EXPLOSIVE! Missionaries Target Israeli Jews—Isaiah 53—Rabbi Singer Shuts It Down!

Let's say Isaiah 48:20 and 21 where it tells you that the servant is Israel. He doesn't want you to do that. So, instead you're not going to believe that. He's quoting the book of John chapter 3:36. [music] Why John? Why not Isaiah? Because they're trying to hide the truth from you. They want to convert you to Christianity and they know, they're very well aware that if they tell the truth and they quote the passages that surround these passages you'll never want anything to do with the Christian religion. See this guy [music] standing here is very cute. The guy who's yelling at me. I'm not going to put him on camera. >> [music] >> He I guess he might think I'm a missionary or something. >> Yes, you got to be. You got to be chased. You got to be chased. Oh. >> Okay. [music] That's very cute. Only in Jerusalem would I be doing a a program explaining [music] how what missionaries are doing and this fellow I guess who works in the stores is going >> [music] >> this stuff is garbage. I'm not kidding. This would only happen in Jerusalem. So, many of you recognize exactly where I am. I'm in the shuk Machaneh Yehuda right in the center of Jerusalem. The reason it's so crowded is because it's erev Shabbat before the Sabbath. And this is a very special Shabbat. Chodesh tov. What's remarkable is that missionaries know that Jews are here in the shuk. And as a result of that, they're here trying to convert Jews to Christianity. And I got handed this paper. There's a missionary standing with a kippah. Are you sure you No one would ever know that he was a missionary. Never. He had to keep on just like an Orthodox Jew, and he was handing this thing out. And the key point is this thing is full of material designed to convert Jews to Christianity. We're right here with tens of thousands of Israelis coming here every Friday. I'm going to walk across street and I need to explain this to you. So, here it's a bit quieter right next to the shuk, Mahane Yehuda, which is an iconic center of the center of the whole thing. Just to give you a sense of bearings, if you went straight down that way about 20 minutes, you'd be in the old city of Jerusalem. But this is the heart of the Holy Land. As you can imagine, missionaries are all over the place seeking to convert Jewish people to the Christian religion. I was going to say it's shocking, but as you know, it's not. Handed this paper. I'm just walking through and people hand out little papers, you know, for different organizations, different causes. But this is one unique cause. As soon as the guy handed this to me, he looked up and saw me. I already had it in my hand and he spun around. By the time I was able to get a camera out, he had disappeared. He doesn't want to confront me. And the reason is I understand exactly what he's up to. He dresses an Orthodox Jew. The attempt is to convert Jewish people to Christianity. It's a very dangerous thing. And they blur the distinction between Judaism and Christianity in order to lure Jews who might otherwise resist a straightforward Christian message. This is really very telling. This handout that he gave me, so it's quoting Isaiah 53, okay? This is Isaiah 53, but in between the passages that he wants you to think about as you read Isaiah. So, here you have Isaiah 52 verse 13, which is really the beginning of Isaiah 53. The last three passages of Isaiah 52 really contain a a block of passages that are connected to 53. So, he quotes here Isaiah 52:13, but then he wants you he's directing his Israeli viewers, his Jewish viewers to instead of reading of the passages in Isaiah, they're scared of that. They're absolutely terrified that you might read the context of Isaiah 53. They are petrified that someone reading Isaiah 53 might back up and properly read it in context. I mean, let's say Isaiah 41:8-9, 42:4 verse 6, or 42:19, 43:10, verse 11, 44:1, 44:21. They don't want you to do that. Look at this here. It's a it the coding here below Isaiah 52:13, he's coding the book of Acts. Book of Acts. This is in the Hebrew, the book of Acts in Hebrew. 52:14. He's coding Luke chapter 23:33. I'm not kidding. Why would you quote Luke as a commentary on Isaiah? Why not quote Isaiah as a commentary on Isaiah? Why not quote Isaiah 49:3 that says that the servant is Israel? They can't do that. Why not? Cuz you would immediately realize that Isaiah 53 is the fourth of four servant songs that contain very important passages that tells who's the servant in Isaiah 53. They don't want you to see that. They don't want you to recognize that. They want you to convert to Christianity. They do not want you to remain Jewish. Now, you can look Jewish like that guy. You dress up as a Jew and be an impossible Orthodox Jew, but you're really a Christian missionary targeting Jews for conversion. Isaiah 53:1 Who would have believed our report? Me Emily Shmoe saying it was Isaiah 1:15 niggle sir. Isaiah 53:1 is right here in Hebrew. You would think he would tell you that you would look at let say Isaiah 48:20 and 21 where it tells you that the servant is Israel. He doesn't want you to do that. So instead you're not going to believe that. He's quoting the book of John chapter 3:36. Why John? Why not Isaiah? Because they're trying to hide the truth from you. They want to convert you to Christianity and they know they're very well aware that if they tell the truth and they quote the passages that surround these passages you'll never want anything to do with the Christian religion. Look. There's one thing here that's absolutely axiomatic. Listen very carefully. There is no doubt that Isaiah when writing the 53rd chapter of Isaiah presupposed that you have already read the chapters that introduce it introduce it. If what I'm saying doesn't make sense to you then you know nothing about reading not just the Bible but any literature. If you took any book that contains 66 chapters and started with the 53rd chapter how likely is it you'd know what the author intends? Very unlikely. The book of Isaiah as it turns out is almost all poetry. 90% of Isaiah is poetry. When you have texts that are in that are employing that kind of language poetic language symbolic language the context becomes vital. Why? Because you don't know who Isaiah intends when he speaks about the servant. If you don't know Isaiah 41:8-9 as an example where it says that Israel is my servant, Jacob is my servant, Abraham my friend, it's a very very famous chapter, very very famous passage, you will have no clue who Isaiah means in Isaiah 53. Do you get that? But these guys don't care. They just want you in a church. How will they do that? Quote Isaiah 53, but rip it out of context. That's what's going on here. So, this is very very dangerous for Jewish people who are here in the shuk. There are, let's say, I don't even know. Could there be 10,000 people here that are in the shuk on a typical Friday afternoon? Maybe more than that. So, by handing out this material, ripping passages out of context, and bear this in mind, you never want to read a passage out of context. Never want to do that. That's what missionaries want you to do. Missionaries want you to read a verse out of context. That's called an eisegesis. An eisegesis is the greatest crime you can commit against a spiritual text. Listen carefully. These missionaries want to convert you to Christianity. The way they do that is they rip verses out of context and then tell you, "Hey, what we think you should do is you could just quote from the book of Acts, >> [clears throat] >> from the book of Luke, from the book of John, book of John again, John again, the book of Matthew. Why would they be quoting from the book of Matthew? To explain Isaiah 53, cuz they don't want you to read Isaiah. Those who are speaking in Isaiah 53 are the gentile kings of nations who are astonished and bewildered at the end of days, who recognize that in fact the Jewish people triggered their own repentance and brought them to know about the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And number two is they recognize that the Jewish people suffered as a result of their own iniquities. That's what's critical. Missionaries don't want you to know this. Missionaries want you to read it out of context. Read it with the New Testament. See this guy standing here is very cute. He was yelling at me. >> [music] >> I'm not going to put him on camera. If you want to protect yourselves against the missionaries trying to convert you to Christianity, you don't have to become an expert or memorize the Christian Bible. What you rather do is know the real thing. Read the book of Isaiah in context. If you understand the book of Isaiah in context, no missionary will be able to rob you of a relationship with God.
