Amazing story in book called Avodas
Akodesh.
They talk about a story of the original
Rabbi Pinto, Rabbi Chaim Pinto.
A poor man [music] in his Kayla one time
found a coin.
Now, he didn't know that this coin
[music] apparently had some kishuf in
it. Some
pepper wizardry in it of some kind.
Connected to Avodas Zara had the symbol
of
JC Penney on it apparently.
And as he's carrying the sack with the
coin in it, this is almost a thousand
years ago by the way. It was 700 years
ago.
The story goes that
he hears a voice from inside the sack.
And he opens the sack and he eventually
discovers that this coin
is talking.
He says, "If you take me out of the
sack,
you'll find a fortune today."
Okay, interesting enough.
Long story short, he takes the coin out
of the sack.
And next thing you know, he finds a big
diamond.
Shortly later, tells him if you do this,
I'll give you something else. And this
continues on and on.
And all of a sudden this little poor guy
becomes a gvir, becomes rich.
One day he goes to Rabbi Pinto.
And Rabbi Pinto is obviously big
tzaddik, kadosh.
So, he knows that
nothing happens for no reason. So, he
asks him, "Where where all of a sudden
you became very wealthy? What what
happened?"
He says, "Rabbi, I don't hide anything
from you.
I'll tell you. Come." He takes him, and
shows him his palace, his house now.
He shows them this fancy room, and the
whole fancy room has only one little
podium, and there's something in the
middle, and he says, "What is it?" He
sees this coin. He goes, "That's the
reason. That's my segulah."
"That's my segulah." "What segulah? A
coin is segulah? Where does the Torah
say this coin is segulah?" He goes, "No,
no. This coin
tells me what to do."
So, he looks closer into the coin, and
he was a very holy man. He saw that it
is kishuf
in this coin,
and he started He took something. He
started smashing it to destroy it.
He said, "This is 100% idol worship.
You must We have to destroy the coin,
and you are not allowed to enjoy even
one penny,
one penny that you received as a result
of this coin."
Why? Because the Gemara Maseches Avodah
Zarah says multiple times, "You're not
allowed to ever enjoy idol worship."
>> The same thing the sham for more Torah.
One, two, three.
