This year Tisha B'Av falls out right after Shabbos
and there are a few things you need to know. First
we eat a regular Shalosh Seudot. We eat a regular
third meal. You can eat meat. You can drink wine.
We do not have a Seuda Hamafseket, a final
meal the way we usually do. Once sunset comes,
we stop eating, we stop drinking, and we
stop washing our bodies in the way that
we normally wash. If you wash your hands,
you wash them till the knuckles. Once the
time for Shabbos to end comes, we pronounce
baruch hamavdil bein kodesh lechol, that
ends our Shabbos. We take off our Shabbos
clothing, we take off our leather shoes,
and we make a bracha on fire the
way we normally do in Havdalah,
borei me'orei ha'eish- we do not make the rest
of Havdalah, only the bracha on the candle,
on the fire. Then we go to shul and we observe
a meaningful Tisha B'Av. Once the fast is over,
we make Havdalah before we eat. And the
Havdalah we make is only on wine. We do
not make a bracha on the fire and we do not
make a bracha on the besamim, on the herbs.
