a familiar face was seen in town. The chief rabbi of Iran is visiting New York. The Homeland Security Committee voted um the vote was 8 to5 along party lines after Fouchi refused to answer questions at least last week's hearing on the origins of CO pleading the fifth more than 100 times. Committee Chairman Ran Paul plans to send the contempt referral straight to the Justice Department and asked Thursday night whether they should prosecute. President Trump said, "Well, they prosecuted Peter Navaro and Steven Bannon, two very decent people, so maybe they should." 161 days into the war now, yeah, with Iran and the straight of Hermus deal, everyone expected yesterday still has not been announced. Iran and Oman say that they have new now agreed on the exact route ships will take through the strait and the joint statement is in its final drafting but Iran added its conditions. Thran says the straight does not reopen until America lifts its naval blockade on Iran obviously and on Iranian ports and the reports say that Iran's draft would block American and Israeli ships from passing something Washington immediately rejected. Overnight, a top Iranian general dug in deeper, saying Iran will never allow second shipping corridor and warning that American ships will face casualties if the blockade continues. President Trump asked Thursday if a deal was re reach was asked Thursday if a deal was reached, waved the whole thing off and it's sort he said it's sort of open right now and we control it. He says and on the war itself he says I think it's going to be pretty soon. I don't think that can go much longer. And here is what the blockade is doing to Iran. The Financial Times reports that no tankers have have loaded at Kag Island, Iran's main oil export terminal. We spoke about this many times, right? About for a week. Satellite pictures show the loading docks sitting empty. Iran is still collecting money from oil it shipped out before the blockade, but those cargos are running out and instead of filling its short uh um its storage tanks, Iran is now cutting its own oil production because the tanks are full and nothing can leave. Thran answered with an insult. The speaker of Iran's parliament accused Trump of theater diplomacy. And the strait is only half the fight. The other half is Iran's nuclear program. And one mountain in particular south of Natans or Nathan's nuclear site. Iran has spent years digging a fortress into a mountain. The Americans call it the pickaxe mountain. It is buried deeper than Foraux. The site America bombed last summer may be too deep for any bomb to reach. Inspectors have never been allowed inside. Nobody outside Iran knows for sure what it what is in there now. And satellite pictures show Iran is still digging and reinforcing it right now. Even though the ceasefire deal signed in June, says the nuclear work stops. Trump said in a few weeks, a few weeks ago, word for word, we're going to take out Pickax Mountain. Tell the Iranians to get ready. tell them we're coming and there is nothing they can do about it. And he says no final deal gets signed unless inspectors walk through those tunnels first. The Pentagon is rewriting America's plan for how it would fight a nuclear war. And now the plan was built around the giant bombs, the kind that wipe out an entire city. Those bombs are so terrible that enemies don't really don't really believe America would ever press the button. And that makes the threat weaker, obviously. So the new plan adds small nuclear bombs made to destroy an army base or a group of tanks, not a city. The thinking is if the enemy believes America would actually use one, they'll be more afraid to start start up with them. Critics warn the opposite. Once a nuclear bomb is small enough to use, someone will use it. And a small one leads to a big one. The plan is being written for a possible war with China or Russia. Meanwhile, the White House is hunting for a leaker and the Justice Department is now on the case. The Washington Post reported that President Trump um confronted War Secretary Pete Hex at Camp David demanding to know why he was why he was misled about how empty America's missile stockpiles have become from the war. Now, uh from this war, obviously, the White House calls that report 100% fake news. and Trump posted he is extremely happy with Hexath and the anger is aimed at the leakers. Trump ordered the Justice Department to find whoever leaked the stockpile numbers. He calls them um treasonous and promises long jill sentence on the stockpiles themselves. In his words, we have certain types of munitions that are very powerful and we have an unlimited supply of and we have others where it's a little bit tighter and we are getting them. We're getting them in on a daily basis, he says. And he blamed the shortage partly on the Biden administration giving Ukraine ammunition free of charge. No charge. President Trump said this week that the attacker he called that the attack that he called off was no bluff. He says we were all set for the biggest attack since World War II and they called me and they said please don't do it. Please let's talk. We are ready to go. And he tied the threat straight to the gas pumps. He says oil will drop very fast when the war ends. He said but we may have to send it up again. You know what happens when we send it up again? We hope we don't have to. He says listen to this. dropping and we may have to send it up again. We may have to. You know what happens when we send it up, but we hope we don't have to. But uh when that oil and gas >> So gas is um averaging about $49 a gallon now, a third since the war began. Theis hit a second Saudi oil tanker within hours yesterday. Now, after claiming this morning uh the the the morning strike on the tanker Waffa in northern Red Sea two days ago, the terror group says it hit a tanker called the Daisy with a ballistic missile in the Gulf of um Aiden, forcing it to turn around. A British maritime agency confirmed ships in both areas reported explosions with all the crews safe. Let me take a minute to explain this war because we keep mentioning it in the passing. So the Houthis are the group that rules most of Yemen, Saudi Arabia's neighbor, right to the south, and they are armed and backed by Iran. For years, Saudi Arabia fought them and kept Yemen's ports and airports closed off, controlling what goes in and out of the country. Two weeks ago, the Houthis flipped it around. They announced their own blockade on Saudi Arabia. Their words, blockade for blockade, an eye for an eye. You closed our ports for years. Now we close your shipping. Since then, they have fired ballistic missiles at n at eight o Saudi oil tankers. And when the Saudis um rerouted their ships north to get around them, the missiles followed north. And they also flew a drone into Saudi Arabia airport near the border and knocked out its radar and the airport is still closed. Saudi officials say 11 civilians among them, a child, were wounded in Thursday's attack on the Nar Najan border area. Now the group is attacking on the ground too. At least 58 Yemeni government soldiers were killed in Houthi attacks and the deadliest fighting inside Yemen in over 3 years. A senior Saudi official says intelligence from Saudi Arabia, America and other countries show Iran's revolutionary guard directing the Houthis and the militias in Iraq to prepare co to to prepare coordinated attacks on Saudi Arabia itself from the south and the north at once. the targets, he said, enemy sites, ports, and airports. The Saudis say that they watched the drones and missiles being moved. He his warning, Saudi Arabia will not hesitate to take all necessary measures to deal with any aggression. But inside Iraq, the biggest militia leader, is pulling the other way. Now, Hadi al- Amiri, the head of the Badrer organization, Iraq's biggest Iranbacked militia, put out a video telling the militias to hold their fire over last month's Americans and Saudi Arabia strikes that killed more than 20 of their men. His words, "Bite the wound for the greater good of Iraq." Iraqis army went on high alert in case they don't listen. Still, the Saudis are talking to the Houthis through messengers in Oman to stop the attacks and preparing uh military plans in case the talks fail. And the neighbors made it official this morning. Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan signed a joint defense agreement today in Saudi Arabia and they're calling it the Mecca joint defense agreement. The treaty's words, "Any army attack against one of the three shall be regarded as an attack against them all." It's like a NATO kind of thing. Erdogan flew in to sign it with Saudi crown prince and Pakistan's prime minister. Pakistan is the only Muslim country with a nuclear weapons and an analysts say the deal effectively spreads Pakistan's nuclear umbrella over Saudi Arabia and as well Turkey. Eight years ago, Turkey and Saudi Arabia were bitter rivals. Today, the UN one defense pact built against the threat from Iran and the Houthis. Iran answered within hours. A member of Iran's parliament posted, "Change your policies so you don't have to beg others for security." And this is all one family of trouble. While Iran negotiates over the straight of Ramuz on one side of Arabia, now Iran's partner is squeezing the Red Sea on the other side. Between the two waterways sits most of the wood of the world's oil, staying with Turkey, the same week it signed that pact, its foreign minister went after Israel. Hadan Hakan Fidan said Israel's attacks in Syria threaten the region. Gaza shows Netanyahu does not want peace and Israel's actions in the West Bank are acts of terror. Israel's foreign minister Gdan Sar answered this morning. What what Minister Fidan wants is for Israel to stop protecting itself from threats to its security. This will not happen, he says. and it threw Turkeykey's record back 5% of Syria occupied a third of Cyprus or 50 for 50 years and bombing the Kurds across two countries. Staying with Iran and a report breaking this morning about the new supreme leader interesting report Iran wire an opposition news outlet reports that Mushabay may be on his deathbed. Two sources close to the president's own administration told the outlet that Mushtaba has not met a single cabinet member since February and that the talk at the highest levels of regime is that he is extremely in critical condition and could pass away at any moment. Um one source said in his words, "We would not be surprised if we heard the news of um his martyrdom very soon." Iran's new president admitted on state television that direct contact with the Supreme Leader is in his words very difficult. There is no official word from Iran. This is not confirmed yet. But here is what nobody argues about. Nobody has seen the man in 5 months. And there are questions whether his own president has either. Iran International, an opposition news channel, reports that President Masud Peskin was granted exactly one meeting with Musha. After repeatedly demanding it and threatening to resign, guards drove the president to a secret spot in Thran and put him in the back seat of an ordinary car with blacked out windows where a man introduced himself as the supreme leader was waiting. And now the car was so dark and the two men could not see each other and the guards did not allow a handshake. The report says Peskin later asked his own staff whether the voice in the dark was really Kamana at all. Since taking over after his father was killed in February, Mushabani has not released a single video, photo, or even audio recording. Iranian media say even background noise in a recording could reveal where he is hiding. And he is not the only one hiding. His own claim that Russia and Ukraine together are losing 25,000 soldiers a month. And since Russia came up, a follow-up for the listeners who asked about the report that Russia and China helped Iran hit American soldiers and bases. Here is what the story where the story stands. Back in March, American newspapers um reported that Russia was passing Iran satellite pictures of American American troops and ships and bases. CIA director told the senators Iran was asking Russia and China for intelligence help. Since then, 18 American soldiers have been killed in this war, three of them in missile strikes on air bases in Jordan. War Secretary Pete Hexith was asked in the Senate straight out if Russia and China are helping Iran. His words definitely adversary alignment details that are classified. President Trump said the opposite. Putin and Xi Jinping are short and personally on Truth Social. Two major countries that people speak of often in terms of Iran are in my opinion not participating. If they did, it would be very bad for them. Certainly not in their best interest. Then Zalinski came out with his own intelligence. Russian satellite photographed American bases in Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait right before Iranian strikes. And again after to check the damage. Trump's answer. We'll find out if that's true. I'll ask Putin about this. Yes. Well, that was a week and a half ago. No telephone no telephone has been reported since to the media. And in Germany, a drone packed with explosives was found sitting next to a Ukrainian cargo plane. Over in England, a jury found a 51-year-old anti-Israel activist guilty of 5 months firebombing spree. The Norwich woman attacked McDonald's, two Starbucks stores, and a building that houses the BBC's local office using homemade thermite, a chemical that basically um mix a chemical mix that burns hot enough to melt metal. Cameras caught her light lighting the devices with ordinary sparkles, sparklers like they use for fireworks, and she left anti-Israel posters at the scene. The jury found her guilty for criminal damage and making an explosive substance and cleared her of the heavier charge of trying to cause explosions. Now, a bomb exploded on a packed passenger mini bus outside Damascus on Thursday afternoon. The blast hit during rush hour in Jerema, a Drews and Christian suburb of the Syrian capital, killing two people and wounding 13. No group, no terrorist group has claimed responsibility. In Thailand, a 14-year-old boy shot and killed his own grandparents at home and then went back to school outside Bangkok and opened fire again. At least six people were killed at the school, teachers and students among them, and the youngest victim was a 12-year-old. Now, more than 20 were wounded, several critically. The boy used his grandfather's legally registered hangup. When it was over, he killed himself. Nassau County ex um executive here in New York and the New York governor candidate who's running for New York governor Bruce Blakeman is calling for a public protest against Mayar Ramadani at the September 11th memorial. Blakeman is the Republican candidate like I said in your governor says that anyone at the 25th anniversary ceremony should peacefully turn their backs if the mayor tries to speak. Court papers show 37year-old Aron Faren Finaci admitted to a detective that he set the fire and that he was behind about 25 more fires over the past year. That confession added more uh four more arson charges on the spot. The detective testified that Farani, Finaci, whatever his name is, studied the weather to pick a day with high winds, low humidity, and high heat, and always carried cigarettes so he'd have an excuse for the lighter and matches in his pocket. He was caught because a grandfather driving with his grandson spotted him kneeling by a tree by a treeine minutes before the smoke rose and flagged down the police. Finaci already served 10 years in prison for killing his own father in Arizona. What a terrible thing this is. A judge doubled his bail to $2 million, calling him a danger to the community while firefighters are still um battling the flames he lit. What an awful story. An 8-year-old boy from needed two emergency surgeries after swallowing a button battery. His family says he took the dead battery out of a drawing tablet and put it in his mouth and it burnt his throat badly. doctors at Adasa um um hospital operated twice and he's now recovering.
