many people who are in a community who say look we need another school in our community and they go to the rabbinic establishment and they could go in one of two ways either rabbis you really should build another school in the community or we're prepared to raise the money we're prepared to put in the work and we want your support and they usually get it and that happens all the time we need a new mikvah we need a school we need a new show if the people who are saying the need is there are willing to back it up with real commitment i would say most of the time they're able to uh encounter success and are embraced by the old guard by the establishment by the higher-ups in the community hierarchy look at the community organizations that have been started that have been started by lay people who see a need and bring it to the fore but back it up with effort ranging from hat sola to tom keshabes to all kinds of cassette organizations and other types of educational initiatives that are started by lay leadership by lay individuals members of the community but their ideas are not just ideas up in the air they're ideas that are accompanied by a willingness to do the work now sometimes you'll say well what do you want they're not idea people they're just identifying a need that doesn't do it that doesn't entitle them to complain or to gripe about community leadership not taking them seriously that's just a reality they may say look i'm willing to put together a group of people to brainstorm that's a commitment and therefore i agree i don't have a solution but i'm willing to create the environment where solutions could be explored that's a commitment but to just say i brought it to you now it's your issue to deal with and you've failed to do with it and i'm frustrated by the community leadership that's not a valid complaint [Music]
