this torah class is brought to you by torahanytime.com okay good morning everyone it's a great pleasure to be here in this wonderful yeshiva our torah and whenever sunday comes around i always remember the gemara massachusetts says that when you have a fast day we don't like to legislate a fast day on a sunday because people don't feel well on sunday why don't people feel well on sunday so you remember when avraham avinu had his bris brasmila remember what's the most painful day of the bresmila third day so sunday is the third day of creation because god created man on friday so sunday is day three and every sunday hashem is recreating the world so on sunday you don't feel as great as the rest of the week the gemara says and you don't want to fast on a sunday and that reminded me you know every week we have to remember the creation of the world it's an interesting thing when someone created the world anybody know how many bunny rabbits hashem created when um the world was created anyone ever do a census anyone ever take again there were a lot we don't know exactly but there are a lot of rabbits running around yeah and how many gorillas did hashem create on the first day of you know when he created the gorillas nobody ever took a poll you know there wasn't an official counting but there were a lot of them in the jungle anybody know how many butterflies hashem created when he created the world probably millions they were fluttering everywhere and cows anybody know how many cows a lot of cows and how many turtles do you happen to know what would you guess a lot that's right a lot of turtles and fish probably billions of fish and yet even though there are a lot of rabbits and a lot of butterflies and a lot of turtles and a lot of gorillas there's only one man and the mishna asks why did hashem create so many different kinds of animals and he only created one man it's an interesting question you know what the mishna says it's to teach you the following lesson a person is obligated to say bishvili the world was created for me sometimes you wake up in the morning and you say i'm going to go dave now is it really so important how well i darwin anyway without me there another 19 people in the room somebody here will be davening right is it really matter how carefully i say the words with how much focus i say the words does it really matter how well i learned today says the mishnah a person is obligated to say that the whole world was created just for me which means i'll give you a little example so we come from new york it's just it's a planet you ever hear the planet called new york yeah and in new york there's a yeshiva that my boys go to is my son's ninth grade class i think they're how many boys 200 no in your whole grade 200 boys just in the ninth grade they're in some of the classes there are eight classes in each grade so if i would go to a graduation let's say i went to mayor glancing's graduation eighth grade i'm sitting there and on the stage there are 200 boys how many but when i go to his graduation how many boys do i see at that graduation even though they're 200 boys sitting on that stage i only see mayor gladstein why because mayor is my son so it's like yeah there are 200 boys but i'm only looking at him that means when a person wakes up in the morning they have to think that even though hashem loves all jews and all jews are his children but the world he created just for me and when i open up my siddha the ibanezham looking only at me and the way hashem runs the world is dependent only on me and if there's a war in the ukraine then it's because of me and what i do what i do me just me that makes a difference and the way i learn that makes a difference and the way i talk to my friends that makes a difference and the way i think that makes a difference and that's step number one in yedish kait the importance of me and therefore the importance of what i do and what i say and what i think and how i learn and how i dive in so it's great to see you today on sunday the third day of creation which is really the first day of creation and always help us realize and recognize how important we are and how valuable our fellows are and how valuable our learning is and i wish you all great success in all your endeavors and have a terrific day thank you so much you've just experienced another torah class brought to you by torahanytime.com
