So how can I clearly show him from the Tanakh at the New Testament itself that Christian theology replaces Israel's covenantal role with faith in Jesus? How do you know that Israel cannot be replaced and never be replaced? Which is really many Christians would source out Romans chapter 2, how it ends, Romans 11. They're really reading it wrong. But you're not asking about the Christian Bible. So it's very easy because Tanakh says that the nation of Israel is eternal. So said the Lord who created the sun to illuminate the day, the moon, the stars, the night. If these laws shall pass before me, so will I cast off the children of Israel as being a nation before me. Moreover, you see explicitly, there's so many answers to this question, but you see explicitly in the end time prophecy, and I want to be very careful to select texts that everyone knows is an end time text like everyone everyone's on board. Like, as an example, among Christians, there's a big argument about Romans 11. And as it turns out, people who believe Christians who believe in replacement theology and Christians who reject replacement theology both use Romans chapter 11. Okay, the people who reject replacement theology are correct. Their reading of Romans 11 is correct. But I'm not this is not about that. Let's go to I'm just picking one because the passages all over that Israel cannot be departed that Hashem is with the children of Israel. And in fact in the in the chapter of the blessings and the curse Leviticus chapter 26 it says there that anger Jews and they sin but I will have mercy on them because of the promise I made to Abraham and Isaac and Jacob they will return I'll have mercy on them. So it can't be means all these texts that talk about the eternal covenant with the chysical children of Israel acknowledges the sins of the past. This is very transparent. So I want to there are many ways to address your question, but I'd like to address it in a way that's a little different and I think it's novel and I think in a very transparent way completely blows up replacement theology. And what I'm going to present to you is a a passage which talks about the restoration of the Jewish people to the land. It's end times. Everyone has to agree because everyone doesn't agree then it doesn't make sense. Right? And the text itself says that this is the very same people that sinned. Why? Because of their faithlessness and therefore they were ex off in the land but at the end of days they're going to be restored. Do you follow? So we're not going to like normally a person who has some even superficial knowledge of Tanakh would just go randomly into hundreds and hundreds of passages and my covenant will never pass away. Never. Never. I could do that. But I want to do is I want to dance with you in this one type of passage which is all over Tanh like Amos ends as an example. It's a very harsh book. I mean, almost begins with tremendous criticism of the children of Israel. But at the end, he says ultimately you're going to be replanted and never be uprooted. See the last two vers. I'm not going to even tell you the verse number because I don't want to overload you. The last two verses 94 and 15. But what I would like to do is enter approach this question at a certain uh trajectory of attack. That's so critical that's immutable. It can't be upended. And I want you to join me in Ezekiel chapter 39. And the reason this is really very germanine to us is this is end time prophecy about the time we're in right now. It's the war of gumog. So Ezekiel 39, everybody knows this is messianic. This is the grand war between Israel and Persia. The end of days it's there. Okay. Why is there a war that immediately precedes the coming of Messiah? When I say proceeds, I mean, it's part of the messianic order of events, but this is the the last event that triggers the coming of Messiah. So, we're actually told explicitly, if you would, if you can, please open up Ezekiel 39 and verse 21. And I I read it in context but I assure you it is very very much in context. It prior to that explicitly we are shown with a very powerful im not even imagery of the utter destruction of the enemies of Israel. Okay complete hor they're all destroyed. 39:21 I really want you to read it inside. and the wisest to display my glory among the nations that all the nations will see the punishment I afflict and lay upon them. Verse 22 is very interesting because sometimes you have Jews who go what happens now like what am I supposed to do? Verse 22, that day forward Israel will know that I am Lord. Now look at 23 and this is where you start dancing. So right now is the time you stand up with earphones, headphones is on speaker. This is where the the dancing begins. Verse 23. And the nation will know that the people of Israel went into exile for their sin. What did they do wrong? It continues, "Because they were unfaithful to me." What did I do? I hid my face from them and handed them over to their enemies and they fell by the sword. Could this be Christian? The church can't be. It has to be Israel. Literally the text is not whitewashing anything here. It's it's painful to read this as a Jew. And I dealt with them according to their uncleanness and according to their offenses and I hid my face from them. This can't be the church to the church did the right thing. They're the believers. In verse 25 that I'll restore the fortunes of Jacob. Could be the church. It can't be the church. And have compassion on the people of Israel with my zealous holy name. then their sin and so on will be put aside will be shamed thee. Now you have to tie this to Isaiah 40 verse 1 and two. Comfort ye comfort ye my people declares the Lord. Why should they be come? So it tells us there because Jerusalem has taken double for the Lord's iniquity. The Jews are punished. And then it says when I had brought them back from the nations that have gathered from the countries of their enemies, I'll prove holy in them in the sight of all the nations openly. This can't be the church. This is all you have to do. You follow? Because if you There are many ways to address this but this is a an approach which is it can't be anything else because the text is saying that the Jews are restored that the Jews Israel defeats his enemies that's the context and it's the physical descendants of Abraham Isaac and Jacob who went into a very long exile because of what? because they're unbelief. They lose everything. It was all there. The prophets are very harsh towards the Jews. No one. But at the end, look at 3:5. They'll return. They'll return to God and David, which is Messiah. So that I would say is is just the most simple, transparent. It there's no possible response to this by someone who believes in replacement theology or called covenant theology or supersessionism. They all mean the same thing which is what the Catholic Church believes, what the Orthodox believe church believes. And the Protestant church is divided. That's it. Um this was the view of the church fathers. It was the view of the reformers. But there are many Christians today that utterly reject this. They're called dispensationalists. It's not really the proper term for them. But they they're very often called dispensationalist. It's an inaccurate term, but it became conventional. Um that's fine. There are incidentally one thing is there are many Catholics, many Catholics who believe that God has restored the Jews and reject this personally. Not the view of the church. Although some popes have made statements like Benedict that came close to it. They were trying to be ecumenical. But there are Catholics that believe that the Jews physical Jews are restored according to God's providence.
