last week so I would encourage anybody
watching us to go back and see the
introduction because that really lays
out the whole foundation for the book
but we also did was we used the Arts
girl tashley
like in a very uh concise very short
fashion the 13 attributes what we're
going to deal with today in the next 45
minutes if we can is only the first four
only the first four hopefully hopefully
I mean last time we had 45 minutes we
went for over an hour right uh but no
seriously I hope to
you know bring it down in a more concise
fashion myself uh I mentioned for those
this is the book really to get this is
dealing with the first chapter which is
the 13 attributes of Mercy according to
mikha chapter 7 which parallel the
chapter 32 of Exodus
of the 13 attributes and for some reason
these are considered higher these are
the ones that in other words God
manifests
the way it's expressed in 32 of Exodus
and yet this is how we should behave in
in this fashion and we spoke about how
we affect Hashem in other words and I
titled the last class the last uh the
first uh the series
um
we're the shadow of God but yet to not
cause God our shadow
so this is a double limitation we
imitate him and he imitates us which is
very hard to really get our head around
we think about Hashem but Hashem is
really incomprehensible I mean there's
only certain things we know and that's
what the Torah taught us
umosha to the prophets and we can look
at nature and figure some of these
things out but we're not like
fully you know like only using 10 of our
brain if we're lucky
right honey so
is everything okay
so here we go we're going to start with
the first of the first of four
um okay
[Music]
so as we saw in the Tash league and I'll
just read the verse from Mika once again
for everybody
who of God is like you that's going to
be the first
who pardons iniquity that's number two
so let's just talk about those two these
two are before chuva
God is going to be merciful to us while
we're still sinning
and that sounds crazy but again
we're supposed to imitate him how many
Sinners are there or people who are
abusive or people don't don't know what
they're doing right in our lives that we
could be reacting to so we're gonna act
like Hashem right because that's one of
the 613 Mitzvahs is the imitation
so who oh God is like you who pardons
iniquity this is before chuva so let's
begin with the first and I gave you
sheets and I'm going to read slowly and
we'll do just the English I mean I don't
mind doing Hebrews gonna just take twice
as long
so this attribute teaches us that Hashem
Bears insults and endures offense
first of all to the extent we cannot
even fathom
the actually the first idea is that he
is sustaining Us in fact I mentioned
um agave in our
God is not just the Creator past tense
of the world he is constantly every I
don't know if you had you divide it
called it nanosecond right is recreating
the world and
if we realize this is before chuva so if
we're still sinning and he's CR he's
infusing life into us
so that means he's like the like I I
don't want to belittle it but you know
the energy source the power source the
battery that's giving us the energy is
actually sin and continue to sin but
what's really behind it because he's
very patient very loving and he will
let's talk about you know exacting
punishment at some other time we're
talking about mercy here that he wants
us to do Trula he actually wants us to
do children now the truth is I just want
to reiterate he actually wants us this
plan a plan B and plan C in creation and
this is from Rabbi Captain's uh famous
uh explanation of the ram Khal God
really wants us to do midst that's plan
a we do misses everything's great but we
are Flesh and Blood We Are Not Angels
the terror was not offered to Angels
Angels don't need the toy they don't do
business they don't have family
relationships and all that stuff that we
have we're the extra hurray they don't
have the yet Sara they don't need it so
we we have it and we need it but we're
not perfect we're not we're flesh and
blood so sometimes we fail we don't
always do the misses properly or even at
all so Hashem gave us plan B true okay
guess what I mean we're still not angels
and we still don't do true but not all
of us but uh properly not fully and
maybe not at all
so we have plan C which is suffering so
you don't have to suffer you don't have
to suffer right that's that's plan C
so bizarat Hashem uh we understand that
he is patient right he doesn't cause the
suffering immediately right he's patient
and loving and wants to see us learn
about the Mitzvahs and learn about truva
and get on the program so to speak
Okay so
amazingly he sustains us even while
we're sinning
so now we're going to go back into the
text certainly nothing is hidden from
his eyes
furthermore our very existence every
moment is sustained by a supernal force
that flows from above okay there's no
question about it that's what we know
about God
thus no sin has ever been committed
unless at the very instant the person
was sinning Hashem was knowingly
granting him the power to exist and move
his lips right every I mean we're
talking about Pure Energy whatever
science you want to look at
you know the deepest
science this every atom is spinning it's
spinning because God's spinning these
atoms okay so everything that we do is
ultimately because of the combination of
everything behind the science so to
speak it's all from Hashem
even though the sinner uses that Force
to sin because that is what we're doing
aren't we he's that battery that's
that's powering our bodies and yet we're
using it negatively Hashem does not
withhold it from him at all we're still
breathing we're still thinking and
bizarat Hashem will be thinking about
God in the bathtub
who Bears the affront of supplying him
or her with power and movement of the
limbs well the person is still using the
power at the moment of sin iniquity and
provocation and Hashem endures I just
want to remind ourselves we're going to
get to the point where we have to
imitate God if he's doing this to us
and we run into difficult people
how are we supposed to treat them
it's huge test I mean I should say like
I mentioned in the beginning of last
week the introduction who am I I mean I
have a law but I'm not going to tell you
guys but I'm sure everyone knows we're
all human I also have a list things I
have to work on it ain't finished right
if it was finished I probably wouldn't
be here
do not say that Hashem is unable to hold
back from him that goodness God forbid
totally capable
in a moment Hashem could paralyze a
sinner's hands and feet like he did to
your of them now I want to talk about
this story in your oven in First Kings
chapter 13 4. Edo the prophet comes to
him he's furious with oneido you know
gives
why did the Kings Why did many many
kings killed prophets by the way I just
want to mention this you know that the
Christians say oh you killed all your
Prophets
we didn't kill the prophets many times
it was the king that killed the prophets
it was a suicide mission if you were a
prophet okay so you come and tell me you
you know you did something wrong get on
the program because that's the job of
the Prophet that's his CV you know
that's what he's going to do but you go
to the king who has the right let's say
the powers to say off with your head so
so it was like a suicide mission you're
going in to tell this evil King that
he's evil forget about it right you're
not going to have such a long uh resume
and so what happens over there
your ravum set up Idols in the north he
made a you know these golden calves uh
different temples you know he wouldn't
let the Jews the Israelites from the
north come down to Jerusalem which they
come up to Jerusalem from the north and
God did not do anything to your other he
continued to allow him to breathe in
exist and
you know be a monarch but when he wanted
to strike Edo
God paralyzed him so God can power but
just understand God I mean not that we
can but an Insight here
when it was his own insult because it's
an insult to build temples and idols and
not let Jews come to Jerusalem
he didn't he allowed European to breathe
and exist
but when he was ready to strike a human
being such as either the prophet God
paralyzed it so there is a limit don't
think it's uh you know but at least God
we had this concept we call God
it's a very strange concept but he's a
meleth near love he's an insulted King
was to talk about that how he Bears the
insults and endures offenses again
beyond our comprehension and I can
understand I mean I can understand to a
certain extent many of these other
religions how they have this suffering
God but this suffering God is merciful
right he's merciful and that is very
different than many of these other
religions
um
okay so now we are still here he
mentions the story of your brother
although Hashem has the ability to
withdraw that power he grants and he
could say since you sin against me do so
with your own power not mine well first
of all we don't have any power but he
could say you know you're going to sin
against me isn't that how we would think
uh someone comes to our table or that's
where somebody we're helping and they're
insulting or they're not nice or they do
something that could be hurtful to so
you're going to stop helping them well
if stopping helping them is the best
thing for them but maybe that
relationship keeping it going perhaps is
the best thing foreign
so just because the person's sinning
doesn't mean you just turn your back to
them Shem didn't do that to us
so despite this Hashem does not withhold
his goodness so as not to suffer the
disgrace
he gives the sinner power and his
goodness he's constantly you know
flowing uh Hashem is conflict on his
goodness towards even The Sinner which
is us
hashem's endurance and patience defy
description we cannot even imagine but
yet we have to imagine it because we
have to follow
we want to grow and we want to be
Spiritual Beings and we want forgiveness
ourselves we have to Grant forgiveness
to others
for this reason the Angels call Hashem
the king who endures disgrace as it says
in
chapter 25. now this is the meaning of
our media that we're talking about who
Hashem is like you
you are Hashem who does kindness and
goodness you are Hashem who is the power
to take revenge and gather what is yours
we're going to talk about revenge
shortly what is the difference between
taking out revenge and and taking out a
grudge
we'll talk about that shortly remind me
I last time I I said I'm going to talk
about something remind me nobody did but
okay
nevertheless you endure the and you
Hashem endure and tolerate disgrace
until the Sinners return and chuba so
that again we have to imagine now what
we have to do with the people around us
this is an attribute that man must
emulate
to endure
even if he is insulted to such an extent
he should not withhold his goodness from
the one who receives it sounds like a
very difficult agenda first of all it
can be done I mean many of us grew up
many uh hopefully we grew up some of us
in Dysfunctional households we have no
idea how right Hashem did not throw up
in a dysfunctional household he knows
exactly what is the proper way
so we have to seek guidance
um you guys don't have the next
paragraph I'm going to read
but it's like a summary when a person
consistently does favors for another
and is one day met with a tremendously
offensive display of ingratitude
in which the beneficiary of his kindness
uses the very favor he bestowed in order
to harm him
it is a difficult insult to bear
it is none if he nonetheless continues
to bestow the same favor that was used
against him with the hopes that one day
the beneficiary will make amends he
displays a Restraint of anger which
ascends to heaven and again the whole
thesis here is that what we do opens the
spigot of Mercy from above
so what happens your Restraint of anger
your display of the Restraint of anger
ascends to heaven and awakens hashem's
attribute of Mercy expressed by who
Hashem is like you bringing that element
of Mercy into the world it's not just
for you it actually
the whole world will will benefit that's
that's the whole thesis it's a really
unbelievable okay so the truth is even
though we're going to go to the next one
there's so much more to study about this
particular attribute
and I encourage you to do so okay so
let's now move to oh I do want to read
here this is the password it's a very
short line on attribute one so this is
right out of the Arts girl tashley
who oh God is like you the translation
follows the Malibu targum paraphrases
there is no one but you you alone are
God the prophet expresses the
recognition that God is incomparable
like a no believer
but he patiently Bears man's sins
although the sinner has abused the life
that God gives him
so here's the bottom line man should
emulate this attribute by learning to be
patient and even kind to those who abuse
and keep the person
okay let's move to number two
I'm sure I didn't cover most of I told
you that each class I gave was like an
hour and a half on each attribute so
we're using like 15 minutes of
okay the second one is called bearing
sin again these two attributes number
one number two is before juva so God is
carrying our sins we'll see what it
means to Bear the sin even
before we do chuva
this attribute to turn the page is
greater so they're all going to be
greater than the previous one this one
is greater than the previous one with
every sin that a person commits we
discuss this I think we discussed this
last week but we'll talk about again a
destructive Angels created
whether you believe in angels or not
let's think of Energies
right when you do something negative
some energy is brought into the world
now the way we express it is in the day
of judgment we're going to be standing
before the great judge and these angels
that we created are going to testify on
our behalf or against us
so the Satan is called the um the
agitator the person the prosecutor
that's how we understand that
I want to express a little bit different
I don't know if these angels actually
have to speak I don't know if they have
to speak I think they're near presence
you created them they're standing over
your shoulder the left side the right
side the red ones the white ones you
know however you want to imagine this
energy that you created
the very fact that that energy exists
God's aware of their energy he's aware
you created this negative force that
alone testifies against you that's how I
would like to explain it for those who
don't believe in angels who don't have
any comprehensions they are very hard to
you know imagine although many people
have watched television have some kind
of idea of cartoons some kind of idea
but they're not necessarily uh visible
and we're nor tangible
so every sin that we do now the first
thing we talked about that God is giving
us the energy to continue while we're
sinning these destructive angels that we
created they're also created beings and
he's constantly manifesting their
existence that's where we're going with
this he's bearing the sin
he's carrying the sin by the sin itself
right the results of the sin sometimes
is that energy
that you created and he's keeping that
going
unbelievable
so we're going to have to figure out how
we're going to emulate this into our own
lives
um as the sages said a person who
commits one of Vera this is a perfect
vote acquires one prosecutor but guess
what it's also true on the other side
you have defending Angels just as well
don't forget but right now we're talking
about that prosecutor stands before
karishbaraku and says see this is where
I'm not sure he has to actually open his
mouth but this is what it claims it says
this person created me
I don't understand I mean I understand
but I don't know if he has to open his
mouth he's sitting over my left shoulder
Hashem knows I created him
nothing can exist in this world unless
it's stained by the life force that
Hashem provides just like the human
being
the destructive angel now stands before
Hashem well how is it sustained how
shall it be sustained
it would be fair for Hashem to say I do
not support destructive Angels right
that makes sense why would God who is
all good continue to give a Life Force
to this destructive angel
you know God can say I'm not going to do
it anymore you know what go to the
person that created you let him continue
to
um to sustain you well we couldn't
go to the person who created let him
support you the destructive Angel would
then immediately descend and claim the
person's life right he would take the
person's life it's like a parasite you
take the person's life and then he dies
right so what's the point then it's like
suicide for the destructive Angel so God
in a certain sense is allowing this
Angel to live and saying I'm going to
continue to sustain you because what's
the other option you're going to take
the life force out of the person I mean
we've all seen all kinds of crazy movies
right where this you know you sell your
your soul to the devil then you get
eternal life that's like the storyline
behind a lot of movies
anyway
God doesn't allow that to happen
uh
let me just read that last point the
destructive Angel would then immediately
descend and claim the person's life or
cut off the soul or give him whatever
punishment is appropriate until that
destructive Angel is a nulled right
and so we have to understand God is so
full of mercy and I just want to share
something because in this week's Parsha
kisavo we have the 98 curses
in the 98 curses God's name appears 26
times I say God's name
which is the gamachia
of 26. and let me talk about a second
but basically you have to understand
that what we call curses
their ways their messages that you need
to improve yourself it's coming from a
merciful Place 26 times your K Bob caves
mentioned
and there are 676
words of the 98 curses and 26 times 26
is 676.
and when it says in another plastic you
know that you're not going to have all
these uh it's a Robos
all these things would happen to you the
word Rose is 676. so it's from Hashem
number one you should know and recognize
he wants us to do he's sending you a
message I love you I have mercy for you
I'm sustaining you until the day you do
truth until the moment you do truly it's
an amazing idea
um so I just wanted to share that
however Shem does not do so he bears and
endures the sin just as he sustains the
entire world he sustains and supports
the destructive Angel until one of three
things occur
either The Sinner does juvenile which is
plant B
or and destroys the true true the you
destroy
that negative Angel you understand
now we could talk about I don't want to
talk about so many things but we're
going on a little bit of tangents do you
know the difference between doing
kashuva out of love and doing out of
fear
either way it'll be destroyed but just
imagine when one does truth on a lower
level just out of fear whatever that
means you get a clean slate isn't that
wonderful
it is quite wonderful remarkable but
there's something even greater so that
angel that negative angel or energy you
created is now puff gone just
disappeared can you imagine what happens
when you do Toshiba out of love
I want everyone to really feel this
you actually transform those negative
angels
they were what Prosecuting you or let's
say making a negative thing against you
they're your defending Angels they
actually will turn around look how far
how far this person came because he did
true that of love all of our negatives
are our veros our sins actually are
transformed into mitzvahs I know it's
like really hard to get your head around
but if you ever ditchuva you'll realize
how much God loves you and you'll I
think you'll feel that energy I really
believe that you will feel that energy
of knowing you that you've out of love
and those negatives we're not just wiped
out which would have been fine enough it
really would have right everyone admit
it would be fine enough but we're
talking like Super Booster like turbo
okay like
okay so if you're gonna do two of you
might as well figure out how to do what
I love right you're gonna do truth
anyway right you're gonna do add a
suffering are you gonna do it right you
know above you know Plan B
and
okay either the Senate does truth or
destroys and the knows the Angels
through his presence or the just judge
annulls it through suffering and death
which is like you know let's call it
plan C but it's plan Z it's like off the
charts already you know
and uh so this is what what did Kyan say
like in Genesis chapter 4 verse 13.
is my sin too ready to Bear right God
sees he's a little bit down what what
took place
foreign
's
offering was not accepted this is before
the murder
his his offering was not accepted Abel's
was and kind is a little bit down Hashem
notices and he asks you why are you
annoyed why is your accountants
Fallen this is in chapter 4 verse 6.
this is what God says to him is it not
true that if you do good you will be
forgiven
very nice that's what God says to him
but if you do not do good now what does
that mean doing good talking about
improving your character working on your
relationship with God
but if you do not do good at the
entrance in crouches it's long English
towards you yet you could rule over it
so you could conquer this whatever you
thrown at you you can take care
okay then we have the murder
and we're looking for uh verse 13th
so this is after
kind pills able Kane says Hashem is my
iniquity too great to be born
behold you banish me this day so God is
carrying his sin and yet
Cayenne doesn't know what to do it's too
it sounds it feels too heavy for him but
Hashem is able to carry it so here the
sages explain the question like this
as if as if Cain is asking actually
speaking to God he says you bear the
entire world meaning that Hashem as we
already spoke about sustains and
supports the entire world so kind of
saying like King just bear my sin along
with it
is mice and so heavy you cannot bear it
you're taking the whole world on
support the destructive Angel until I do
truva and rectify what I did
so this attribute involves a great deal
forbearance
patience
Hashem patiently supports and sustains
the evil creation that the sinner made
until he does truva that's what
kind is asking for some mercy and some
patience can't you carry it for a while
a person should learn from from here
tolerance to endure the burden of his
fellow man right we're talking about we
have eight billion plus people that we
deal with we don't really have to deal
with most of them thank God I'm kidding
but we do have a lot of people we have
to deal with
and the evil that they do so even while
his evil
even while his evil that he perpetrated
against him still stands before his eyes
so you're you know you don't forget what
someone did to you right you might
forget but you don't forget you know
that statement
he should be patient with the offender
until he repairs the damage or until it
disappears on its own or a similar
remedy occurs this is again a very hard
I'm sure we've all been in positions
maybe even today not just yesteryear
with um with people who really
uh irked us if I could say that's a a
nice way of putting it
I want to share just the difference
between revenge and a grudge
does anybody know
the difference
so revenge is when
let's take uh mine
so I say to you
um you came to me yesterday and you want
to borrow something from me
and uh I didn't lend it to you okay you
came to me now I come to you and you say
um I'm gonna buy can I borrow something
from you
so revenge is no I'm not going to give
it to you because you didn't lend me
yesterday
that's Revenge what's a grudge
can I come to you and again the whole
scenario took place but you say to me
yeah I'm gonna lend it to you I'm going
to lend it to you because you didn't
lend me when I needed it but I'm not
like you that's called a grudge the
Revenge would be the withholding The
Grudges communicating why I'm giving it
to you because I have a grudge
these are two of the 613 mixes you're
not allowed to do this
so just imagine how many people you know
rub us the wrong way and what if we
didn't communicate it what you just
didn't lend them you know I'm sorry I I
don't have it I'm out of time I'm not
available or you don't answer the phone
they call because you know they need it
there's a concept of having a grudge in
your heart
and it's in my focus whether it's
actually communicated is the violation
of the 600 you know one of the 613
Commandments but I think we should
understand that usually was destroyed
because we didn't keep the letter of the
law I'm sorry we only kept the letter of
the law we didn't go beyond the letter
law so we should try to keep the spirit
of the law this is what Hashem he was
not going to hold the Grudge the people
people sin against him and he keeps uh
infusing them with life and they created
these uh Angelic forces or these
energies and he's keeping those going
and these were abuses to him so to speak
they were in the front to him and yet he
keeps it going so the question is what
are we going to do about it and I want
to read from
the the
attachments right attribute number two
who pardons or bears iniquity so every
time someone sins an accusing Angel
comes into being we read in perkiavo of
chapter 411.
God compassionately sustains the evil
force so that the sinner may continue to
live and have the opportunity to repent
from this man should learn to be
tolerant even when his neighbor offends
him
gonna have to look and figure it out
okay we can talk for hours you can go
and listen to the hour and a half share
I gave on it okay you can read the book
they give examples we have to figure out
how in our own lives to make this into a
practice
okay let's go to number three the number
three is that he removes iniquity
Okay so
we've actually spoke about this this
morning that God does not look at the
sin of yaakov okay but let's talk about
it from here
this is a great attribute for hashem's
forgiveness is not granted by means of
any intermediary this again would go
against many other religions you know
many religions even the first
man-made religion which was several
Generations after Adam
so they figured oh yeah God created the
world they're not denying that but he's
so busy the world is so great and so big
and he's so busy like with big things
what's he going to deal with us we'll
just talk to the Sun and the Moon in the
different intermediaries in order to get
what we want and Mankind has basically
they created gods in their own image
right Christianity is like the perfect
example of trying to create a God in
your own image but basically what we're
claiming here with the and you'll see it
in Psalms King David
in Psalms 1 30 verse 4 forgiveness is
with you he is the one he does he's
I mean he's big and he's bigger than we
can ever imagine And yet when it comes
to the Forgiveness part
Tim removes the iniquity doesn't send an
agent he doesn't send uh you know a
minister he doesn't send a servant he
himself
uh removes the iniquity
okay forgiveness is with you
what does this forgiveness entail Hashem
cleanses the sin
um this sorry cleanses The Sinner from
his sin now this is a little bit um
what do you call it risque if you want
to call it that in Isaiah issue of
chapter four verse 4 it says Hashem
shall wash the filth it's actually the
word that so is used soah is what
usually ends up in a diaper or you know
you know what I mean so anyway Hashem
himself he is the one who cleanses
hashemash the filth of the daughters of
xiong right the daughters of seon who's
sitting here at this table other than
the daughters of Sia
this is the attribute of our attribute
here that he removes iniquity
hashem's Hashem sends cleansing Waters
to go and wash away the sin so again I
want to take you on a short Journey
I have my little notes here it's in
sorry
Ezekiel chapter 36 verse 25.
okay so in 3625
and 26 right so God says I will sprinkle
sprinkle pure water upon you in
personally
please
that you may become cleansed I will
cleanse you from all your contamination
and from all your Idols so we do sing
this I believe we see the Hebrew
on there
right
yes it's a beautiful song but I also
like 26. I will give you a new heart and
put a new spirit within you
I will remove the Heart of Stone from
your flesh and give you a heart of Flesh
so that is also a beautiful beautiful
classic okay
yeah
it's Hashem who personally is cleansing
us cleaning us I mean you guys are all
women but you guys are not only it but
uh you know we all know what it's like
to clean up after somebody else
man must do exactly the same can you
believe it we all have to do it so leave
these will practice he should not say
why should I fix what is someone else's
fault or damage
you know Live and Let Live I got my life
you know that all changed in fact these
weeks of partials were talking about the
whole idea of uh our voot Collective
responsibility
uh the whole
scenario of putting the blessing in the
curse we were already being warned and
then again in this week's we're talking
about the those
basically on Mount grazing and mount
alveil what's going to happen once we go
to the lands of Israel there's a
choreographed uh idea of you know
accepting actually it's called accepting
responsibility it's called a New
Covenant by the way
that we have accepted upon ourselves the
same Torah
but more responsibility no longer
guys when I sin it's only my problem
we're entering a covenant where when you
sin it's my problem and when I sin it's
your problem
that's that's the New Covenant that took
place or takes place at um
at Mount grazing and Manta there so do
not say that don't say well let them fix
it why should I fix it for when a person
sins Hashem himself I mean he's fixing
it he's cleaning it
why can't we befriend The Sinner
I mean it sounds like a very weird thing
right at least don't cut them off
you know they're going to do truva and
you're responsible if they don't I mean
not fully questions how do you go about
giving rebuke
do you give rebuke with um you know your
right hand and you bring them closer or
are you only giving them rebuke with the
left hand and pushing them away
so don't say that don't let them why
should I fix someone else's sins when a
person sins Hashem himself not through
an intermediary fixes his crookedness
and washes the filth of his sin what do
we do we just cut them off we don't want
anything to do with them yeah there are
people believe me I don't have to tell
you that are just so damaging that it's
very difficult to be around them and
function I get it but let's just say
most people that seem that way really
not they're either looking for attention
they're they have a very negative
you know self-esteem and it needs to be
uh worked on so to speak how okay that
you're going to filter your local uh
Rabbi or psychologist
um so Shem himself not through an
intimate intermediary fixes his
crookedness and washes the filth of his
sin the whole idea of giving to one of
the 6 13 misses to give rebuke but it
has to be done out of love it's the same
verses you shall love your neighbors
yourself
rebuke so if it's not done out of love
it shouldn't be done
yeah and I'm going to talk about King
David and um shimmy lingera shortly I'll
tell you the story remind me I don't
tell it say oh what happened to that
story shimmy benguer
with this in mind a person should be
ashamed to sin again since the king
himself washes the filth from the soiled
arraignment now let me tell you about
the story of
King David's rebellious son
so much so that when dovet was running
away
shimmy was throwing rocks
that doesn't really was already the king
but nobody knew it wasn't like whatever
and then people knew it but he was
throwing he wasn't recognized so he was
throwing rocks at the king
and throwing rocks at the king you know
you know you're off with your head
right your murid the Mathis
but um
so there was uh the nephew of the others
who happened to me is General Johor
binsurura wanted to kill him right on
the spot and David said no
okay no don't kill him now
Okay so
so what David expressed was listen
the guy throwing rocks at me I deserve
to have rock star to me this is a very
harsh on reality of the world whatever
happened it's supposed to happen
whatever will happen supposed to happen
just the reality of it so love it
accepted that I must have done something
that deserved it I needed a lesson of
humiliation I was humiliated by this
very important person throwing Rock City
but don't kill him because Scott's will
now what did that really mean the
understanding is that it's not true
that the person did not deserve to be
thought to be killed at some point but
he left King Solomon he left Solomon who
was not yet King but his son while he
was still alive make sure to take this
and we're going to call Revenge but it
doesn't matter we're not it's not really
revenge in the sense we spoke to God
make sure to kill have this guy but do
it through a pretext don't do it because
he did this to me find some other excuse
and Solomon tells him
don't leave town
you know I'll leave you shalim
and and shimmy benguera he had some some
donkeys that got lost whatever they ran
away he left town for his
donkeys I mean if it was your mother's
funeral if it was you know to make a
million dollar deal I think it might be
worth it right but whatever I mean you
told me the thing was don't leave town
or you're dead like you he knew that if
he left town he's dead because the king
said that's it you can't leave King
Solomon you can't live down and he left
to find a few donkeys
so the understanding is that what
changes David's mind that in his whole
life accepted God's Divine Providence
that I I needed that humiliation and it
was destined to happen I'm not going to
blame the guy
he did blame the guy but he was so
afraid of his own personal biases that
he made sure during his lifetime he
didn't do it in fact he even told Simon
make sure to find another pretext which
he did found the pretext okay don't
leave town and he left town but it was
the um so even though we discussed this
whole idea of a grudge and whether it's
actually communicating or not he wanted
to make sure that when this guy simply
gets what he deserves it wasn't coming
from a negative place from within that's
how serious when we think of giving
take some deep breaths strategize what's
the best way to talk to this person
without
um
destroying that you know the point is
the goal is to get them to Jesuit
you know if the only thing they walk
away with is you're a jerk you're not
nice
you know you load you laid it on there
heavy which we're going to talk about
shortly maybe I can talk about it now
um when you give review don't lay okay
oh I got to be honest with this person
I'm gonna just tell them the whole story
from beginning to end and how much they
hurt me and everything they did wrong
don't do that because that is not going
to be productive leave something out
maybe for later but no leave something
out leave something up maybe you have to
leave a lot of it out focus on one two
things you want them to do true good
like it's not I'm a fishing and you're
trying to pull them in but in a certain
sense what's your goal the day should
know you love them and number two that
they're not total direct they're not
totally worthless right so we have to be
very careful how we give reviews
okay let's talk about over let's let me
just read what he says here in the
here no I have it here somewhere
I got all these papers over here
this is according to the article Tash
League number three
and he overlooks transgression right he
overlooks transgression we ultimately
are going to overlook
transgression right get out of that
Grudge out of your heart uh The Grudge
and
and he overlooks transgression like
literally rebelliousness God himself
grants forgiveness he does not delegate
this important function to a deputy as
scripture says in Psalms we read that
for with use forgiveness so what does
this attribute teach us then it teaches
man that since every wrong is an affront
to God
we must strive to correct it
no matter who committed it would you
would we hesitate to save our neighbor's
house from burning because we didn't set
the blaze right so what his house is
burning I'm not guilty just let it burn
no you all would run right someone falls
on the bus you figure out a way to help
them up alert the driver to stop
whatever it is okay
okay let's go to the last one for
tonight
um
to the remnants of his inheritance
so what does it sound like it really
from a push-up shot it doesn't really
sound like this is an attribute of Mercy
it's just a description of who Hashem is
um has a special relationship with
but the relationship is the key word
here
foreign
don't read his remnant of his
inheritance but as his flesh
in other words we are actually gods
partner the Jewish people are we're his
family
were actually his family
let's start with the reading of the text
a kuddish bar who acts towards beginning
Israel in this way saying what shall I
do with them they are my relatives
like in other words in in Leviticus
chapter 19 where it describes all the
Forbidden relationships it's called
shareit This is flesh and in fact the
Cohen's wife is called lecheirit that's
he's a lot of matani becoming pure for
her even though it kind is normally not
allowed to be in a cemetery but there
are seven closest relatives if you look
there's only six listed but it says the
relative closest to him and then at
least six well who is the closest
relative the wife so that's it uses the
word flesh right we know that man and
will become one flesh okay so we're
talking about the very fact that we are
God's relative so much so
God says they are my relatives with whom
I have a close resolution relationship
the Jewish people are like a Karishma
whose spouse furthermore we're actually
called
my daughter my sister my mother
I mean this is a crazy concept that
we're actually called God's mother
yeah
it's further written
Israel the nation is related to him it
says in Psalms 148
Israel
that we are his relative
we are related to God
they are actually related to him
they are his children we know there's so
many verses that talk about him being
our father and us being his children
and the verse thus says to the remnant
of his inheritance now that that's the
verse
that's the words we're using right now
to explain this is actually a trait how
how is it a trait a trait of Mercy
so he just explains how it means that
close relative find any event the word
doesn't lose its simple meaning now
why does Hashem say why what does Hashem
say if I punish them
what happens when you punish a relative
I'm sure a mother
feels it a father feels it out of the
brothers and sisters feel this much
um but uh when you punish your you know
a close relative you're the one
experiencing the pain as well and in in
Isaiah 63 9 the culture
the word Lo is a little playing words
I'm not going to get into the olive
versus Islamic love but in all their
suffering he suffers whenever we suffer
God suffers when you know we could be
praying for the end of the Exile why
because I'm suffering do you have any
idea how much God is suffering because
of the Exile again it works the same way
when we turn on Mercy Mercy comes God
forbid it's also the other way when we
sin and we are exiled God is in Exile
and he's suffering we should be crying
for the Sheena that is suffering it
should be that real to us
I'm going to go down to the next
paragraph
it's also written he was unable to
endure the pain of Israel it says in the
Shelf team
and he cannot endure their pain and
shame since they are the remnant of his
no no he doesn't want to it's very
painful it's extremely painful
so how should we treat another human
being
all Jews are close relatives
for their souls are combined together
every Jew has with himself a portion of
every other Jewish Soul Jew Soul this is
why the Merit of a large Gathering
people performing a Mitzvah right we say
Rove am hatterson
the more people performing a Mitzvah the
more glory to the king Hallelujah do I
get a Hallelujah let's hear it
because our souls are combined
for this reason reason the sages tell us
that the first 10 people to arrive
ensure we're talking about men by the
way women are a million on their own
okay now so the men are lacking if
there's not a minion
so the first ten
receive reward equivalent to everyone
who comes after them even if they're a
hundred the number 100 is specifically
used here since each of the first ten
people included in one another in other
words I can't describe this from a
metaphysical point of view but we're all
interconnected
I heard Rabbi Brady was explained like
this I mean we're a helic from where a
portion of God above God cannot be
divided
so I am you and you are me how can I
hurt you I'm hurting myself
um and Hashem on the other hand also I
mean we're part of him we're not we're
Inseparable we're Inseparable from each
other and we're Inseparable from Hashem
and let me just keep reading that uh so
who the first ten get the reward for all
the people to come after them
it's for this reason as we said that all
Jews are Havas have responsibility in
okay all Jews are responsible for one
another
because every Jew has within himself a
portion of every other Jew
but a person sins he harms not only
himself but also the portion of the
fellow Jew that was so that's within me
I mean just like all the 613
Commandments are all intertwined this is
like in metaphysics it's the shrink
Theory or the unification Theory well
that's how the 613 mixes work that's how
my body works that's how am Israel
that's how the Torah works and we talked
about this before that in the Ten
Commandments there's 620 letters there's
613 for the seven for the 613 misses for
the Jews and seven for the North High
that's why the truly righteous notified
is really attached to the Jewish Nation
on a big level so let's move on can we
talk about that whether the day knock
Channel
but for this reason we said that all
Israel responsible for one another
because every Jew has with himself a
portion of every other Jew we said when
he sins he not only affirms himself but
also fine and that's due to the shared
Soul he's responsible for the other they
are just like one flesh and we said that
this is the um the remnant or the Flesh
of his inheritance this is how God is
going to treat us this is how we are
going to end up treating each other
how have I right we should only know
from such things for this reasoning
reason it is fitting for each person to
seek the benefit of his fellow be
pleased with his fellow success right
you hear about someone success what do
you say I wonder how I can do that well
well first acknowledge how happy you are
for the person right
I don't know if anybody's ever been in a
position like this we have a friend they
lost a lot of weight
so you're going to say um you know here
that's okay
you want to see their downfall I mean I
don't know I've never been in that
position I'd probably other similar
positions but not that but we have to be
very careful you follow what I said I
have you ever look on your face okay we
should be happy with other people's
success we shouldn't uh be trying to
think of ways to undermine their success
right that's why we're commanded
did I skip something
I I think I skipped something okay for
this reason it's fitting right okay
this is why we're commanded love your
neighbor as yourself this is what is the
greatest principle of the entire Torah
as if it's all 612 other Mitzvahs are
actually sub categories every Miss we do
is actually intertwined and ultimately
for that ultimate purpose
it is proper for one to seek the
well-being of his fellow never speak
against him
right never speak against
or desire his disparagement Justice does
not want us to be disgraced or harmed
since we are his relatives
you understand we're talking about every
one of these traits we're supposed to
incorporate it's not the toy says it's
not too distance for you it's not too
hard for you it's in your mouth you can
do it let's figure out how this is the
reality of Torah this is not like you
know sitting and figuring how to make
senses that's true we have to know how
to make senses there's different ways
but this is the real intricate stuff
that we have to live with on a daily
you can always go to the store but I
already made senses
he too should never desire disgrace pain
or failure to be full his fellow these
things should affect him as if he were
to suffer the same pain himself
to be extremely
empathetic and an empath and what's the
word and empathic and anyway these
things should affect him as if he were
to suffer the same pain himself or
conversely if he would enjoy the same
good fortune and of course we should
really feel that so the last summary of
attribute number four from the tashley
is for the remnant of his Heritage the
prophet directs his words to the remnant
of Israel to which survived the long
exile God cannot bear Israel's pain for
it is his Remnant it's it is his Remnant
it's his relatives
and and all that he has in his universe
God loves us from God's love for us a
Jew learns how to love his fellow man
all Jews are related to each other in
each Soul there's a portion of all the
others it follows therefore that when a
Jew sins his wrong affects not only his
own soul but also the portion that
all the other others possess in him
okay so this is just the first before
and I implore and I ask go back and see
number one the introduction and if you
want to really do your own study get
some of the books that I recommended you
can watch my series on all 13 attributes
and there's a link there'll be a link
below and with that um
