i'm going to give you a series of four questions get ready for these four questions i've asked many young people these four questions and almost none of them come out of the come out of these four questions with a good answer you ready the questions are easy question number one you could just shake your head do you believe in god yes don't tell me you came to a torah class on a wednesday morning you don't believe in god you believe in god good next question that's question number one so far easy right this is a good one easy question good next question do you believe he runs the world yes you believe hashem runs the world yes we all agree everyone agrees believes in god runs the world so far two for two next question do you believe he wrote the torah yes shake your head yes again there's a god he runs the world and he wrote the torah here's my fourth question so then why don't you always keep it what's the answer why don't you always keep it so i've sat with young people and said what's up you believe in god yes you believe he runs the world you believe he wrote the torah yes yes so why don't you pray you believe in god you believe he runs the world you believe he wrote to torah so why don't you eat kosher why you believe in god you believe he runs the world you believe he wrote the torah so why don't you keep shabbat properly answer that question the answer is that those questions for questions simply require a minute of thought and most of us don't have a minute and so we never actually think that through most of us our beliefs are a contradiction when we'll sit and be mad at somebody i need to take revenge at somebody i need to slander that person i need to talk about that person or need to get the person back do you believe in god do you believe he runs the world do you believe he wrote the torah so why are you doing this the answer is we're not thinking you
