Shalom everyone welcome to shabbat.com to return home but he was afraid that his brother ASAP would kill him Yakov sleeps alone in the desert and he's awoken by an Angel who wrestles him through the night and of course he survives and in this week's varsha he's blessed by the angel and renamed Israel eventually of course yaakovino meets his brother and surprisingly despite his fear they embrace to me this is one of the most mysterious episodes in the whole of the nah because it's not really clear who yaakov was wrestling it with an angel a stranger one interpretation that comes from rashman rashi's grandson is that Jacob was afraid of encountering ASAP despite hashem's Francis Jacob's courage failed him and he was trying to run away so Hashem sent an angel to stop him and here is he a great man yaakov who was afraid but afraid of what according to rushman he was afraid essentially of his mission the kind of fear yaakov was experiencing is not physical fear it's the fear that comes from a feeling of personal inadequacy sometimes even the greatest have the least self-confidence because they know how immense is the responsibility and how small they feel in relation to it courage does not mean having no fear it means having fear but overcoming it and if that is true of physical courage it's no less true of moral and a spiritual courage as well to feel fear is fine to give way to it it is not for God has faith in us all even though at times the best of us like faith in ourselves yaakov fought with God and became Israel so we are children of a father who has prevailed he felt afraid and over and overcame fear so can we have a beautiful Shabbat [Music] foreign [Music]
