TLS Peretz Eicheler Speaks with Resident about Conrail Closing Rt 9 for Repairs

they say that Pro means for and con means against so one would wonder does that mean that Conrail is against progress when it comes to blocking traffic of such a major udy in Lakewood that remains to be seen one thing's for sure people are asking that the township step in so that major traffic patterns and and lives are just simply not disrupted par recycler on the right train and the right track on the lake with scoop no one disputes the railroads right and necessity to repair tracks the question is they might be the right train but are they on the right track in terms of disrupting a major traffic pattern in a major intersection it's going to be terrible for us bus drivers so what's your reaction to knowing that the railroad Conrail is going to be shutting down a major portion of rout 9 UM be honest with you I think it's quite idiotic with the to find um to find irregular times to disturb everyone's day instead of doing it at night or doing something they can to avoid uh a lot of chaos no reason for them to shut it down and if they have to they could figure out Al alternative ideas but um it's just it's purely stupid and idiotic they're going to cost they're going to cost the city of Thousand going to cost the city thousands of dollars every single day and um there's absolutely no productive reason for it they don't give us a heads up they don't tell us anything they just do whatever they want whenever they want that's pretty much the gist of it you think the township should try and step in and stal do something um to be honest with you I don't know if the township can do anything about it however I think the fact that the questions even being posed um without a doubt Township should do everything everything in its power to uh prevent it from from being uh from actually happening um however you know um as I've experienced before in other areas uh you know Town shuts down other stuff whenever they choose as well without warning so uh there is no alternative choice no matter who it is for for 2 days next week by Conrail I don't well this is Route 9 traffic late afternoon it's pretty packed as it is so people are wondering how it's going to uh going to be when conell shuts down a good portion of this state highway for 2 days without having really ask the um the township officials what the impact is going to be about um Conrail shutting down Route 9 for 2 days next week yeah yeah yeah how do you feel about you think it's going to affect traffic yeah traffic you think it's a good idea for them to just start working on the trains and shut down Route 9 I don't know oh everything's in effect here except the busy road it is going a defect Tru you think anything could be done about it you think the township should try and get them to do something else probably okay have a good day thank you they got to do what they got to just keep it running fine so for two days nothing wrong with that it's not going to bother you and driving what are we going to do it's progress we got to we got to get a little bit of upset sometimes to make things better if it's good it's going to be good at the end of the day it's going to be good we're about the beginning of the day we don't worry about that worry about the end that's what's coming you know it's going to affect TR it's definitely going to affect the township should do something about it they sure okay bro all right okay see you later I think it's going to affect them bra of Community we should be aware with such things going on this way we can prepare for such a situation or how to get around the traffic rather than me stuck in the middle of traffic cuz all of us have a schedule to keep it's not fair for those who have schedule to keep and myself personally for my pastor's Fair as well pretty much sums it up you think the township ought to step in and try and get them to take an alternative time to do it when it's not so busy they should they should try to get maybe do it at night time after hours try it that route or like I say alert the township what's going on and post it on a just where everybody knows what's going on so you can plan around it weekends would make it better something like that absolutely or evenings evenings work as well but how do you feel about not being told about it just them conre coming in stepping in saying it's not good not good at all not good at all not good at all you feel about uh conro coming in and shutting down a good part of Route 9 without uh getting permission from the township what do you think is going to do the traffic how you going to feel about it it's going to be a lot of traffic a lot of traffic around you know backing up a lot of people they got to do where they got to get to it's going to be a problem a lot of uh trying to get around and can't it's a problem now but that's going to make us things even worse so you think the township and Lakewood should try and do something to avoid it yeah I think so they should you know about the Conrail shutting down Route 9 for two days next week oh please don't tell me that no don't tell me that one second oh I miss yeah looks like next week conro shutting down Route 9 on a major uh Junction for about 2 days how do you think that's going to affect you that's going to affect a lot of people it's going to be very hard for a very tight quarter door to be shut down do it as an overnight or at least shut it down for a on Lane repair this way it can make it a lot easier for a lot of people that are trying to go through this so you think it's going to affect you as a as a driver oh all all traffic affect us but FedEx we're number one we'll get your package delivered even through n to shut down for 2 days we'll do timate routs
